  1. So. Fellas. How about padding the lead? Please? Sincerely, hawing. Edit: I must not have made myself clear. Two outs on two pitches is not what I was looking for. 2nd edit: My bad. Gameday wasn't caught up and I thought Prince also made an out on the first pitch.
  2. On the outside, I'm saying, "c'mon, Reliever Cappy." On the inside, I'm kind of wincing in anticipation.
  3. Wow, Brian's House is standing firm against the hurricane. Our House, in the middle of the mound. (I always think of that song when one of you uses the phrase "Brian's House").
  4. I'm steeling myself for whatever name pops up on Gameday as the "reliever." Sorry, bullpen, but I think you understand why I'm antsy.
  5. Pitch 3 - In play, run-scoring play Is it wierd if this makes me emotional? No. It's become one of my favorite phrases, as long as the Brewers are batting on Gameday. Rydogg66 even put it in his signature file.
  6. Sure would like to see Starter Cappy get off the hook.
  7. So which is less painful: Bad Chad is out on the first or second pitch, or Bad Chad lasts through an epic AB before striking out, or grounding out, or whatever Out-come?
  8. So, brewerjamie, is this like a quality start for Cappy? (Apologies to those of you not at fanfest. Jamie started deeming Bush's Saturday night effort a QS well before the game ended; indeed, well before Dave was done pitching. That Jamie, such an optimist.)
  9. Swinging Strike (Blocked) Attaboy, Chad!
  10. Why "injury delay?" Help out a gameday follower. Edit: Gameday now has a pinch runner coming out for "Doubles" Monroe. So does that mean I can exhale?
  11. When we last saw B.Chad play in person (the nephew game back on the 11th), they introduced him in the starting lineup, and in the clip where he enters the videoboard screen, he just looked....downtrodden. Downtrodden Bad Chad He looks like a decent guy But he's a black hole. I'd like a better fate for a decent guy.
  12. Trick question. Chad Moeller would never have reached base. That's great, Jamie. But you may have to really crank your smacktalk-o-meter to reach Bad Chad. Anyone for Bad Chad haiku? Brewers' lineup has Big black hole in the 8-spot You know. It's Bad Chad.
  13. Bad (clap clap clap) Chad (clap clap clap) Bad (clap clap clap) Chad (clap clap clap) This is what my nephew and I were chanting the day we were at the ballpark together. Yes, it rips off the Bill Hall cadence.
  14. Hart finally emerges from the darkest part of the dugout. Well, he did have the RBI last night. I'll be chanting "Bad Chad" when I'm able to see he's up on Gameday. I taught my nephew the chant at the Sunday Cardinals game we attended together on the 11th. It didn't change Moeller's output, but it was kind of fun.
  15. 33,119 in attendence enjoying this one tonite. Yep, The hawing party paid to see this one (initially with the expectation that Jamie, ahem, was going to bring our Cooper bobblehead. It's OK, Jamie. We heard your message eventually). Well, Rick, we'll always have that sweet top of the first, won't we? Plus it didn't storm on us on the way home. I hate driving through storms at night on the way home from the Brewers.
  16. Tough break Sharpie, tough break. Sigh. I know. It doesn't help knowing that he's kind of used to it. That hatred I developed over too many poor outings for relievers like Doug Henry, Mike Fetters, Mike DeJean...is starting to germinate for Matt Wise. Well, at this point last year the Brewers were 32-39 and 13 games out. Does that mean it could be worse?
  17. I loved after the homerun call on the radio that there's crowd noise, and Uke makes his horse noise....perfect. I heard that on the radio this morning and was moderately disappointed that it's *not* archived on mlb.com or brewersradionetwork.com. I've forgotten who put together that sweet piece of audio highlights over the off season (sorry), but I've noted several exciting moments and finishes that so far appear to be shoo-ins for the 2006 audio highlights. I "saw" the end of Sunday's game on Gameday as my niece's birthday party wound down. I watched with my six year old nephew who was hoping that Gameday would show Bernie going down the slide. Alas.
  18. Yeah, We heard Jamie's call to WSSP on the way home tonight and I was saying to Tom, "how many seconds - seconds - before Jamie mentions the quality start?" But all the talk (while we were in range) was about Jenkins. The fanfest magic kicks in again; and better yet, at the hands of Bob Wickman. He had too many close calls toward the end of his Brewers tenure for me to like him anymore, so I delight in his blown save. I just watched the 9th inning on tape and although they show a group in yellow shirts, it wasn't bf.net. Ours were more yellowish-orange (kind of a road stripe yellow; good stand-out color choice, Colbyjack, and once again a terrific design) and our group was closer to the top of the seating bowl. We had signs that spelled out BREWERFAN NET FANFEST 2006! and some of those letters made the videoboard. Jimbo manned my camera for that part of the game so I could hold some signs, and did get a shot or two of the signage on the videoboard. The earliest I'll have them ready to post is Sunday night, more likely during the week. Thanks, as always, to everyone who made the Fan Fest fun. Wonderful food (huzzah for Nicole), fabulous prizes, quality shirts, and all around good company. Maybe a little less wind next time, but better wind than rain. It would be nice if we could do this more often, but even once a year is special. On edit: I admit, as hopeful as I was during the last at-bat of the game, I was simultaneously standing and clapping, and thinking "GIDP." Sorry, Geoff. Thanks for proving me wrong.
  19. One of my employees discovered this week that he is a distant relative of Jake Westbrook - second cousin or cousin removed or something. However, since he has never met this guy, he intends to cheer the Brewers tonight (from Madison), and has given me the green light to heckle Westbrook. Such loyalty. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif We're leaving shortly. See some of you pretty soon. Go Brewers!
  20. Yeah, but what I meant was, come join the few and proud of us in the chatroom. It's a nice night and so far, a nice game.
  21. Guys, there's crickets chirping in the chatroom now.
  22. Well, This is pleasant, so far. Ronnie Belliard's body language doesn't impress me any more now than when he was with Milwaukee.
  23. fleece blanket give-away for some fans They should save that for September. It's 90 degrees with a mid-60s dewpoint in Milwaukee right now, and one of the last things I'd want to carry around at Miller Park tonight is a fleece blanket. (That's if I were going tonight.) Go home team. One of my library colleagues is a Tribe fan and I don't want him to have a reason to talk smack on Monday.

    Game 4 recap

Sorry to hear it, guys. So, I take it there isn't a 10-run mercy rule?
  25. I am curious if you always check to ensure that this is my weekend to work. I believe it's MLB who checks before creating the Brewers' home schedule. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
