  1. Lock might suck, but he might not. I think he's got a higher potential ceiling than Teddy B. Maybe he doesn't reach it, but in Lafleur's offense, he's got a chance.
  2. Packers with Chubb, Lock and Risner would go 9 - 7. Broncos with Rodgers would go 8-8. I'll take it.
  3. I don't wanna trade Rodgers and I'd take that deal right now before Denver could change their mind
  4. Dude on ESPN picks Miami over the bucks in round 1. I don't like the matchup but Bucks in 6.
  5. Feyereisen wasn't going to go the whole year and not give up any runs. He had a bad outing and the defense played uncharacteristically bad. It happens. Luckily the offense showed up today and they didn't waste another brilliant outing by Freddy. Nothing to be super negative about. They won on a day when the bullpen and defense both crapped the bed.
  6. I like Arcia, I Like the energy and drive he plays with. I think baseball is better with guys like Arcia in it, so I hope he plays well and gets back up to the show.
  7. Giannis scored 40 points on 18 official shot attempts against the Pacers tonight. Pretty hard to be more efficient than that. Not a lot of defense in this one.
  8. Yeah. Kind of a shame. Would have loved him to get that one last run in front of the fans... Not to mention he'd have been a decent option as a platoon partner for Shaw, given his career OPS of .980ish against southpaws... This is just like a running gag at this point, right?
  9. I've tried defending JBJ for most of the season, and I still think his bat is gonna come around and he'll end up throwing up an OPS around .700-ish and obviously play great defense, but as others have said, for a team with the Brewers resources to pay what they're paying JBJ to be a 4th OF/insurance guy, or whatever he is, it's just not a great allocation of resources. And if a dude gets 450-500 at bats, he's a "starter". Arguing the semantics of that is like looking at an NFL stat page and seeing a WR who got 85 catches, but is only listed as having 3 starts, because they started every game in a jumbo package on their first series with 2 TE's and 2 RB's. They're paying JBJ to be a 'starter', whether it's 45 games in each spot in the outfield, or 120 games in center, or whatever. He's a starter.
  10. One thing's for sure, there's going to be no quick fix. There's a lot of guys underperforming. Cain, JBJ, Huira, you can probably put Vogelbach in that bunch too, I would suppose. There's a general lack of offense around the league, but even with that, the Brewers are dead last, so the Brewers are underperforming according to league standards. I don't thin Shaw is underperforming, based on what he did the last few years. He's just not a great hitter anymore and expecting 2016-2017 Shaw is unrealistic. We've had a BUNCH of dudes go on the IL, and with that, we've had a LOT of PA's get eaten up by replacement level, and below replacement level guys like Maile, Pablo Reyes, McKinney, etc, etc, etc, etc. The problem is made worse by the fact that we don't have anyone ready in the top levels of the minors to step in and play at the MLB level right away. Firing the hitting coach is 90% likely not gonna do a thing. "Stearns needs to do something!!!!" probably won't happen in early-mid May. There just isn't a lot of big trades (or even significant trades) that happen this early in the season. And if there's guys sitting around ready to play not on a roster, there's other GM's and teams looking for offense too. It sucks, but this is the position we're in, at least for a while. Yelich hopefully will be back soon, and MAYBE a few of these guys can crawl a little closer to career norms, but tbh I think this is a "this is what it is" situation for at least the short term, unless someone pulls a magic rabbit out of their hat and remembers how to hit again.
  11. Any team's offense will be bad when you start cherry picking and take away their best performances and say "with their best performances removed, they average less runs per game". You don't even need to cherry pick to say "the Brewers offense is pretty bad", so I don't even see the relevance of the exercise. The Cardinals have scored 3 runs or less in 16 games, which is one less than the Brewers, and they have the best record in the NL. The Giants have scored 3 runs or less in 16 games. Even the vaunted Dodgers offense has scored 3 or fewer runs in 16 games. It happens. That doesn't mean the Brewers offense isn't bad, but this isn't a measuring stick of success or failure.
