  1. Devin Booker has really come into his own, adding Chris Paul, and DeAndre Ayton Is a legit big man. They kind of snuck up on people for sure but they are A serious threat in the West.
  2. I think it's a concern anytime a team with the Brewers finances sign a guy for 5 years or more. You're really rolling the dice with that person's health. I think it's fair to be concerned with yelich's long-term health and also be hopeful that he can continue to live up to, or come close to the expectations that he has in a given season for himself.
  3. It doesn't matter what Marcum was in 2011. What matters is how pitchers are being used in 2021, and nobody is going to be tossed out there in early April for 8 innings or 110 pitches or whatever. The NL is averaging 5.2 IP per start, and 83 pitches per start by a starting pitcher. The AL is averaging 4.9 IP per start, and 83 pitches per start. There are STILL people who say (maybe not here, but you know the type) "we need to get a guy who consistently goes out and gets 7 or 8 innings every time out!" That literally doesn't even exist anymore. Pulling Burnes or Woodruff at 77 or 83 pitches is the way the game is managed now. People can disagree with it, but that's the way the game is played.
  4. Yeah, I feel about Correa the same way a lot of people felt about the possibility of getting Machado back in 2018. I just wouldn't feel clean about rooting for the guy. I'd do it, if he happened to help the team win games, but I wouldn't feel awesome about it.
  5. Yeah, I hesitate to call UCLA a "cinderella" story. They were an underdog, but they are consistently a top 25 team, and have eleven national titles.
  6. I got Moderna #1 today. I got it in the shoulder that I already have a nerve impingement in, so if it hurts/is sore, I didn't want to be a zero armed man. Kinda stiff and sore tonight, but not terrible.
  7. Un. Real.
  8. A funny thing to mention as we talk about watching live sports, is whenever my wife will go to the Live section on YouTube TV, she without fail mentions that the first one third of the channels is just sports stuff. So for YouTube TV subscribers who want to watch sports, there is plenty of it. Apparently the only thing we aren't going to get is baseball for hometown fans because it's blacked out. I've never had a problem finding football games, basketball games, any kind of sports. I know they've been cracking down on illegal streams, so I probably won't even go that route this year, I'm just going to listen on the radio. It is what it is until Sinclair and these streaming services find a way to meet in the middle. I'll watch the highlights on the Facebook rewind
  9. If I don't like almost any of those choices, I can go somewhere else to get a different vehicle. or cell phone, or eat at a different restaurant. I guess it's not really "blackmail" to only provide MLB games to cable subscribers, as everyone has the choice to simply not watch. Watching baseball isn't essential. but it also doesn't make sense to cut out a huge chunk of your possible subscriber base and ad revenue by not making SOME kind of deal with streaming services. But, to each their own.
  10. Giannis putting a beating on the Blazers in Portland tonight. Wow.
  11. I'm glad it's set up this way. Nobody wanted to see zags/baylor in the semis. UCLA is gonna get clowned.
  12. Michigan had a super clean look at a 3pt and Wagner just completely whiffed it, and then Eli Brooks takes a no look shot over his back/behind his head with almost 10 seconds left on the clock. Dude, you have time to set, dribble, look for someone, ANYTHING. Don't just blindly throw the ball up in the air. You're down a point.
  13. The amount of attendants they had/have that couldn't make change or fumbled and wrestled with bills was astounding to me. You have one job.... I also think if they're going to have people pay using the app, it would be eminently helpful to have a LOT of signs up in and through the lines leading up to the attendants telling people to have their phones out and ready (this really actually probably won't help, lol) with their bar code or whatever they plan on using, but people are just gonna people and probably this won't save any time.
  14. He's a catcher and he's (almost) 35. Not really that surprising. Just not a lot of guys can catch into their mid to late 30's and stay effective. Really takes a toll on the body.
  15. Odor is not a good ballplayer. He's had an OBP above .300 twice, he has one bat skill (power) and he plays average defense. In 6 full years, he's amassed 7.2 total WAR. He's Hernan Perez with a little bit more power without the positional flexibility. I can't see a team giving up anything of value for him.
  16. Griffin and Aldridge have both been not good for a few years. Now that they went to the Nets, everyone's up in arms calling them the East champs already.
  17. My first bucks game was Alton Lister poster night.
  18. I never thought I'd log into a Bucks post-game box score and see Thanasis as the leading scorer. Missing (virtually) the entire starting lineup, and almost beat the Knicks.
  19. Chronologically, a lot of the events of the movie make a bit more sense now, and there's a lot of small loose end plot threads that kind of don't just hang in the breeze. I have never had a problem with the Snyder slo-mo action scenes, so that didn't bother me. I enjoyed the fleshing out of the backstories of the characters a bit more, if maybe the exposition was a bit drawn out at times. I think it could have been closer to 3 hours than 4 hours and still gotten as much out of it as we did.
  20. Yes 15 is odd I guess you could explain 5 by him not liking the service received. But even at 10 that is an alarming number. I haven't ever hired a personal trainer to give me a massage, but this does not sound normal: Doe 15 alleged in her lawsuit that when Watson “eventually flipped over onto his back, the towel fell off [and] … Watson was completely naked and exposed his ***** to the Plaintiff. Watson also moved his ***** onto Plaintiff’s hand. Watson had ***-********* leaking out of his *****, which got onto Plaintiff’s hand. Plaintiff felt like she wanted to vomit.” https://www.yahoo.com/sports/the-lawsuit-that-is-most-problematic-for-deshaun-watson-014827728.html That doesn't sound good at all for Watson. Phone and text records are going to show that this is either all smoke in the wind or not.
  21. 24-39 from 3-land. I think it would be a statistical impossibility to lose when shooting like that. Wow.
  22. If that's true, it's probably likely the people who told him to bring the bag are dangerous to say no to. If he has family still in Mexico, this is a very possible hypothetical scenario. These guys families are pretty easy to target, and especially some small time guy like this probably doesn't have much in the way of security or whatever. $500 bucks could be an "or else" offer. Obviously all hypothetical, as we don't know the rest of the story, but it happens.
  23. Yeah I don't think it's a case of the Big ten being overrated so much as it's just a weird year with a weird tournament. Lots of higher seeds getting knocked out. I will be surprised right now if Gonzaga doesn't finally take it home. They have been annihilating everybody they play. That being said I won't be shocked if they lose, but I think this is their year. Watch now this is the year a double-digit seed wins the whole thing
  24. The Royals signed Salvador Perez to a 4 year, 82 million dollar extension, that starts in 2022. He's a catcher, and he's going to be 32 when the extension kicks in. He's a GG caliber catcher, but again, he's gonna be 32 when that extension kicks in, and he's a pretty bad OBP bat with decent power. Last year was the first time since his rookie season he had an OPS over .800. I just can't imagine throwing that many years at a 30+ catcher when you're rebuilding.
  25. Offense picked a bad time to go into a funk.
