  1. I'll admit to thinking in the wake of that play Thursday night, "No! MLB already lost one player today." So yeah, Friday's update was quite a relief.
  2. tristarscoop, I sent you a PM about the jacket. Edit: For Madison area folks in the men's XL range...Kohl's behind West Towne had one retro therma base jacket, men's XL, for $48.00 (60% off original price).
  3. I didn't get home in time to see the game-ending play live, but I did turn on the TV just in time to see the first replay of it on Brewers Live. At first I thought it was a Brewers Live replay of the game's first run (also scored by Rickie off a Ryan hit), but then Brian A. gave the final score and I shouted loud enough to startle the cats. I'm not sure I would have had 'the angle' from our seats, and might well have been hiding my face out of nervous anticipation - but with the FSW angle Rickie was plainly safe. Koyie Hill's reaction took me right back to Ted Lilly vs. Arizona in the 2007 NLDS. Thanks, Brewers, for saving us the possibility of cubs fans smuggling in brooms Sunday night. (That's bulletin-board fodder for Dave Bush.) I'm looking forward to hearing more tales from people who attended...once they're able. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. There's no chance it could have been "sooooup"? (hawing asked hopefully)
  5. I can't listen until I get home, but I'm looking forward to it. Your 2005 highlights got a lot of listens from me that off-season. Thanks for sharing! Edit: I've got them all now. I'll be doing yard work to the glorious replays from three of the last four seasons. Really a great job.
  6. Brewersradionetwork.com is now sportsbubbler.com. This page also has a link to Brewers Featured Podcasts, including the recap for Wednesday's game. Uecker's already in mid-season form on that Gallardo HR call. Nice. Edit: My 'highlights' question is about video, not audio. Brewers.com doesn't have any 'top plays' for last night's game yet. I just want to see the Yo home run (and my student employees who are fans are probably expecting me to have it cued up by the time they come to work today). In past seasons the video would be available by the next morning.
  7. I don't remember Davey being on the road last year, so that's my guess. We'll certainly find out this weekend.
  8. Hmm, that is a dilemma. I'd say *no* to Cubs fans on principle, unless your wife thinks that to do so to her boss would cause her problems on the job. She'd be the best judge of that.
  9. The S.O. grew up liking Fergie Jenkins, so I'd put in for that ball. Thanks.
  10. Wow. Do you maintain that all season? Before you answer, let me point out that since you started doing this last year, which means the Brewers' are 1-for-1 in making the playoffs since you started doing this. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. I've seen Brewers stuff on at least four people (not including myself) in my library today - students and "grownups" alike. I'm looking forward to checking out the Union at lunch.
  12. I don't want to work. I just want to hang on the forum all day.
  13. Might you be willing to post a photo of your hair logo?
  14. I was wondering why WIBA radio kept saying this morning that Brewers coverage starts at 2:45. I was momentarily concerned that either the Brewers Radio Network was cutting back on the pre-game show, or that it was still a half-hour, but WIBA was once again putting talk shows first. I'm sporting a ball-glove logo shirt at the library today. One of our shelvers is too, and told me this morning that his fiancee wants him to buy her a Corey Hart shirt. And a second shelver is wearing his Corey Hart shirt today. I'm feeling the love, and hope you are too. Happy new season!
  15. Better that than Jose Capellan. Maybe.
  16. FSWisconsin appears to be broadcasting the 9/28/2008 game tonight, from 7:00-10:00 PM CDT. From 10:00-10:30PM is the Brewers Season in Review (presumably from 2008). Just in case anyone wants to incorporate that into their season opening rituals. I have to decide which Brewers shirt to wear to work tomorrow. It might just have to be a t-shirt under a sweater, but then the question is which t-shirt.
  17. This reminds me of a video made by the Brewers organization in the 1993-1994 offseason. It was intended to encourage 1993 season ticket customers to re-up for '94, the silver anniversary of the franchise. At the end they played Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" with everyone from ball players to ushers to ticket taking ladies lip synching to the song. At the very end a bunch of employees were standing out on the field with Bud in front, and they all said, "LET'S STAY TOGETHER!" The production values were amateurish and I think we probably would have renewed anyway, but it's a modestly entertaining use of 30 minutes of life. Sadly, my quick search of YouTube doesn't turn up a snippet.
  18. I can vouch for this. I followed this wise bf.net advice at Coors Field in April 2005 and scored a Rockies magnet schedule for that season.
  19. Please note that the Rules of Conduct have been revised for the 2009 season. Members have received a community message from 1992casey which summarizes the new content and newly-clarified content. 1992casey's message is also available here. Thanks for your attention, and join us in welcoming the new season!
  20. I didn't know that - thanks! Hawing's facebook WOAH SOLVDD. (However, I'm not going to move my previous post out of the what's-bugging-you thread.)
  21. The chat room counter has been an intermittent problem for a while. I don't think we can do much besides notify Yuku, and/or post in the IGT or something that "we're in the chat."
  22. I'll chime in on your question #1. Fan Appreciation Day/Night has traditionally been scheduled for the last home Saturday game. Last year that date (September 27) fell during the Cubs series; fan appreciation night was instead held on Thursday, September 25, perhaps to reduce the chance of the fabulous prizes being awarded to Cubs fans. Fan Appreciation day/night does not currently appear on the Brewers' promotional schedule, but there's a statement right at the top of the linked page saying that promotions are subject to change. The "shirt off their back" game returned only recently after a longish hiatus; in 2007 and 2008 it was scheduled for the last home game. Last year that was September 28, when you could argue the promotion was overshadowed by bigger events. It also does not currently appear on the promotional schedule.
  23. So, he follows up on the Sabathia and Branyan numbers. Let's hope that some of the double-legend rubs off on Casey while he is a Brewer.
  24. Lately, one of my Facebook friends is seemingly online and ready-to-chat 24/7. I can barely log in anymore without this person popping up and saying hello. It's making Facebook less compelling for me.
  25. Imagine a scenario where the lesser of two evils is rooting for Tom Izzo. I guess I'm there.