  12. I think it's fair to point out that JBJ is coming off a 2020 in which he hit .283 and had an ops over .800. He's never been a big offensive performer. He's a defense first guy who hits with a (little bit) of pop, and puts up a .720 - .725 OPS. I'm pretty sure nobody saw him regressing this badly. He'll bounce back and hopefully end up around a .700 OPS. It's also fair to point out that Billy McKinney wouldn't be playing every day and putting up his mid - 600's OPS if Yelich and Cain weren't on the injured list at the same time. Wong was injured, which forced other bench guys into the lineup. Narvaez and Pina are injured, which forced Maile into the lineup. The offense has been pretty brutal. Hiura has been brutal. I think the team, the staff needs to take a comprehensive look at what's going on with him. Shaw isn't hitting great. He's getting RBI's because guys have been on base and he's been opportunistic Garcia is doing about what we should expect from him, to be honest. About a .750 - 775 OPS. I can live with that if everyone else is hitting. When guys are healthy, if they find a 1B (hopefully), they can probably be good enough with this pitching staff to win the games they need to win.
  13. Lol the Lakers are fighting to stay out of the play in
  14. 2nd place in the east. Tie breaker over Brooklyn Also, before the season if you said NYK/ATL was going to be an anticipated first rd matchup, you'd likely have gotten laughed at.
  15. Rogers won't make a statement, and really he shouldn't have to. If he reports to camp he'll get asked plenty of questions at that time. If he doesn't, or if he gets traded, the questions are moot, honestly.
  16. He's been hitting against live pitching (batting practice, but going full speed) all spring and hitting well. He said there has been an adjustment, but he's at least going to give it a shot. More power to him if he makes it back. I think more so than depth perception, hitting is timing. If you pick up the spin on the ball, you know if it's a curve or a fastball. Or just guess, which is what a lot of hitters do.
  17. I guess I'm not super worried about the Bucks getting the 1 or 2 seed, so much as I just wanna see them over the rest of the regular season and first round of the playoffs now... really start to play like a championship/playoff ready club. They've had all season to gel and get ready for this. They can win games on the road, I'm honestly not worried about the seeding. If you're the best team, you shouldn't have to worry about beating the sixers and the Nets both. Besides, the Knicks are red hot. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll take out the sixers/Nets!
  18. Yeah, I don't mind stashing the guy in AAA just to use for minor league depth, but I hope and pray we don't end up using him in Milwaukee for anything other than an emergency dude for like 2 innings of a 2nd game of a double header the day after we play a 12 inning extras. He's been brutally bad for 3 years now and he probably ain't pulling a Wade Miley magic act for us.
  19. Yeah, I'll give Manning credit for pooping in Brady's Wheaties a couple times as a huge underdog. Once spoiling his undefeated season. Moreso the Giants D just played really well in those games, but Eli didn't choke and made the big throws when he had to.
  20. Ok, this is the absolute epitome of "dumpster diving". If Logan Forsythe ever sees a minute on the MLB roster, we're in big trouble. He hasn't been even a hint of decent for 5 years. Here's hoping these moves are nothing more than to fill out the minor league roster for the season.
  21. You'd like to think that your WR6 is a pretty inconsequential roster spot, but then you're playing the Cardinals in the playoffs and your only WR's are Jeff Janis and Some Other Guy I Can't Remember. In 96 Free and Brooks got hurt and we were pretty far down the depth chart, to the point they went and snagged Andre Rison. We don't know why the front office didn't keep Kumerow, or why the timing of his release happened when it happened, or if they even cared that Rodgers said what he said, or if they released Kumerow to show Rodgers that he's not in charge, or any of those things, or all of the above, but it does give the portrayal from the outside that there's not a great line of communication there.
  22. 0 would still be the bare minimum id expect. Tbh I'm pleasantly surprised they got 2 in ..
  23. Bengals should be turning the corner any time now if that's the case.
  24. He's probably going to be, because they're paying him a good amount of money, his history shows that even as a pedestrian offensive performer he will usually hit for a little bit of power, and play good defense. Unlike last year when they dumped Brock Holt after 30 at bats, they're probably not gonna give up on JBJ after 30 games. At least I'd hope not.
