  1. Is there a roll call (or I suppose roster) for the shindig? I'm just curious to know who we'll see/meet...besides brewerjamie, brewermary and the increasingly famous Kapelluscheseses. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. Ahh, the haiku fest When I won the broken bat What fond memories.
  3. Oh well, great outing by Villanueva. I'm going to choose to focus on that. A quality start from a 'replacement' pitcher.
  4. Gameday is looking grim. C'mon Dan. Surprise me. EDIT. Crap. And I'm not entirely surprised. Well, way to hang in there as long as they did.
  5. Perhaps it's just me, but this game seems to be draaaaaaging onnnn and onnnn... getting sleeeeepy.... It's not just you. But for me, it could be that we've been without AC at the workplace since last Thursday and it's now 80 degrees in here. Come on, Brewers. Justify my attention.
  6. Nope, but I did have a ham sangwich minus the clutch. Where did you grow up? My S.O. says Sangwich, which I'd never heard of before I met him. He's from Kenosha. Sorry, carry on, guys.
  7. The only way we win this game is with someone hitting a solo home run. That, and a Brewer has to shut down the Reds in their half of the inning.
  8. Well, how about Winklesas or Simpson now? That's code for "giving up the ghost", right?
  9. We Brewer fans in the library officially are ready to kick Geoff's butt right now.
  10. Bill (clap clap clap) Hall (clap clap clap) Live up to the T-shirt motto. Edit: Maybe more specifically, *don't* leave up to G-Whiff.
  11. So what time are you setting up the no-doubt-fantastic spread?
  12. I've always preferred a pitchers' duel to a slugfest, but let's get some runs, Brewers.
  13. Huzzah for Sharpie! Sharp enough tonight. Here's hoping they keep up the good work Wednesday.
  14. Whoa, Peavey moves on. All hail Zach Jack.
  15. A bunt hit by the pitcher ends up tying the game...ugh. And it's Freakylegs, no less. Hmph.
  16. Arroyo has a 60 inch inseam according to the Red's media guide. My height is 63 1/2 inches. Wow.
  17. Sharpie needs his A game (and I don't mean minor league A) tonight. Criminy, what do you suppose Bronson Arroyo's inseam is?
  18. I could only wish that I had hawing's chex mix skills Wow. My day is made. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. Huzzah for Zach Jack. Way to battle back, guys.
  20. Zach Jack in line for the W...do your job, Derrick.
  21. I hope that doesn't get into his head... Well, as I was typing "I hope not too", he seemed to get that K effectively. C'mon, Zach.
  22. FSN usually replays games either late at night or during the next day. Indeed, the newspaper TV listings indicate a noon - 3 PM CST rebroadcast on Monday. TV Guide.com says 1-4 PM. Either way, I'll pop in a tape. Thanks for the tip!
  23. During the Yost ejection 'conversation', when it looked like Jenkins was also going to be tossed, someone behind us shouted "Eject him! Eject him for a month while you're at it!" I smiled and wondered if it was a bf.net poster. A hot (or at least warmer) Jenkins bat would certainly help, but in terms of permanent changes to make, I'd rather see the "crap heap" pitchers go. They are little more than fuel on the fire. It's tiresome and depressing to watch G-Whiff continue to golf at ankle high pitches, but that's not what causes the crapfests like Friday night's. Gord talked about the stats/scouting issue in-depth for about a half-inning and he's been sharing a lot of information about the team's philosophy, the things that different players need to work on, the tendencies of the hitters and pitchers, etc. It's glorious. I had fun at the game today (so did the nephew, thanks in part to the home runs), but now I wish I had put a tape in to capture the Gord Ash commentary. Does anyone have a recording? because this probably won't happen again unless Schroeder has other kids graduating. And not that anyone here would probably have noticed, but my nephew (with me sitting next to him - we had matching ball/glove logo shirts on) made the Dance Cam toward the end of the game. I thought I was safe in the terrace level.
  24. The Brewers are 2-0 in games where hawing started the IGT. So here goes. My six year old nephew will be seeing his first game today. Here's hoping the home team gives him a reason to actually want to return.
  25. "Never Surrender" is the title of the ESPN game recap. That's not a bad phrase to describe this team and its general gritty battling effort. The tune itself, however, seems lacking in motivational ability. The tempo isn't right for that. Still, as long as Young Corey's the man, I pick it over Sunglasses at Night as a pop culture catch phrase.
