  1. Sanchez already pitched. But yeah, if you thought the Brewers were going to score 3 runs in the top of the 10th against Reyes then throwing Hader in the 9th is a genius move. Without hindsight, it was the right move. If it was 6-7-8 hitters, I'd agree that saving Hader is the right call, but facing Goldy, Arenado, and O'Neill, I don't want someone else out there. You can't pitch the 10th if you don't make it.
  2. Having time to soak it all in, game 6 was it. That was the most amazing, almost transcendent performance of this generation in a clinch game. Seeing that play out with *our* guy just refusing to lose and putting it all out there Ina championship performance trumps everything else....imo.
  3. Reds sweeping the Cubs for the rest of the season is so far not going well.
  4. Brewers at 97.2% to win the div, per fangraphs. Cards at 0.4%
  5. I was lead to believe something very different, sir.
  6. Levering and Grindel have been talking about how Burnes has been struggling to locate the cutter, not using his change, has been just laboring tonight, etc, etc, etc, and I have been half listening while working on a project and posting here, and I'm like ..... "I don't recall the Cards getting a hit yet", and I check the box score and sure enough, they don't have a hit. Like.... wooooooof... tough crowd!
  7. Blame Levering. He literally can not get to the 5th or 6th inning of a no-hitter without talking about it. It must cause him physical pain.
  8. I mean, he does have 137 punchouts this year in 148 innings. He's no Jacob Degrom, but he's striking guys out.
  9. Guy hit well in Colorado, and hit like poo on the road, and now can't hit anywhere. I'm ok with bringing him in as minor league filler, but I hope that's all he is.
  10. Agree. Though you should hear the Cubs broadcast. Places in the batting order have sponsors... Good grief. I'm mildly annoyed every time they mention the walk right in walk and the mac fund double. Having every spot in the order sponsored would turn me into a rage beast
  11. Maybe it's just me, but the amount of time the radio guys spend trying to peddle cedar crest ice cream feels downright oppressive at times.
  12. Brewers are somewhere between 90 to 95% for the division. And yes, most projections take remaining schedule into account. Instead of focusing in on those One out of 10 or one out of 20 scenarios where the Brewers don't win, I'm just going to focus my fandom on focusing in on the 9 out of 10 or 19 out of 20 where they do. Doesn't mean I'm not acknowledging that they could potentially blow it in a random odd scenario, but bringing up every day a weird odd scenario where they crap their pants and don't make it just seems unecessarily negative. Imo of course.
  13. They may be asking about the spider tack because anything they can use to attack his character would prove useful. That would be my assumption in that case anyways. If he has previously lied about using spider tack, what else might he lie about? And yes, it sounds like a stretch, but these are lawyers we're talking about, and they will use any thing at all to get to where they want to go.
  14. The Pirates beat the Brewers by 10 runs like 3 days ago. The Reds aren't going to sweep the Cubs and Pirates the rest of the way out.
  15. I mean, in all honesty, a world title for a kid who was even 2- 3 years old at the time probably doesn't mean diddly.
  16. Diamondbacks Tyler Gilbert throws a no hitter in his first career start. 8th no no this season.
  17. The Brewers are up 8 1/2 games with less than 50 to go. They technically "could" blow the lead. They shouldn't. They probably won't. If someone wants to mention daily how/why/when/if, I mean, that's their prerogative, but I personally don't know how leaning into that kind of anxiety can be enjoyable. I'm not gonna look over my shoulder at the Reds unless/until it gets down to a couple game lead.
  18. One of the local meteorologists was speculating if the air humidity from the cornstalks caused the ball to travel a little further. There could be a number of factors..having an open outfield wall with no structure behind it may have had an impact. Lots of guessing, really, and with the tiniest of sample sizes, we'll probably never know. Yeah, I'm 100% sure that there's nothing sketch going on, but it was interesting that they put a lot of stock in this game, and .... I mean... look at what happened. This is the type of game that you kinda hope makes casual fans or non-fans watch and go "wow that was fun/interesting/exciting!" The most common complaint I think we all hear from non fans or casual fans is that baseball is boring, and last night was not boring.
  19. I'm guessing they're riding out his 20 days and then will probably DFA him. Keep him around the 20 days just in the off-case/worst case that one of our CI guys gets injured, and then let him go or even DFA him and see if he'll accept an assignment if he clears waivers. Might not be a bad idea to keep him around just in case (if he would even want to)
