  1. That's what I didn't like. Give up one run. You're starting with a man on 2nd in the bottom half. You give up one to keep (hopefully) the bigger inning from happening. Couple of strategic head scratchers from CC tonight.
  2. It's nuanced. If not for covid, we wouldn't have had Suter out there in the 9th, but also, at the same time, the game very literally should have been over regardless. I see both sides of it. Sorry but this is all on Avi. 100%. I mean sure. I said that, but there's also another side to that.

  4. When it’s a large market team that it affects. I wonder what the actual rules are on this but I can't seem to find anything concrete. I'd guess it has something to do with a team asking for a postponement or maybe having more guys catch it at once than they can replace in the time frame needed to field 26 guys. I looked around as well, and couldn't find anything specific. I wonder if a team can just say "hey, we've got too much close contact/trace contact" and ask for a postponement until they can get tests back. Honestly, I feel like the Brewers HAVE to be at or near that point. I obviously don't want the Brewers playing double headers later in the season or trying to play 35 games in 36 days, but we're reaching critical mass for available players, and the team has to look at what scenario is realistically more viable for the long term strength of the team over the course of the rest of this season and their playoff future.
  5. That's the excuse in a lot of industries. "Someone else will gladly take that (crappy) spot." It's a poor excuse (and to be fair TPlush, I'm not attributing it to you). Baseball can get away with letting MiLB players live in poverty and what almost amounts to squalor because someone else will, if given the chance. That's an absolutely pathetic reason/excuse or whatever else you want to call it. "here's your bread sandwich with a ketchup packet, eat it and like it or quit if you don't". MLB doesn't make money off of minor league baseball, but MiLB sets a foundation that MLB would find tough to exist without. I'll stop short of saying "something has to change", but something definitely should. Whether or not it will obviously remains to be seen.
  6. Let's not forget the spelling of Lou Palmisano as "lou palsmo" and the excellent run-on sentence.
  7. Jeremy Jeffress currently has an 11.17 ERA in 10 G / 9.2 IP with 14 K / 8 BB / 3 HR pitching for the Lexington Legends of the independent Atlantic League. Is that bad? I feel like we'd have to look at the rest of the stats for the league and go with League adjusted/fip/era+, but yes, I feel like that's pretty bad.
  8. Can't say enough about the job CC is doing right now with the situation the team is in with all the missing parts.
  9. I mean, he's been pretty good this year. 3.33 ERA and a 3.34 fip in 14 starts. It's not like he's some schlub who hasn't had any success this season. I get that but he certainly doesn't wow you with a big arm or ridiculous stuff. Well, we aren't the only team that's struggled against him.
