  1. My expectations were more like dlk9s', especially once I saw Mitch Williams was assigned to be the guy in Maryvale. Makes me wonder what on earth they do for the Astros' segment. "Welp...last year in the senior circuit!"
  2. This one's on FSWisconsin (MLBN outside the Brewers' market), and brewers.com says there's a free webcast. Here is the starting lineup for our beloved visitors: CF Carlos Gomez LF Logan Schafer RF Nyjer Morgan LF Ryan Braun CF Carlos Gomez 3B Aramis Ramirez 1B Mat Gamel C George "Gun Show" Kottaras 2B Brooks Conrad SS Cesar Izturis LHP Chris Narveson Edited 1:50 PM CDT, per Brewers report that Braun was scratched from today's lineup with a tight groin. For those of you who can catch the FSW telecast, enjoy BA's "grow-an" pronunciation.
  3. The best part was when Narvdog used the phrase "gun show."
  4. pitchleague, I'm just glad you're safe.
  5. I found a 10:54 clip of Hooked On Classics on YouTube. Somehow I got through 7 minutes of it. No offense, pitchleague (unless you were being sarcastic above), but I thought that was weird even when I was a kid and it was newly released. And I was an extremely uncool kid.
  6. We have ball-glove plates, but decided against personalization once we realized that our vehicle is already quite identifiable. We do, however, have a prototype bf.net window cling in one of our side windows. When colbyjack was around here more and doing his graphics thing, he experimented with a cling and sent me a few. (I still have the others in case anyone wants to be my new best friend.)
  7. The beat goes on. Here's the anticipated starting lineup for your Brewers: 2B Rickie Weeks CF Nyjer Morgan LF Ryan Braun 1B Travis Ishikawa SS Alex Gonzalez DH George Kottaras C Jonathan Lucroy RF Norichika Aoki 3B Cesar Izturis LHP Randy Wolf No Wolfottaras battery, but both Randy and George are in the lineup. This is MLB.com's free game of the day.
  8. How about ROCKIN?
  9. Ball-glove or 'modern' M?
  10. Weather permitting, here's who will start for the Brewers in Maryvale today. Everyone wave in that general direction, as EdgarDiazRocks is reportedly there. CF Carlos Gomez RF Nyjer Morgan C George Kottaras 3B Aramis Ramirez 1B Mat Gamel LF Caleb Gindl 2B Cesar Izturis SS Edwin Maysonet RHP Tyler Thornburg
  11. Yeah, thanks for making the thread. I selfishly decided to take advantage of the crazy nice weather for outdoor tasks. I completely forgot about the FSWisconsin telecast, but I was able to draw in just enough 620 to hear the Brewers' lone run score. Yay?
  12. Yeah, I suppose all it takes is for enough people to either "upgrade" to a preset package or buy in for the first time. It seems like a longtime fan's choice customer should get some cred vs. a brand new preset customer, but I don't think that's the Brewers' formula.
  13. The Brewers' lineup vs. Kansas City at Surprise: CF Carlos Gomez Nyjer Morgan RF Nyjer Morgan Norichika Aoki 2B Rickie Weeks 3B Aramis Ramirez 1B Mat Gamel SS Alex Gonzalez C Jonathan Lucroy DH Travis Ishikawa Jay Gibbons LF Norichika Aoki Travis Ishikawa RHP Yovani Gallardo And the Brewers' lineup vs. Seattle at Maryvale: CF Logan Schafer 2B Eric Farris RF Caleb Gindl 1B Brooks Conrad 3B Zelous Wheeler C Martin Maldonado DH Paul Phillips LF Kentrail Davis SS Edwin Maysonet RHP Marco Estrada Edited KC lineup to reflect Carlos' late scratch with a stomach bug, and the roster musical chairs that followed.
  14. Yeah, don't question The Weatherman. I did just start a spring/summer/fall weather thread, should you want to contribute there. But we'll keep this open for the all-but-inevitable next turn in the roller coaster.
  15. Because it was 82 degrees in Madison yesterday, March 15. Plus if this video from the Ann Arbor area isn't spring/summer/fall weather enough for you, I don't know what to tell you. (Note: Some of the audio is NSFW)
  16. For whoever isn't watching basketball...today's starting lineup for your Milwaukee Brewers: CF Nyjer Morgan RF Caleb Gindl LF Ryan Braun 3B Aramiz Ramirez 1B Brooks Conrad C Jonathan Lucroy 2B Cesar Izturis SS Eric Farris LHP Chris Narveson
  17. I've been in "watch the mail like a hawk until tickets arrive" mode for almost a week now. Once they are here, my fever will be full blown.
  18. http://bizofbaseball.com/docs/MLBSocialMediaPolicy.pdf MLB has released a social media policy. The link above is a PDF of the policy. The link below is a Hardball times assessment. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/14/major-league-baseball-releases-its-social-media-policy-and-its-pretty-good/
  19. Every time I see another Kurkjian impression, I think of this Brady Bunch gold from back in the day.
  20. I'm not sure if Buckhunts has made the transition to this new forum location. We'll look into it. Thanks for the reminder.
  21. Your Brewers' lineup for Wednesday, March 14 at HoHoKam Park. All hail the return of Wolfottaras! LF Norichika Aoki CF Nyjer Morgan 2B Rickie Weeks SS Alex Gonzalez 1B Mat Gamel C George Kottaras RF Carlos Gomez 3B Cesar Izturis LHP Randy Wolf Chicago's north-siders: RF David DeJesus CF Marlon Byrd SS Starlin Castro 3B Ian Stewart 2B Jeff Baker C Geovany Soto LF Reed Johnson 1B Anthony Rizzo RHP Randy Wells Play ball. Stay healthy.
  22. Yeah, I have a day job and was working at it yesterday. Sorry. The Brewers dropped a pair of split-squad games on Tuesday 3/13, falling to the Mariners at Maryvale 7-4, and falling to the A's at Phoenix 8-6.
  23. One of my Facebook friends posted a photo he took in a Twin Cities-area Target yesterday showing a display of University of Montana basketball t-shirts. That's taking anti-Wisconsin to a new level.
  24. Yeah, I still remember parts of that crazy train run like it just happened. After UW beat Fresno State I remember thinking, "phew, at least they won the game they were 'supposed' to win." Even I could tell that Arizona was the weakest of the 1-seeds that year, so I wasn't as surprised when the Badgers won that game. The one that surprised me was LSU. Did they not have tape of the Arizona game, or did they just not care? Anyway, when it came down to Purdue (sorry, TheBwaz), I thought, "whoa, they can beat Purdue. We saw them beat Purdue in the regular season." When the UW/Purdue game ended, the S.O. and I sat in stunned silence for a moment. Then our phone rang, the first of several "Do you believe it?" calls we got. I stuck my head out the side door of our house and was surprised to hear random whooping all over the neighborhood. There was also a helicopter stationed above Regent Street - to this day I have no idea why. It wasn't the MedFlight and Madison doesn't have a traffic chopper. Then we went to the stadium to welcome home the Badgers at 12:30 AM. The east side of the stadium was full. It was an all-ages crowd and everyone behaved. I think it was partly out of fan shock that things didn't get out of hand. It was evident that the players didn't expect this big a welcome-home. This is my all-time favorite Camp Randall Stadium memory.
