  1. Dear Jeff and Brewers: I have been working in a noisy and dusty construction zone the last two weeks, with at least five months left on the project. I could really use a pleasant escape at Miller Park tonight and that requires your cooperation. Playing competitively would be a start, and for Jeff in particular, it begins with you. I'm asking nicely. Thanks. Love you lots, hawing P.S. Tip of the cap, again, to pretendastronaut for his motivational and de-motivational photo choices.
  2. We already have seats elsewhere for tonight, but I'll promote MJLiverock's seat location. Our NLDS seats were in 213 last fall and the view is quite good.
  3. In Madison it'll be on channel 666. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  4. Brewers.com now lists Suppan for Wednesday, Parra for Thursday, Looper for Friday, Burns for Saturday and Gallardo for Sunday.
  5. As much as I'd like to think that Brewerfan had a hand, our role would pale in comparison to that of the Brewers' promotional staff. In addition to all of the in-house promotion, they reach a lot of people on Facebook too. With the move to Miller Park, it seemed to me that the organization made a quantum leap in just about all facets of their promotional efforts. It occurred to me at many an early-2000s game that they had most if not all of the pieces needed for a successful MLB operation, and only had to wait for the on-field results to catch up. The success of 2008 (and near-success of 2007) were the ultimate catalyst. Besides - with apologies to Hall Nation - no all-star vote heavily influenced by Brewerfan would have had Bill Hall placing 4th in the 3B vote. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  6. Brian's off the hook...for this one. Saw the guy and have his name.
  7. Creepy guys who (allegedly) think that a library is an appropriate place to (allegedly) spend the day in online chats with teen girls. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  8. This sounds like something that Gil would say on the Simpsons. http://www.diyplanner.com/files/gil.jpg
  9. 5.625% on a 15 year mortgage, obtained in 2005. I don't remember the closing costs. We applied some of the proceeds of the sale of our first house toward this purchase, which is how we managed the 15 year rate. I'm glad you started this thread, twobrewers; by checking the online account tonight I noticed that our financial institution seems to not have processed our July payment correctly. I guess we'll be contacting them in the morning.
  10. It bugs me when I have dreams about work. They aren't generally nightmares, but I wake up perturbed that I let the workplace get into my subconscious.
  11. I don't mean to be snarky, but the first thought I had upon reading yoshii8's post was, "who wouldn't Pittsburgh trade?" Their M.O. just befuddles me sometimes, and actually makes me feel bad for their fans - though maybe not the foul-mouthed guys on that one Pirates board. Another interesting, if somewhat snarky, thought: what Brewer would I want to see traded to Pittsburgh? Does any Brewer deserve that fate?
  12. bacon06 and I have the same concern about Ryan's comments (he just made the post first). I've been wondering for probably a month now when he was going to say something, though.
  13. Robin and Molly. And those are lovely looking cats. We have a black kitty too (and also one of those red nylon cubes).
  14. brewmann04, I understand you want to get it through Macha's (or Doug's) head, but please believe me, readers of Brewerfan already know where you stand on the issue.
  15. On the up side, though, you found a house? Nice. Keeping this on track, though...everything about the CHC franchise bugs me.
  16. Excellent. Thanks, crewcrazy. I like the way Lilly looks around after the glove slam as if he's thinking, "did anyone see me do that?" Yes, Ted, millions of viewers. I think I can move right on to "Ted Lilly, All-Star Pity Pick."
  17. Someone here had an avatar showing Ted Lilly slamming his glove down on the mound after giving up a dinger in the 2007 NLDS. We need that back, to counteract the "All-Star Ted Lilly" thing.
  18. I admit to being a full fledged believer in the all-star curse, so I don't mind Trevor and Yo sitting out. I'd rather they saved it for the Brewers. If anyone can withstand the curse, I think it'll be Ryan and Prince. No Branyan, anywhere, including the Final Vote...that bothers me. I was all ready to go carpal tunnel for Russell.
  19. Well, Chris did pitch the 9th, so I guess he was that day's closer. But I get what you're saying; it does smack of the kind of fact checking you'd get from ESPN on a holiday, or from ESPN on any team not in their chosen few.
  20. Ooooo, I don't know. A big cookie doesn't sound very classy. That's for St. Louis to judge, not you.
  21. http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/290704116_Brewers_Cubs_133426773_lbig.png This feels good. Brewers: don't forget how fun this is.
  22. This is an ongoing/recurring Yuku problem. Ask 1992casey how much it vexes him.
  23. 11...sorry to disappoint, davego. This gameday photo of Kevin Hart looks like he's wearing a facial hair disguise: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/453954.jpg
