  1. thablingster, who is in New York this week, reports "apocalyptic" rain during the day. It'll be interesting to see if this game is played, without massive epic rain delays.
  2. He almost certainly means two times in a row with the Yankees.I suppose once you've played for NYY, the rest of your life prior becomes forgettable in comparison.
  3. Ooh, clearly jimmyjeromehardy7's cup runneth over that NLDS/wedding day. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Good luck in Feb/March as well! (If it's late February, I'd hope for the 25th if I were you.)

  5. FINISH HIM! Edit: 601! Nice. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0a/US_601.svg/200px-US_601.svg.png

  7. Ahh, Casey, this would have been a fine time to finally break past 99 RBI. Well, hang on, Brewers.

  9. A Selig bobblehead could come with a Gilles lunch accessory. Better that than the infamous "hands in the air" pose! http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/297/170/2002_display_image.jpg?1279026889 More seriously, my early guesses include Wolf (maybe have howling wolves at his feet!), McGehee, Gallardo, and Axford (you've got to capitalize on that one while he's still hot). For the other two - assuming they're bobbles - I really don't know. The 600-save milestone makes sense since the Brewers consider it the highlight of the year, and it would have broad fan appeal. I'd rather not see a bobble for a first-year acquisition; perhaps the 2009 Hoffman bobble was in his contract, but the Brewers were lucky that Trevor was doing well when his was issued. I'd be alllll over a Lucroy bobble, but I don't know if it's his time just yet. Maybe if they try an "unexpectedly early callup" series. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'll cringe if the all-fan giveaways were as blatantly linked to sponsors as Bernie's Kalahari shillhead bobblehead was this April. I know the sponsor name will always be on the base of the bobblehead, but Bernie standing in a splash zone seemed too much. Ooh, I know, here's Lorenzo Cain turning on a Generac home generator!
  10. It was a happy surprise to check the iPod at UW volleyball tonight to find the Brewers with a lead and Ax shutting the door. Way to rebound!
  11. Actually, I'd been thinking of a series split, but now they can theoretically set their series sights higher. I was just at Wisconsin volleyball at the Field House. The opponent was Illinois and they brought a ton of fans. Is it a rule that if you favor a team from the state of Illinois that you have to travel to contests in the state of Wisconsin and be obnoxious? Man.

Dickey has a bit of a serial-killer look in this photo. Here's hoping he doesn't knuckle the Brewers to death. I can't stay to wait for game 2 lineups, so please do add them once they're known (if anyone else is watching). Go Brewers? Try for a split? Edit: I'll get these lineups posted, dad gum it. BREWERS Weeks 2B Gomez CF Braun LF Fielder 1B McGehee 3B Hart RF Escobar SS Kottaras C Bush RHP METS Reyes SS Pagan CF Wright 3B Davis 1B Duda LF Evans RF Thole C Arias 2B Dickey RHP (I was sorely tempted to list Dickey as KP)

  15. This could be the 2010 Brewers in a nutshell.
  16. What the bloody...? Dagnabbit. Well, see you in 2011, Yo.
  17. Hurray for early six-spots! and an early scoring of the Burger Run, with a healthy dose of two-out magic. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Ooh ooh, Corey's up to 98 RBI. Can he catch up to Casey before either reaches 100? (hawing asked hopefully)
  19. You've just given Luis Cruz bulletin-board material. Niese. Real niese. Also, is the Mets' left fielder's name pronounced "doo-dah"? Because that would be awesome - for those of us not named Duda, at least. (Edit: It is. When he plays at Miller Park, I hope Dean Rosko plays "Camptown Races" at least once.)
  20. Let's play two! http://www.rightfieldbleachers.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/yovani-gallardo-710657.jpg http://www.realclearsports.com/blognetwork/inside_mr_mets_head/alg_niese.jpg Check it out: both pitchers wear number 49! Your Milwaukee Brewers: Weeks 2B Hart RF Braun LF Fielder 1B McGehee 3B Cain CF Lucroy C Cruz SS Gallardo RHP Those New York Mets: Reyes SS Duda LF Pagan CF Wright 3B Davis 1B Carter RF Tejada 2B Nickeas C Niese LHP Come on, Brewers. One of my students is a Mets fan and I don't need to get grief from her.
  21. Yeah, have a great October, Albert...watching from the couch, or altar, or wherever you watch from.
  22. The gumbo recipe is the third one I was thinking of. But I'd forgotten about the salmon steaks, so I guess there are at least four.
  23. Well, there you go. Come on, John. Make our late-season attention worth while.
