  1. We used to have a posticon with a sad teary face. I'd use it on this thread if the topic made me sad.
  2. So, the S.O. reports that someone from the Brewers called him at work today, wondering if he would be interested in a 2009 season ticket package. We've had a package every year but one since 1992, every year since 1996, and we've had two partial packages since 2008. It obviously wasn't our ticket rep (who checked when the S.O. reported our long season ticket customer history, and apologized upon seeing our record). I wish I'd gotten the call. I might have given him the SIEVE chant, in a friendly way of course. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  3. This ought to bring on a Wisconsin-UVA matchup in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge...hopefully in the Kohl Center.
  4. I can live with people in line ahead of me paying by check - but at least have the check partially filled out by the time it's your turn. You know it's going to be payable to Woodman's or Walgreens or wherever; you know today's date; you could even sign the thing, leaving only the amount blank until you know what it is. I wonder what the deal was with the Pick n Save lady referred to by iHARTbrewCREW above. I'm guessing either "deathly afraid of carrying cash on her, thus setting herself up for a mugging" or "so strapped for cash that she couldn't trust herself to withdraw until the moment cash was needed." Either way, weird.
  5. I always liked the old Twins logo (which was used in their TATC jersey; see Ross' link above). If they sold merchandise with those guys and the Win! Twins! motto (which did not appear on the TATC jersey), I'd consider making a purchase.
  6. Well, that's what caught my eye. "Something in his blood" could certainly bring on or exacerbate an anxiety disorder, but a blood test is not how anxiety is diagnosed.
  7. MLB.com link I placed "anxiety disorder" in quotes because that is the phrase used in the MLB.com release, not because I specifically disbelieve the report. However...I live with an anxiety disorder which was not diagnosed via blood test. I wish Dontrelle well, but that part of the report makes me wonder if there's anything else going on.
  8. In the NLDS Gameday program available at the park last October, I noticed they included 1981 in a "Division Series History" section. So a stadium acknowledgment is not fully without precedent. Why they waited this long to consider it worthy, I wouldn't know.
  9. Ohh, we weren't at the "turn ahead the clock" game but I vaguely remember those jerseys, and remember thinking they were garish. Still, there has to be an image on the internets somewhere. Thanks for the link, pebadger. Edit: Hmm, it looks like angelfire doesn't like the linking of its images. I found an article with photos of the jersey and cap (Link to article); I don't see what's futuristic about the jersey, but I do kind of like the cap.
  10. This is my one and only entry onto youtube.? I made it for my wife for our 7th wedding anniversary. Wow, RyDogg, I think there are more photos in that video than exist of me and the S.O. after 19 1/2 years. Nice work, and a lovely gesture.
  11. why do people say "thats my 2 cents" or some variation? I know you're probably only asking rhetorically, but here is Wikipedia's take.
  12. And the 5% kicks in! The winter storm watch was issued at 11:58 AM. I want an "obsessedwithbrewcrew was wrong" umbrella. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I like how the current winter storm watch message gives an estimate for south/east of Madison and north/west of Madison, but seems to leave a mystery swath in between. Oh well, March snow shouldn't last long anyway. Also, Madison apparently needs only .08 in precipitation to make March 2009 the wettest March on record. To paraphrase those wacky baseball fans to the south, it's gonna happen.
  13. Wow, that is a disappointment. I won't take on additional plastic just for Costco.
  14. Maybe you could find a ball/glove patch and have it sewn onto an otherwise plain cap?
  15. You forgot to mention how rediculous we are.
  16. I'm intrigued by Costco, but so far have been reluctant to drop $50 when I don't really know what's there. They do not offer a guest membership like Sam's Club does. My sister's a member, likes it, and has offered to take me some day so I can see it for myself, but our work schedules are dramatically different and our common free time is rare.
  17. I took a look at the NWS forecast discussion, after honuswagner21's curiosity piquing post, and the relevant part appears below. I'm no obsessedwithbrewcrew, but my guess is that the forecast models disagree, perhaps wildly, on how much snow might fall in Madison or Milwaukee. Even the NWS forecast for Madison currently hints at 2-5 inches total, so perhaps the 15 inch bit is from the X-treme forecast model that's always out there predicting something more drastic (hawing said hopefully). 18. I'd promote Chadbourne more, except the housing website says that the building will be undergoing renovation throughout the 2009-2010 academic year. They say they'll minimize inconvenience to residents, but come on, they're replacing the elevators, how do you do that quietly?
  19. I haven't thought of the phrase "Cam Boogie" in six months. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif With the bases currently full of Dodgers and our Manny pitching to their Manny...I hope the Brewers have some more offense in them today. Edit: Curse me for my lack of faith in our Manny. But now it's Riske...and as Jim said, the hunt for a Riske scoreless inning continues.
  20. I agree, though it puts me in a weird spot, as I don't think I'm physically capable of staying up very late (if I do, I regret it for a few days following; I've never pulled an "all-nighter, not even in college), but I also have trouble getting up early.
  21. TV Land has access to oodles of old TV shows, but they still air 3-6 hours' worth of Andy Griffith almost every day. Can anyone explain this? Would I understand it better if I had been born in the 50s instead of the 60s?
  22. Well, here are some tips that make sense. The hard thing for me is staying off the internets before bedtime - especially during the baseball season.
