  1. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'm shocked - shocked! - to hear that "Everybody clap your hands!" bit in the background. Seems a little frivolous for the STL.
  2. Matt Holliday has already been ascending my most-hated players list, with a bullet, not including this upcoming at bat. Come on, Seth. Edit: I suppose that could have been worse. On to Chris "I was schmucked in the face" Smith.
  3. Eww, Patterson in for Cam. That last catch Cam made was terrific, but I didn't like the shock his body had to absorb in the process.
  4. Hawing, why would such an upbeat person say something so grotesquely morbid? Oh, strictly to drive home the point. Though I suppose in this case it was like using a sledgehammer on a flea.
  5. Gone! for Fielder! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif How dare Prince do that so soon after the extra little lovefest for Baseball Jesus over his new assist record. How unclassy.
  6. I would not have guessed that Jeff Suppan and his wife are expecting their first child this month (per Uecker). I did not realize they didn't already have kids. Here's hoping he does not take the Ben Sheets method of child naming, otherwise we're looking at Kendall Rivera Suppan. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  7. I hate when Bob starts thanking everyone in the organization. Not because they aren't due the props, but because it means it's the last broadcast of the year. Anyone up for one more in-game chat? You know where the room is.
  8. If the Brewers win today, the season series will be split 9-9.You are right about the relative dominance at Busch. The Brewers only won 2 of 9 games vs. STL in Miller Park. (I can't believe I was at both of them.)
  9. I'd think the 7 years vs. 4 makes the 7 year deal worse. Imagine seven years of Suppan, for example.
  10. He started the season opener, and he starts the season ender - to the dismay of much of Brewerfan.net. For crying out loud, he even started the spring training opener. http://www.averagebetty.com/images/tortilla_soup_420_2spoons.jpg http://assets.sbnation.com/imported_assets/96485/flotg_suppan_final_medium.jpg Honestly, that tortilla soup looks pretty good. http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/02Zi6Fr3SK4lM/340x.jpg When I hear the two-syllable pronunciation of Joel Pineiro's first name, it always makes me think of Jor-El of Superman lore. Anyway...I'd appreciate not having a loss staring back at me from the Brewerfan home page for the next six months. Please?
  11. They also denied them home field advantage in the playoffs.Yep, Bob mentioned that in the post-game and asked for some Kleenex in his wonderful deadpan style. Thumbs up, Ueck.
  12. I didn't see it, but I'm very pleased the Brewers won. And that they beat STL.
  13. I already don't like him. Or Matt Holliday. Edit: Is Prince OK? Uecker said he hit his head.
  14. Funny, I don't feel any more comfortable at the prospect of Weathers taking over than Bob sounded enthusiastic about it. David, you can feel free to prove me wrong.
  15. Fixed that for you. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Man, would it be nice to see something productive off Mat the Bat, right about now. Edit: I'll take an errant throw, even if the E is misplaced.
  16. Moderately gritty lineup, but ooh ooh, check out the leadoff spot. SS Alcides Escobar 2B Craig Counsell LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder 3B Casey McGehee CF Mike Cameron RF Jody Gerut C Mike Rivera RHP Carlos Villanueva
  17. http://baseballbrew.com/files/2009/08/carlos-villanueva.jpg Bring it, Carlos! Or at least keep things in check. http://blog.nj.com/mets_main/2009/04/large_alex-cora423.jpg
  18. Well, Baseball Jesus had to leave the game. That should be enough. Now, there is a part of me that realizes how much we'd have freaked out, say, 51 weeks ago if Prince or Ryan had to leave a game with an injured finger. But there is also a smaller part of me that would consider buying a Felipe Lopez player tee if it turns out he (inadvertently, STL Nation) contributed to a poorly timed absence for Pujols.
  19. Per a Facebook update by ewizabeff, yes. I'll be first to admit that I don't know what was said, but just the idea of a tour guide taking that tangent makes me mad. If it really was a tirade (she did use that word) and I were a tourist in that group, I'd get the name of whoever runs the tours and send a sharply worded complaint. If a guy wearing a Cubs cap came into my library and I used the opportunity to complain about the Cubs, I'd be in trouble. Ooh, ground rule double for J.J. Keep it coming.
  20. Not after this season. Ewizabeff took the Busch tour today and reported that their tour guide went on an untuckem tirade. Way to make visitors feel welcome.
  21. Not exactly classy, is it? Oh, and don't forget that a 3-and-out in the playoffs would also be 07 Cubsesque.
  22. I'm not really a "pile it on" kind of fan...but with Team Classy the opponent, bring it on. The Brewers literally cannot score enough runs vs. STL to satisfy me.
  23. Tsk tsk, not everything goes Baseball Jesus' way. (Uecker: "Yep, Pujols got a little too fancy with that one.")
  24. Sigh, let's see how long this lead lasts. Listening on the radio, it certainly sounded like a bit of "Chicken Dance" being played on an organ at the Classy Cathedral of the Game. I'm surprised STL would stoop to such entertainment. Edit: Not a fan of Cory's phrase, "just a twin killing away" from getting out of the inning. Edit 2: Except when it works. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
