  1. Sucks for UW-GB, but it's been obvious for years that ranking isn't involved in the selection/seeding process, at least for the men's tournament.
  2. I found that article too, but it said he was 27. He was a senior in '03 so I'd think he's closer to 30, which would make me assume that article is a couple years old. I searched for like 15 minutes but there's no easy way to find their current coaching staff. It's like people don't care that much about Montana basketball or something?!
  3. Speaking of nostalgia. Is he still an assistant with Montana?
  4. I'm kind of surprised by the two of you thinking Syracuse will lose before the second weekend. Out of curiosity, what's the basis for that? And Creighton would be able to score on UNC, but they play little to no defense.
  5. I'm pretty sure Marquette gets Lundquist and Raftery which isn't any better. I don't mind Raftery if he's speaking normally, but unfortunately that doesn't happen very often. Lundquist is somehow only 71 but you'd think he'd approaching 90 with the way he calls games sometimes.
  6. I'd be interested. No preference either way. If the Murray State/Colorado State game goes 2 hours, then Marquette will start 35 minutes after Wisconsin. Hopefully we see overtime in the first game to prolong the Marquette start a little bit. At least this way we should be able to see most of the first half of Wisconsin before MU starts.
  7. I know that Vanderbilt shoots (and makes) a ton of three's, but Wisconsin defends the three very well. Other than that nothing really stands out that much for them. I'm not sure exactly why Davis would say that, other than the fact they beat Kentucky a few hours ago and he probably felt like he had to make a bold claim.
  8. Anyone else find it strange that two of the last four at-large's got a 14 seed?
  9. And Wisconsin could make a run to the Sweet 16 in the same regional before getting destroyed by Kentucky. I don't really see either team dropping seeds at all, which are still likely 3 (MU) and 4 (UW). Maybe Florida State jumps up to a 3 and takes a spot from Marquette, but I think Michigan and Georgetown (just going off Lunardi's bracket here so who knows) are weaker 3's than Marquette so they should be alright.
  10. To be fair, I was at a Brewers/Twins game a few years ago where the Brewers won game 3 of the series to avoid a sweep. Walking out of Miller Park there were a couple Twins fans in the middle of everyone and a "Screw (but rated-R version) The Twins!" chant started. There are drunk idiots everywhere. Also, I completely agree with whoever said they can't believe Twins fans and Vikings fans are the same people. It's like two different worlds.
  11. I haven't been able to see a lot of Marquette games this year because I don't have Time Warner Cable, but that might've been the most frustrating game to watch except for the Vanderbilt game. They constantly tried to dribble through double teams and push the tempo when it just wasn't there. Hopefully they can still get a 3 and a favorable draw. Also I really don't have a good feeling about Wisconsin tomorrow for some reason. Indiana playing well + it being in Indiana makes me fear an easy IU win. And not that it has any bearing on tomorrow's game but I know UW's recent history in the BTT isn't good.
  12. If you're worrying about a physical confrontation, then yes I'd think you're worrying too much. If you can take the Braun's a cheater comments you should be fine. I highly doubt anyone would make verbal personal attacks on you because of your Brewers gear. Like other people have said, if a fan is going to do something stupid, it won't be because of the Braun situation.
  13. I totally understand the argument that the auto-bid should be given to the regular season champion as opposed to the tournament winner. I've already seen two conference tournament finals where at least one team in the final had a below .500 conference record. That said, the automatic bid going to the tournament winner goes along with the "win or go home" nature of the NCAA tournament. There's a reason all four number one seeds have made the Final Four once or twice. And totally agree about the great conference tournament finals the past couple nights. The four games Monday night all went down to the final minute and/or overtime, and there were a couple more very close games Tuesday night. It really makes me miss when UWM was really good in the middle part of the decade and being able to see them clinch a bid a couple times in Milwaukee.
  14. What's the motivation behind splitting up the two lefties in the rotation?
  15. Buzz said Gardner is probably at 80%, but who really knows I guess. There was also a funny quote from Buzz about him returning, "I think he's tired of hearing from the doctors and the trainers," Williams said. "He's probably at the point emotionally where he needs me to holler and scream at him so that he'll progress the rest of the way." Also, Joe Lunardi currently has Marquette as the top #3 seed and Wisconsin as the top #4. It's crazy to think each could get a 2 and a 3, but realistically they'd both have to probably win at least two games in their conference tourneys.
  16. Well, at least it's not as bad as expanding the NCAA tournament to 65 and then 68 teams in recent years. Does anyone know why the 2-3 format for the Divisional rounds is only for 2012 at this point? Something to do with next year's realignment?
  17. Toronto needs to be higher than #11.
  18. I don't have Time Warner and it's blacked out on ESPN3. Why wasn't this game on national TV to begin with?
  19. I assume they have to actually be currently together? I mean otherwise Talking Heads would dominate my list. Rolling Stones Neil Young & Crazy Horse (supposedly a tour announcement coming soon) The Cure Lou Reed (though I heard his Lollapalooza show a few years ago sucked) I'll second Explosions in the Sky, Daft Punk and Spoon. There's plenty more current acts I'd love to be able to see, but those three would be right at the top. I'd put The Shins on here but I'll probably see them at Bonnaroo.
  20. Well that would explain why I've never heard of Big Time Rush. I honestly just figured it was some country act or something. Looking at Ticketmaster, it looks like lawn seats for The Beach Boys are only $10? I'm pretty sure if you buy them at the Marcus Box Office in person the fees are very minimal, if not non-existent. I can't imagine that not being worth it, even considering how old they appeared at The Grammy's.
  21. Berggren, I presume? Indeed. I wanted to find a picture of him all jacked up like after his go ahead three yesterday, but instead came across that in Google images and thought it was pretty funny.

  23. Bruiser has to lead the country in fouls 80 feet away from the basket.
  24. Yeah, I've been worried about him eventually going to Texas since day one.
  25. I guess we'll just have to hope Lucroy isn't kept in the 8th spot to focus on his defense, or whatever the reasoning was last year.
