  1. Hills comments are subtle and a lot to take in. https://behindthebuckpass.com/2021/01/07/milwaukee-bucks-george-hill-dishes-bucks-departure/ If the Bucks approached him in the right way, I think he'd be open to come back.
  2. https://wisportsheroics.com/alando-tuckers-secret-plan-backfires/ Here is a non-paywalled version. It's (certainly) not unbiased, and certainly not a complete take, but you get the gist of what happened.
  3. With so many guys under team control, and Escobar being 32, I'd find it highly unlikely for Stearns to put a lot of effort into pursuing Escobar long term.
  4. I can now breathe easy with the Brewers using Axford tonight. Counting on one (or two) walk(s)
  5. Using 19 shots per game to average 22 points is definitely not efficient. The league TS% was .572 last year and Westbrooks was .509. Sure, he *can* score, but it's definitely questionable whether or not a guy who shoots as poorly as he does should be putting it up almost 20 times a game. Win Shares, BPM, pretty much any rating system you use, don't really value Westbrook a lot. He's a counting stat guy. He's the baseball equivalent of a guy who gets 200 hits while 170 of them are singles, and plays mediocre defense and doesn't take any walks. The Lakers got him for spare parts and whatnot because that's all he's worth. He's a big name who's full of empty stats. He can fill up the sheet without doing anything of any real note.
  6. Jinx, you owe me a soda.
  7. From what I'm reading, the Bucks can still sign PJ for up to 15.1 million (not that they should) and still have the 5.9 million mid level exemption. They're actually sitting in pretty good position right now, all things considered.
  8. 2 years 9 million? That's a great deal. What a huge deal for the Bucks.
  9. Brewerfan.net community, covid has been a frustrating and difficult issue for everyone for well over a year now. After a thoughtful discussion amongst the mods, we have decided to close this thread. Above all else, we are a community of Brewer fans and baseball fans. This thread has proved to be divisive and If anything, most of the points have been rehashed multiple times. We all understand that this is a topic on everyone's minds, but the information and news and data that everyone wants and needs is readily available elsewhere on the web. We feel it's in the best interest of the Brewer fan community that we move on at this time from this topic. If you have any questions please feel free to PM a mod. Thanks.
  10. Dennis Sarfate. Dude struck out a lot of batters in the 100-ish innings he pitched in MLB ball. Problem is, he walked a LOT of batters as well.
  11. He's got a body of work that says he's a pretty good pitcher. This super small sample isn't going to make me think anything different yet.
  12. Cubs have gone 8-22 and lost 12.5 games in the standings since June 24th, the last day they were tied for 1st.
  13. I'm not sure if this is official yet. I know there's a lot of activity going on and things are changing by the minute but just as a general request, let's make sure that these are absolutely locked down as official before we start posting these in the MLB forum. Thanks guys. I'll leave this open unless something changes because it sounds like it's a done deal. Like I said though, let's make sure these are locked and signed and sealed and delivered before we move them to the MLB forum going forward
  14. Yeah. The guy who's going to lose some at bats is Peterson, and that's okay. We rode his bat while it was hot, but I don't think anybody expected him to continue throwing up an .800+ ops over the long haul. Peterson is still a fine tin fitting option. He can still spot start if needed, and be a late inning defense guy.
  15. Yeah, but not the way I was hoping... Unless Escobar extends, I think this rental is going to be about as bad as the Garrett Cooper dump over the long haul. I think you’re over valuing Cooper. Guy has a career 3.5 war in 5 years, 1.2 of that coming this year. And now he’s out for the rest of the year. Decent player but nothing to fret about. Also is 30 years old. I guess.... to be fair, and I suppose someone has to play Devil's Advocate (gulp) we got 2 innings out of Tyler Webb, and he gave up 6 hits and 2 ER, and then the following spring SD claimed him off of waivers from us. So yeah. GC has turned out to be a decent bench bat/part time player, but Tyler Webb was just nothing for the Crew.
  16. I'm guessing that Hummel's 84 games of catching experience weren't going to make the Brewers just find their all star .850 OPS catcher to be obsolete.
  17. It sounds like (as it has all along) that the biggest hurdle here is communication. And yes, just because Rodgers is an "employee" doesn't mean that Gute or whoever shouldn't feel obligated to communicate with the employees. Does that mean they need to run every roster cut by the guy? No. By no means am I saying that. But after hearing him open up a bit today, it definitely does sound like just overall communication has been lacking (from both sides). I get Rodgers side of it, even if I don't fully agree with his line of thinking. I hope they can get through this season and be a cohesive unit on the field and in the office and make a strong push to the SB, because I think 2021 is gonna be it here.
