  1. OK, I know it's unclassy and all, but I'd rather have a team with untuckers and players who enjoy themselves. (I thought about adding "than this crap," but that would be too easy.)
  2. How do the rest of you who are still up feel about Randy staying in for the 9th? (Though it's easier for you Cali guys to still be up.) Edit: I'm happy to say never mind! Nice work, Woof. Good night, everybody.
  3. Struggling to hit and committing errors in a meaningful September game...sounds like something that would happen to the Brewers. Come on, Randy. Edit: There you go!
  4. You think it was brutal from a couple of time zones away...I was at the Lincecum/Narveson debacle. And thanks for the reminder.
  5. Dang it, we're missing Buster Posey T-shirt night. But I'll take the early run instead...unless our scoring against the Giants violates the integrity of the pennant race.
  6. Good news for Mark and the Rogers family, and Brewers nation as a whole. Slight bummer for the hawing household, who has tickets for Thursday, Saturday and Sunday in that series.
  7. What I don't understand is when female athletes put on makeup before their events. I try to catch a full day of the girls' WIAA basketball tournament every year, and the players always have makeup on. Makes no sense to me, and I've got the XX chromosomes too! Also, to add another caveat to GAME05's UW-Platteville rule, my brother met his wife there.
  8. I understand the rationale, yet I can't help but think, "Right, because Bush, Cap, Narvdog, Wolf and Yo are 100% solid and have never given up a bunch of runs this year." Like monty57, I'm also wary of Mark Rogers receiving the Estrada/Loe/(probably others I can't think of offhand) treatment by getting irregular work - which you'd think would be the last thing his arm needs. Another reason I'm anticipating and ready for a change in field manager.
  9. Nice rebound to get at least one game. Maybe I'll watch the evening replay (if there is one).
  10. I understand what you're saying, but keep in mind that the current era of MLB does not generate many players who spend even the majority of their career with one team (except those who flamed out early), except for the largest-market teams who can actually afford to retain players for a long time. There could theoretically be no retire-able Brewers for a long time. I realize that number retirement should be a rare thing, but the criteria you list could result in no one ever qualifying.
  11. Well....it's nice to see "In play, run(s)." Of course, that puts it in the hands of the bullpen. And of course, it's been in the bullpen's hands for a few innings already.
  12. Oh, I don't even want to know how bad the error was. And let's remind Astros fans of how much they're paying Carlos Lee to "move."
  13. Yes indeed, and then some. What a shame that you (probably) didn't know about the maternity shirts before baby arrived.
  14. And then the floodgates opened. Sweet merciful crap.
  15. Wow, you posted here within 12 hours of baby's arrival. Call us flattered, and congratulations!
  16. Wouldn't it be nice if 3 first-inning runs held up today like they did last night?
  17. Technically, you never know when KC or Cleveland will have a banner breakout year, or at least a hot June; but practically this arrangement certainly gives both STL and CIN a potential edge. If MLB must hang on to the rivalries, so be it, I guess; but I could do without the home-and-home component, playing the Twins once a year and hosting just every other.
  18. Cory Provus in the Brewers' 7th: "One swing ties the game - here's Carlos." Right, Cory; those statements go together.
  19. Actually, that (regular) season ending series is Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday. I've only taken a quick glance so far, but the arrangement of series looks weird in a few places, and not just by starting on a Thursday and finishing on a Wednesday. If my quick calculations are correct, the Brewers play STL 18 times, CIN and CHC 16 times, and HOU and PIT 15 times. There are only two home series with Pittsburgh. The number of two-game and four-game series seems like more than usual (though I admit I don't know what usual is). Also, check out this stretch: 7/29-31 vs. HOU 8/1-3 vs. STL 8/5-7 @ HOU 8/9-11 @ STL Then 8/30-9/1 vs. STL 9/2-4 @ HOU 9/5-7 @ STL Weird.
  20. In Madison, the Brewers were moved to the alternate station (which isn't coming in well in our house tonight) in favor of primary election coverage. Ouch!
  21. Not to be greedy, but if he's pitching coach for 15 years, I hope they get to more than one World Series. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I could see Ben joining the Walk of Fame honorees, but that would be about it.
  22. Thanks so much, MLB.com, for the live look-in just as the Brewers are losing. Seriously, I can hear individual fan whistles and cheers echoing in MMP.
  23. Nice effort by the Narvdog tonight. It'd be nice if someone could give him a chance at the win. Like maybe birthday boy Rickie.
  24. But now Rickie has the longest active consecutive-game streak on the Brewers! unless Prince makes an unlikely PH appearance tonight.
  25. The Hart all-star jersey I ordered was delivered today. It looks better than I expected, doesn't hang down to my knees, and it has already brought good fortune in the form of Corey's game-tying home run. What's not to like?
