  1. Reading about the Buzz thing before it happened you'd think he pulled a Terrell Owens on the Dallas Cowboys midfield star from a few years ago. He jokingly danced for 2 seconds and those students looked like they were ready to maim him. It just makes me love him even more to be honest. Totally not looking forward to the day he leaves.
  2. ^Watching Iowa the last two games you'd think they're about 12-2 in conference. It probably helps that Gatens is now 14-19 on 3's in his last two games. Sometimes it's just bad luck when you run into a guy that hot.
  3. The Bucks have been out of contention and playing meaningless games in April more often than not the last few years. It certainly hasn't stopped them in the past.
  4. Just curious, but why do you think that? Marquette's not going to win the conference, but they're very likely to get a top 4 spot so they earn the double bye. Obviously it'd help their seeding if they can win against a pretty good team on the road (in a tough place to play like you said), but it's far from must-win or anything.
  5. It's insane how well both DJO and Crowder are both playing. There's really no way they shouldn't both be first team Big East. I feel like you could make a case for either being POY as well, but that'll probably be Kevin Jones. The fact that they outrebounded UConn just shows you how unbelievably hard they play too.
  6. I've always been a big fan of both, but UW is definitely #1 for me. That said, I think I have to agree with you. It's heartbreaking watch Wisconsin play offense. There are multiple laugh out loud worthy offensive possessions every game, it just gets hard to take when you follow a team so closely. As far as Marquette goes, all I'm hoping for is a top 4 finish and a double bye into the Big East quarterfinals. Honestly, pretty much every remaining game for them seems to be a coin flip, except for Rutgers at home. I really wouldn't be surprised with anything from 11-7 to 14-4 in conference. 12 or 13 wins is probably the most realistic, though. It'd be nice if Gardner could play at all the rest of the way.
  7. Its been a long time, and I am not saying he is the better long term NBA prospect, but it seems like DJO is playing at a higher level than Wade did his final year at MU. He gets to the basket like Wade and finishes, but when he gets hot with the outside shot he is unstoppable. Last I checked, he was looking like a mid second rounder though. I hope he can sneak into the first round. Of course I don't remember where I found it now, but I was checking out a couple mock draft sites the other day. One had him something like #41 overall, but another that was updated Sunday had him as the last pick in the first round. If he keeps it up I wouldn't be surprised with that.
  8. I went to the Marquette game yesterday and would just like to say that DJO is 10 times more impressive in person. It's just insane how explosive he can be on fast breaks or just getting to the basket in general. I can think of at least three and 1's he had where I still don't know how he made the shot. His draft status has to be skyrocketing.
  9. Yeah, this game was definitely a microcosm of their season in various points. Obviously the 8 minute stretch to end the game showed how poor their offense can look, although this was definitely to quite the extreme. At the same time I thought they played great defense for pretty much the entire game. They were absolutely hounding Minnesota on the Gophers first few offensive possessions in OT. They seemed to have quite a few blocks again too.
  10. Five minutes into the Marquette game and I already hate Jack Cooley as much as I hated Harongody.
  11. I'd start with Party Down. I was sick last year and watched all 20 episodes in about 3 days.
  12. Player of the Year: Rickie Weeks*, because I'll cynically/pessimistically assume Braun gets suspended. Pitcher of the Year: Zach Greinke, think he'll have a "bounce back" year. Rookie of the Year: Mat Gamel. Most Improved Player(s): Zach Braddock. Biggest Drop-off: Nyjer Morgan. Just don't see him repeating last year and I think the whole "Tony Plush" thing will lose some steam. Questions Answered: 1) Who will get the first contract extension? No idea on this one. Don't know what but I've got a sinking feeling Greinke won't be extended for whatever reason. 2) Who will be the first traded away or released (off the expected 25 man roster)? K-Rod. 3) What position in the NL Central will the Brewers finish? Second place, 88 wins.
  13. Ewing Theory?
  14. Agree completely. There have been a number of games where on 2 or 3 consecutive possessions Berggren will get nice inside looks and then they'll completely abandon it. I feel like I might have mentioned it earlier in this thread but against Indiana he had two great moves on Zeller in the first couple minutes of the game. I don't really remember them going to him inside at all after that. I'm excited about Kaminsky in the future too, he has a really nice shooting stroke. I've only seen him take 5 or 6 free throws in conference play but every single one's been dead center. Also looked really good on that three off the pick and pop with Taylor in the second half against PSU last night.
  15. What'd you say to him?
  16. Yeah, 10-12 foot jumpers from Evans are fine. I've seen him take WAY too many 15-18 footers though in Big Ten play. Other than that he has been great. Did Berggren get hurt last night? I don't remember seeing him in the game the last 8 minutes or so. He did an outstanding job on Zeller.
  17. I only saw the final five minutes of of the game but it's hard to disagree with this. His acting job on Bogut's sixth foul was embarrassing.
  18. Personally I'd like to see them get rid of all the play in games and keep it at 64 for forever. Can't imagine anyone (who doesn't make bank off the extra play-in games) being against this.
  19. It's huge that Berggren stepped up the way he did. At one point in the second half he had 5 of their 12 made field goals. I thought they did a good job of getting to the rim too. Brust and Evans each had a couple nice dribble drives where they got easy layups. It'd be nice to see that more often.
  20. If 8-10 in the Big Ten with their OOC schedule/results gets them in the tournament, well, I don't know what then.
  21. Nope, they've never been in.
  22. Not sure if this is what you were alluding to, but this is pretty crazy. http://deadspin.com/58782...-paterno?tag=joe-paterno
  23. Based on what?
  24. Denver already has multiple fast-break baskets after made shots by the Bucks tonight. This is beyond poor "transition defense."
  25. I'm a bigger baseball fan as well, but scoring isn't the only thing that makes sports interesting. I'd much rather watch a pitcher's duel than a 12-9 slugfest with 12 pitching changes. Honestly I just think there are a lot of people who don't have the attention span for baseball.
