  1. Some rain, but nothing big on the near west side either. However, I see where Terry et al. were coming from. One poorly placed lightning bolt in a packed Warner Park and you have yourself a bigger problem.
  2. Melvin probably wishes that Peavy and Bedard hadn't gotten hurt. I would say he's not awash in options himself.
  3. Oh, swell, you've just given the Cubs bulletin board material.
  4. http://graphics.jsonline.com/graphics/photographer/28/28656_large.jpg Bring it, Big Seth. We know you have it in you. Ennder, are you saying there's still a chance it'll be Lincecum on Sunday? I'd like it to be otherwise, I think.
  5. So, Rhythm & Booms just decided to postpone to Sunday, due to anticipated severe weather. I guess with a former TV weatherman at the helm, they ought to know. In a Murphy's Law sense, however, this would suggest that everything will blow over Dane County.
  6. When the Brewerfan discount was first announced, I was happy, but figured that with two 20-packs of tickets already purchased (and living outside southeast Wisconsin), we wouldn't have much leeway to add games and thus make use of the discount. However, we did spring for the Memorial Day Dew Deck game, which was an interesting experience (though wouldn't you know, that was the day one of our "ordinary" seats was chosen for the free Wisconsin State Fair tickets - but our friends won, so that was still good). We also bought a small block of tickets for Tuesday's game and I guess I'll find out in a few days what the view is like from those seats. Some of the other discounts have been deeper (Facebook, webgems, etc.), even for mid-summer games, but the Brewerfan discount is often competitive, plus it's just cool that the Brewers have reached out in this way to our community. The service has been attentive and lightning-quick. I did the Dew Deck transaction by phone and the June 30 transaction online. Though we have tickets to many of the remaining home games already, we haven't ruled out using the Brewerfan discount again.
  7. I acquired one via a trade this week and am delighted with it.
  8. If reincarnation is for real, I hope I never come back as a Cubs dugout beverage container of any kind.
  9. (fast forwarding 90 minutes) Thanks, Yuku, for allowing us to fully enjoy this Brewers win. I guess if I have to choose between a W and the opportunity to discuss it online, I'll choose the win. I've no idea what happened, though. Edit: Win Twins! (now I don't mind)
  10. As was I. But it sounds like the bullpen is stirring. Let's hope it comes through in a timely manner.
  11. Yep. Through seven innings, at least, this game is just the kind of thing I needed. Now the goodness just has to last two more.
  12. I appreciate this post! It made me laugh and is lifting my surly mood (as are the Brewers, so far).
  13. I want the Brewers to win. At home we describe the score with the Brewers' first; saves the time of asking "2-1 who?"
  14. As long as it's 17-15, not 15-17. I just finished a crummy work week and my spirits could really use a happy Brewers ending tonight.
  15. Yeah, we noticed Bob Lindmeier insisting on the news Thursday night that the storms will have pushed through by the scheduled start time of 9:30 Saturday night...but part of me wonders if he'd be as confident if channel 27 weren't a major sponsor of Rhythm & Booms. OWBC, you guys in OAS must have a pretty sweet (and climate controlled) vantage point for watching from afar?
  16. Prince wins a home run inning contestant some $$. (I didn't catch the jackpot). Now the next contestant has picked Mike Cameron. Let's keep this going, Brewers.
  17. I am looking forward to seeing interleague play in the Brewers' rear view mirror.
  18. Nice photo of Baker. May there be an opportunity to recreate the moment today. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif This is probably the last day game I can listen to at the library (before my workstation's moved), so make it a good one, Brewers.
  19. Yep, not the kind of "bang" you want with 250,000+ people at Warner Park, plus thousands watching from other sites. R&B was in that position 2-3 years ago, when a storm with rotation was in Sauk County headed southeast, maybe 7:00 or 7:30 or so. We had just stepped out of the Subway at Randall and University and saw major darkness to the northwest, then went to the S.O.'s library to check the radar (which looked as threatening as the clouds did). Then we heard on the radio (remember, bring your radio! tuned in to WOLX!) that they called off the show and we walked home quickly. Given how many people could have been caught out in the open, I think they made the right call.
  20. I just can't keep away from the what's-bugging-you thread today. In my Facebook inbox, I got a message from the high school classmates who are organizing our reunion later this summer, saying that if we haven't received email from them about the reunion by now, to be sure to send them our email address. For starters, my email address appears in my Facebook profile, so if they had just looked, they'd have it by now. Also, since they've taken the time to become my Facebook friend, why don't they just use the Facebook inbox function to tell me what they're going to tell me?
  21. Because June has turned into Teamwide Scufflin' Month around here, and the Twins are involved. Man, it's nice to have a circus play bite someone else in the rear for a change. The only drag is we should have gone tonight and my coworker from Minnesota should have gone last night. Ah well.
  22. I was going to say, Teatoe, I hope that play helped with your Twins fan problem. Please, Trevor. We need you now tonight. And we need you more than ever.
  23. From the Brewers' website: Fans can report problems by texting the number 41513 with the word "BREWERS" -- that part is key -- followed by a space and then their seat or ballpark location and a description of the problem. Should further information be required, stadium personnel will respond via a text message or call.
  24. Agreed, but an overplayed song can inspire just as much anger as a bad one.
  25. We have a Holmes fan like that, and it's awesome. You can have both fans blowing in, both blowing out, or one of each. Ours has a remote and at first I thought, how ridiculous - the window is two feet from my bed. But I quickly got accustomed to the convenience. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Back to bugging, though...I hate moving. My office is half moved, so for the rest of this week I'm bouncing back and forth between two areas.
