  1. What in the name of secret sauce is that thing on Ryan Doumit's face? /horrified Edit: T Bone, if you didn't catch it earlier in the thread, channel 87 is carrying the broadcast on Charter in Madison.
  2. Welcome back to the lineup, Jonathan! It's time for the ceremonial first wearing of my custom Lucroy t-shirt. P.S. Stay healthy.
  3. If Charter has it on 87 in Fond du Lac, that improves the odds of it airing on Charter 87 in Madison as well. I won't be able to consult the program guide until I'm at home, though.
  4. I'd like to see the Bucks game moved to tonight. Everyone would win, right? pebadger, you should send the comment about your stunted enthusiasm over the spotty TV coverage to the Brewers, if only to see if you get a response. They seem to be reasonably customer-focused, and as such should want to know about this.
  5. On the individual up-side, I can finish my taxes tonight without feeling like I'm missing out on something better.
  6. If whoever is in RF slips on the wet grass and pulls a muscle, who would you rather it be? Just trying to find a silver lining.
  7. Of course, I thought of this immediately upon hearing the news. Maybe Sharpie will try to bring them down from the inside. Also, ESPN says this deal is done.
  8. At least (this time) they are done going one-man-short in the bullpen, in the hope that Saito won't need a DL stint. I know it's a balancing act and every injury is different, but it bugs me when they clearly wait too long to take the DL plunge with a player, and fans are stuck watching the bullpen twist in the wind.
  9. On the bus ride to work today, I was listening to the whole game recap again, and realized how much I enjoy the way Bob booms out "FIEEEL-der!" after a Prince home run...along with enjoying the instant epicness of his call of Casey's blast.
  10. That is a drag, if not a complete surprise. I wonder if the Brewers still have a custom T-shirt place at Miller Park. Last year I had a Lucroy shirt made during a game in the terrace level Fan Zone. I checked this last homestand and the custom counter is no longer in that location, but I didn't visit the field level stores to see if they're there instead. The shirt I got last year would never be mistaken for a "real" shirsey like the one you tried to order, but the name/number font was the same, and it was about $10 cheaper than the mlb.com custom order. Could be worth a try. Your post reminds me that I was going to publicly (well, forum-wide) offer $5.00 to anyone here who gets a Brewers license plate customized with PLUSH, and provides non-photoshopped proof (ideally in-person proof) of same. So there is my offer, because it would be awesome.
  11. chadomac, those may be the preliminary 2011 schedule magnets handed out last fall. I was a bit surprised that this year's home-opener magnet features no players. On the up side, there should be no magnet jinx of any player as a result.
  12. Yep. As we first heard the recap on the car radio on the way out of the park, I realized that this one would be worth downloading. I often have my Walkman on during cubs games, in an attempt to drown out the visiting fans. I had it on during that play yesterday and heard the beginning of Bob's call, but then things around us got pretty loud. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif One of these days, when we are in our loge seats, I'm going to try to remember to turn around and see for myself how Bob is reacting to a big hit. Usually I'm distracted, though.
  13. I'm kind of stunned that there are watch boxes in a nearly unbroken line from northern Wisconsin down through like Oklahoma - but the southern two tiers of Wisconsin counties are not in any watch. Stay safe, those of you in the paths.
  14. I'm not going to lie; I was mildly surprised to not see bensheeps' kids on the videoboard. They also didn't peek over when a foul ball landed a few rows away from us. I suppose it's still spring-training for the fan experience. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. I wonder if Jump Around was intended more to generally kick off the Brewers' offense, rather than being Rickie's song.
  16. Both Friday and today, we had relative success exiting the Molitor/Giants lot onto Blue Mound, taking the first cross street to Wisconsin, and Wisconsin was pretty empty from there to the Hwy 45 exit. We'll never get home in 20-25 minutes anyway (unless the Brewers implement Star Trek style beaming technology). I doubt this would work as well after a weekday game, but traffic seems to be worst after those games no matter what.
  17. But Kotsay is starting in RF with Gomez in CF. I'm not usually very outwardly critical of our managers, but Kotsay starting over Morgan right now is asinine Well, that's why I said some threads. He obviously is overlooking the Nyjer thread.
  18. Yeah. I give an anti-shoutout to the season ticket holders in 217 who sold out to cubs fans today. Though to prove I'm not a blind homer, I also give an anti-shoutout to the subset of Brewers fans who decided to wear their rudest cub shirts to this game. I'm not sure the answer to invading cubs fans is to dress down to their level. Fortunately, the silent majority had reason to get loud by the end of the 8th. Good thing Casey pwns the Cubs, because Yovani certainly didn't this time. It was terrific weather - the storms even held off - and I am looking forward to 70s and 80s highs returning to the norm. Yuni B has still only hit in games we've attended, and we can't go on this road trip; so the next week-plus might be tougher on the Crew.
  19. Per the Brewers' Facebook page, it looks like Counsell will start at 3B in the series finale. So RRR is at least reading some Brewerfan threads.
  20. I read this and thought to myself, "Self, Invader has probably just guaranteed a Gomez start in Sunday's finale." Within five minutes, I saw the Braun-Gomez-Kotsay outfield lineup on the Brewers' Facebook page and sighed a little. Perhaps the cement is still settling.
  21. Well, the SPC prediction for today remains "moderate" and wasn't changed to "high" - so we've got that going for us, which is nice. The current forecast makes it sound like the storm threat begins after 4:00, so an open roof is enough of a possibility that I'll bring sunscreen.
  22. The Weather Channel's "TorCon" tornado-condition index rating for Wisconsin Sunday is 8 of 10. Yikes. And with the fun already starting to the west, I am predicting sleep deprivation for myself tomorrow.
  23. Nice all around effort. It's hard not to love shutting out the Cubs in front of a capacity crowd. Keep it up on Sunday!
  24. It's supposed to be a sellout or near sellout; but the chat room has a handful of posters too.
