  1. Well, this game had a bit of a "NCAA play-in game" vibe, in that either team could easily wind up as NYY fodder. Not that that's a particular comfort.
  2. That on-deck circle photo could be a nice desktop image. Thanks for sharing.
  3. This is a third inning for the DET closer, right? Can you imagine Hoffman going that long for the Brewers?
  4. Well, that there were/are too many Carays in sportscasting is an issue on its own. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I settled on the Twins Radio Network. They sound pretty pumped. Edit: Plus the Minnesota commercials are kind of entertaining. Nothing for brats, though.
  5. Psst, Skip is the Caray who died last year. It's Chip in the booth.
  6. That game was also a Brewerfan Fan Fest game. We had a group out in the field bleachers. It was - how do you cool guys say it? - teh awesome. Edit: I'm tired of Chip Caray already. Which audio feed should I listen to, DET or MIN? Quick, give me your opinion before the game ends.
  7. Ah, Jesse Crain, forever a legend in bf.net lore.
  8. Such is the power of Brewerfan synergy.
  9. Well, some prices weren't raised last year, others were. The sections for our two packages are each up $1.00, which I guess is modest.I'd give the loge deal a look if we lived in Milwaukee, and if it included more sections than 210 or 227. I love 217 too much to want to switch. Now, if they'd just release the 20 game package dates (which I don't see on the website yet)...
  10. I guess that would be the silver lining.
  11. The Daily Cardinal at UW-Madison had a funny headline in Monday's print edition, above a photo of the Badgers celebrating with Paul Bunyan's axe. I don't remember the exact wording but the gist was that the Badgers had no need for Brett Favre, since (by keeping the axe) they had their own "old tool." Though we are really heading into Lambeau Leap territory, I'll add that I think if Favre's main goal were to stick it to the Packers, he'd retire today.
  12. I look forward to someday reading a SITUTATIONL HITTING WOAH SOLVDD thread on Raysfan.net (or its equivalent).
  13. Did the guide single you guys out for the lecture? I'd call that crossing a line. It would be like my telling a library patron why his choice of book was a poor idea (which if I did that would land me in trouble).
  14. I'm so not a heavy metal person, but yeah, it's nearly impossible to not get into the whole Trevor time atmosphere. One game we were at this year, the fans next to us got up to leave just as he was coming out. I was incredulous.
  15. Aye, if it comes down to STL-NYY I won't be watching the World Series. Of the playoff field, that would be my nightmare WS matchup...unless Joe Buck's head explodes from trying to keep up with all the Jeter/Pujols worship. Still, that would be gross to actually watch (the head asplode). Phillies don't need it again; STL certainly doesn't; Dodgers...maybe, but it would turn into a Manny and Torre show; Rockies...I guess the least offensive to me overall, but given the competition that doesn't say much. Rock-tober was clever once. Yankees, HECK no; Red Sox, ditto; Twins/Tigers, yeah, either. Frankly, Michigan could probably use the emotional distraction. Angels...I'd be OK with this. The Nick Adenhart angle is the tiebreaker for me. In past years I've tried to live vicariously through people I know who are fans of the teams in the playoffs. Having had a taste of "the real thing" last year, though, I don't want to go back to that method.
  16. Welcome back, Trevor (not that you're likely reading this). Like it or not, re-signing Hoffman has PR benefits. Name recognition and franchise legitimization sound kind of shallow, but if either persuades even casual fans to re-up for 2010, that's helpful - as much as we might wish that the whole fanbase were as diehard as we are.
  17. Heir to the throne. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. The arrival of the Brewers' off-season bugs me.
  19. That's probably a low risk. Also, welcome, Flood Pants; and excellent avatar. I approached this off-season open to the idea of Macha staying and open to the idea of someone else managing, so I can live with this. Had the field manager been the only change made between the 2008 and 2009 Brewers, it would be clearer that Ken was the problem, but there were too many other variables to pin the step back all on him.
  20. I'd like to use this post to express how frustrating it was to lose our DSL in the 9th inning today. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif But I'm glad the Brewers prevailed. Had I been able during the 10th, I would have commented on the irony of #59 being put in the save situation. Is it April 5 yet? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif (I'd settle for April 2 or 3)
  21. Oh, sweet, they played a bit of Hells Bells on WTMJ. Please, Trevor. Do it for the fans who are still paying attention.
  22. Yeah, not going to lie, I'm glad Prince helped out, so it's not all up to C-Pat.
  23. OH, SWEET LORD, PRINCE. FOR THE RECORD, I WAS IN THE CHAT ROOM BY MYSELF WITH RALLY CAPS. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. I can think of a good scenario for his getting that RBI. It'd help if Ryan would get on base.
  25. Not that I would ever, ever take the side of today's opponent, but more than a few of those classy fans must have said the same thing on Friday.Worst case scenario, they complete the comeback and today is kind of like our season in a nutshell, except we wouldn't be able to pin this particular one on either Soup or Loop.
