  1. I said on Friday after they were 5-1 on this road trip that if you told me a week ago they would have a winning record on the road to St Louis, Houston and Minn that I would have been happy. But now I have to say I would have been happier if they weren't swept in Minn. But I still think a winning record on a road trip is a good thing.
  2. Lawrie was hit in the face on a grounder up the middle. He was covering the bag on a hit and run and the ball was just to the SS side and when he reached for the ball it took a bad hop into his nose. He had a pretty bad bloody nose leaving the field. Probably wishing he remained a catcher, at least the mask would have kept his face intact.
  3. Looking forward to tonights T-Rats game at KC. Beautiful night for baseball.
  4. If it happens soon, and the Chicago Tribune is reporting Peavy prefers to stay in the NL so is still deciding, we face the Sox in mid June.
  5. I get it as part of my subscription to the magazine which has gotten to the point you can read it in 30 minutes so not sure if i will renew it or not. But with ESPN blocked by my work I barely read anything on ESPN anymore unless its a front page headline on my blackberry. But before it was blocked there wasn't much that made it worth the cost if I was paying for it outside of the magazine.
  6. Also, any word on Capuano? I remember reading early in ST that he hoped to be pitching by now or sometime in May I thought. But I also may have heard he had a setback late in ST.
  7. Why? Are they trying to redeem themselves from making #3 which was a horrible horrible movie.
  8. I read the same thing. I think it was the article on brewers.com on Rivera hoping to be healthy by 5/14 to come off the DL and start on Bush's turn in the rotation since all the starters would get an extra day with the off day next Monday.
  9. It's hard keeping track of all those towns west of the Hudson River so why even bother.
  10. This is the second time in 2 days I read an article that points out Prince and Rickie were LL teammates. How did I not know this before?
  11. My wife is friends with Cory Hart, not sure if its him or not though.
  12. I know everyone is excited to have the little Brewers back in Wisconsin but a 5 hour, 40 minute pre-game show it a bit much I gotta say especially on a work day.
  13. I thought the same thing last night, his bat waggle was still there and I thought I heard he stopped doing that. Need to see a side by side comparison.
  14. Also I noticed in the Chicago paper today that the game will be on MLB Network with a delayed start at 4 PM CDT for those not in the Milwaukee market and with the MLB Network.
  15. Brew Crew, I was thinking about this earlier today and I agree with your projections. It looks like both Littleton and Julio are out of options too, so are those two along with Gwynn and Lamb most likely gone? Duffy would be added to the 40 man and does Nixon have any choice other than go to AAA?
  16. The zoo is good but the Animal Kingdom (owned by the SD Zoo) is a must see. It's out from town and very spacious so the animals have plenty of room to roam. And skip the Old Towne it wasn't that good unless you like alot of the same shops selling overpriced touristy things.
  17. I am heading down on Wednesday night. What is the schedule for practices in the morning? Is it easy to catch the practices?
  18. That is the way I calculated it too that Yo is set-up to pitch opening day. But as Ben Sheets pointed out a couple springs ago when the same situation was pointed out to him that he was lined up to opening day, "counting is just counting."
  19. My understanding from what I read yesterday is that the buyout is only if Looper exercises the option and the Brewers decline it. If Looper declines the option, he is a free agent regardless of what the Brewers do and no buyout needed.
  20. I read a quote from a fan in the Tribune today that said she hoped the new owner kept the current spending that the Tribune has done in recent years going to keep the tradition going. I guess the tradition of not winning for 100 years is important.
  21. Born in November but nothing compares to Spring - green grass again, seeing robins again, the car window rolled down and the sweet, sweet sound of Uecker on the radio.
  22. Do they start the same time as the Brewers? We are heading down the first weekend of March so would the minors be training already?
