  1. Welcome back, baseball. I've looked forward to you since the evening of October 16.
  2. Welcome back, baseball. I've looked forward to you since the evening of October 16.
  3. At the risk of nitpicking, the only marquee game in April this year is Friday 4/6. The Sunday 4/8 game is coded as a "blue" game in the Brewers' new pricing structure (blue/gold/marquee). So the face value for Field Outfield seats (like section 108) on 4/8 appears to be $42.00. 4. I was going to ask what experience anyone's had with Sprint inside the keg. Friday will mark my inaugural game-with-a-smartphone.
  5. FYI, GhostofQuantrill was banned last week. BFdotnet protip: Don't post early on that you joined specifically to ruffle feathers - no matter what team you favor.
  6. Plus you picked the Brewers to follow - when it would probably be tempting for someone from outside the US to just gravitate toward a huge-market club. High five! I look forward to meeting you, for real, later this year.
  7. Don Walker at JSOnline also posted today about some new food items - for those of you who don't want to wait until state fair time for deep fried food - and some price changes for existing food items: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/146144135.html Deep-fried bacon, deep-fried cheesecake, funnel cake fries. These sound too deep-fried for me, but maybe they sound more appealing to you.
  8. The Brewers close out the 2012 Spring Training campaign at Chase Field. This is scheduled to be on FSWI and is also MLB.com's free game of the day. 2B Rickie Weeks CF Nyjer Morgan LF Ryan Braun 3B Aramis Ramirez RF Corey Hart 1B Mat Gamel SS Alex Gonzalez C Jonathan Lucroy RHP Shaun Marcum Play ball! Stay healthy! See you Friday!

  10. Whoops, sorry, took a nap and missed the start. Here's tonight's starting lineup, including Wolfottaras and Corey Hart! 2B Rickie Weeks CF Carlos Gomez LF Ryan Braun 3B Aramis Ramirez RF Corey Hart SS Alex Gonzalez C George Kottaras 1B Travis Ishikawa LHP Randy Wolf For the Snakes: 3B Ryan Roberts 2B Aaron Hill RF Justin Upton LF Jason Kubel CF Chris Young C Miguel Montero 1B Paul Goldschmidt SS Willie Bloomquist RHP Josh Collmenter Seems like I was just typing in most of those names in October.
  11. It's kind of like a day-night doubleheader, only in different cities with different players and opponents. So really, not much of a doubleheader at all. The Brewers' split-squad lineup: CF Nyjer Morgan 2B Scooter Gennett C Jonathan Lucroy 1B Mat Gamel RF Brock Kjeldgaard LF Khris Davis 3B Alex Gonzalez SS Domnit Bolivar RHP Kyle Heckathorn For the Cubs: RF David DeJesus 2B Darwin Barney SS Starlin Castro LF Alfonso Soriano 3B Ian Stewart C Geovany Soto CF Marlon Byrd 1B Blake DeWitt DH Reed Johnson LHP Travis Wood Warning (or Notice, depending on how you look at it): The only audio available for this game is WGN.
  12. I don't know why the games are switching between the 2:00 and 3:00 hours. But here you go: LF Norichika Aoki RF Nyjer Morgan CF Carlos Gomez DH Mat Gamel 1B Travis Ishikawa C Jonathan Lucroy 3B Brooks Conrad SS Cesar Izturis 2B Scooter Gennett RHP Zack Greinke Everybody stay healthy!
  13. http://www.news.wisc.edu/20488 Bud Selig's talk topic: Talking Baseball : The Challenges of Communicating in Turbulent Times." This is just down the street from my workplace; I'm hoping to check it out.
  14. Overnight I dreamed that we were headed to our first game of the season. I was pretty happy, until I woke up and realized it's still five days out. I don't need to be April-fooled by my subconscious.
  15. Is it April yet? Yes, it is! Your Brewers' lineup, no fooling: 2B Rickie Weeks CF Nyjer Morgan LF Ryan Braun 3B Aramis Ramirez 1B Mat Gamel C Jonathan Lucroy SS Alex Gonzalez RF Norichika Aoki RHP Yovani Gallardo That's looking just a Hart-beat away from the intended starting lineup, isn't it?
  16. While My Kottaras Gently Weeps or While Wolfottaras Gently Weeps
  17. Back in the saddle. Here is your Brewers' lineup: 2B Rickie Weeks CF Nyjer Morgan LF Ryan Braun 3B Aramis Ramirez 1B Mat Gamel C Jonathan Lucroy SS Alex Gonzalez RF Carlos Gomez LHP Chris Narveson And the host/split-squad Padres' lineup: CF Chris Denorfia 2B Orlando Hudson 3B Chase Headley 1B Jesus Guzman RF Kyle Blanks SS Jason Bartlett C John Baker LF James Darnell RHP Tim Stauffer
  18. Stupid day job (although its earnings allow me to buy Brewers tickets). Here's the last week in review: 3-24: Brewers host the White Sox and lose 6-4. 3-25: Brewers win two split-squad games, beating the host Dodgers 7-1 and the Royals 7-3. 3-26: Brewers visit the Indians and win 6-5. 3-27: Brewers host the Royals and lose 9-7. 3-28: Brewers host the Diamondbacks and win 7-1. 3-29: Brewers host the Reds and lose 9-3. 3-30: Brewers visit the Dodgers' split squad and win 9-4.
  19. http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120330&content_id=27774308&vkey=news_col&c_id=col&partnerId=aw-8985078768295481551-996 Jamie Moyer, at age 49, has been named the no. 2 starter for the Rockies. Let the grampa jokes commence. Actually, I'm moderately impressed/relieved that there is still an active player in MLB who is older than I am.
  20. http://onmilwaukee.com/images/articles/br/brewerseaster87/brewerseaster87_story2.jpg I think the "Easter Sunday 1987" mojo outweighs the "dude is now the CHC manager" vibe.
  21. Even I want to see Anchorman 2. After I (finally) saw Anchorman all the way through, there were so many wisecracks and quotes from this forum that I finally understood.
  22. Ah, nuts, that's right. Our box had no parking passes in it. Thanks for reminding me that I have to get hold of the Brewers for those (or at least the ones for next weekend).
  23. Yes. USPS Priority Mail. We also have an opening day plus package; it arrived in the same box as the Sunday plus tickets. I think if you don't have them Wednesday, it's plenty okay to touch base with your ticket rep. It'll happen. It always does.
  24. Getting away momentarily from The Thing that plopped down in Miami...may I use this thread to express my utter amazement at the name STL has assigned to its kids' club? http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/images/2010/02/04/mQTLgcJT.gif OMG THEY USED THE WORD CREW, JUST LIKE THOSE THUGS IN MILWAUKEE! Won't someone please think of the children?
  25. Yeah, sometimes; but Bernie's wardrobe tends to stay within the palette of Brewers team colors. The Thing in Marlins Park looks like it covers way more of the color spectrum.
