  1. If they go 4-6 I'd be perfectly fine. 5-5 would be great, and to be honest anything better would be pretty outstanding.
  2. He made a fantastic play in the 7th and turned like 5 double plays, furthering the point he can botch some easy plays and make some great ones. He also had two sharply hit balls that didn't fall in.
  3. Adam freakin' Kennedy gets a game tying double off Paplebon in the top of the 9th at Fenway so they're going into extra innings. The White Sox will try to give the Cubs their first home loss in over a month tonight.
  4. Parra is doing his best Suppan impression, a boat load of pitches in the first. I see Weeks's good luck has continued.
  5. So is Mike Cameron's toe injury more serious than originally thought? I mean four straight games of Kapler starting, that isn't really great news concerning Mike. It'll be nice to have Weeks back though.
  6. Wise (who?) for the White Sox just hit a HR to give them a 4-1 lead. Hopefully today they can actually maintain a lead...
  7. Really? I can't think of anyone here who likes Star Wars. That's what's so cool about Wikipedia. The other day I was looking up something on Chase Utley and ended up reading about a battle from the Civil War. There should be a six degrees of wikipedia.
  8. Me too, but I envision him being pissed because Braun relied on a homer.
  9. As awesome as Branyan has been and as not-awesome as Hall has been, it's the right call. Hall's career numbers against lefties are much better than Branyan's. My vent: I got into the stadium immediately at 5:30 and made a bee-line to where Sheets would be signing, yet there were a ton of people already there ahead of me. I guess I should sprint next time. I ended up getting the autographs of none other than Ned Yost and Mark DiFelice.
  10. Does anyone have any suggestions on how early to get there for the autograph signings? I've never been to any of them but Sheets and Fielder are signing so I'm assuming they'll each have long lines. I want to try to get Sheets's for sure but is getting both his and Fielder's unrealistic for the 20 minute time slot? Thanks!
  11. I'm guessing it's because the Brewers were up 7 runs at the time and didn't want to risk some freak injury to him.
  12. The Orioles should wear their unis from the 1966 season. I have their "Cooperstown Collection" hat or whatever it's called from that year and it's sweet, I used to wear it all the time. Suppan's ERA has dropped a full run and a half in his last 7 starts, I bet that doesn't happen too often. Doesn't it seem like Luke Scott was a pretty big Brewers killer with the Astros? At least he'll only start 2 of the 3 games.
  13. He seems to have even less discipline when he's in high pressure situation, ie a couple guys on late in a close game. If he doesn't swing at the first two pitches it's almost a miracle. If he could ever become a Vlad-like hitter I'd be very happy. He's only 23 so I'm pretty confident his discipline will get better. Obviously I doubt he'll ever be like Berkman or Helton in that he walks 100 times a year, but if his OBP is 50/60 points higher than his average that'd be fine I think.
  14. Is Barry Zito really rated that highly anymore? I just assumed most people know he's been very bad the last year and a half.
  15. I like how on Sportscenter they just mentioned that the Rays last 13 games were against division leaders (Cubs, Angels, Bo Sox, Chi Sox) and that they went 7-6 during that stretch. What they failed to mention was that they were 6-1 at home at 1-5 on the road. They haven't been too bad on the road, but they've played the most home games in the majors I still think they'll be similar to the 07 Brewers only with less of a collapse, so maybe 87 or so wins.
  16. Maybe he forgot to eat more bananas. Speaking of Burnett, I wonder if he'll reconsider opting out of that $13 million he'd get next year with the Jays...
  17. How was the first episode this week? I still haven't even seen all of season 3 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif I just put on ESPN and heard someone talking while they were showing a graphic and thought "Why the heck is David Cross on ESPN?" only to realize it was Buster Olney talking. Next time you hear him talk, think about it.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if it was John Anderson since he's from Wisconsin. I certainly thought it was funny.
  19. The Cubs haven't been swept this year? Wow. Plz no comeback by them tonight.
  20. I remember when the Blue Jays were in the bidding war for Gil Meche, and when he found out that Meche decided to go to Kansas City instead, he flipped out: http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Baseball/MoneyMatters/2006/12/09/2704207-sun.html There's an awesome quote in there from Ricciardi saying "We might've dodged a bullet" when Meche signed with K.C. Apparently he was just pursuing him for show?
  21. Torres is quickly becoming one of my favorite Brewers. Cards go down 1-2-3 in the 9th. Now it's all on the Rays, could we possibly gain 3 on the Cubs and Cards in 3 days?!
  22. Where the heck was Hardy playing? How does Counsell get to that ball first.
  23. Remember when the Brewers blew a 5 run lead in the 9th to the Phillies last year? I thought that would be the most painful home loss of the last two seasons, but apparently the bullpen has other ideas.
  24. Unebelievable, most of this crap with two outs too. By the way the Cardinals have 4 runs in 26 innings against the Royals, think they miss Pujols?
