  1. Craig Counsell MOTY
  2. For all that, Soler is a 2.5 WAR player this year, a -1.5 dWAR, so despite the massive power surge, he's still worth less than half a win more than Hayward. Soler is right where he belongs, in the AL, where he can (and should) DH the majority of the time.
  3. i'd say that the Brewers still have an outside shot at the division. Since the Cubs and Cards play each other as many times as they do, one of those two teams will have to win those games. I like our chances at WC2, or even heck, WC1, but for the Cards to fall back to us, that likley means the Cubs have won a bunch of games and are then controlling the division. I'm ok with whatever gets the Brewers into postseason play at this point.
  4. Because he hit .387 in AAA, and as we all know, success in AAA always translates well in the big leagues. Case in point, Tyler Saladino and Travis Shaw.
  5. Lefties OPS .787 vs Davies. Lefties OPS .616 and only slug .336 vs Claudio. SOmetimes when you play the percentages the results don't go your way. It happens.
  6. They have a mutual option for $16M with a $2.25M buyout. So it probably really comes down to whether Grandal wants that deal or not. I agree and I think the fan base would absolutely love if he’s was back with that deal. I think Grandal will think he can get more than that. He might. I think given the landscape of baseball and the last off-season and the fact he's 30 and a catcher, he might not. We'll see. I'd hate to see the Brewers go more than 2 years with a catcher at this age.
  7. The ball was nearly on the other side of the batters box the pitch wasn't the problem. He just missed one in almost the same spot on the first pitch. His swing was geared for up and away. If only everyone was Greg Maddux and could just throw darts exactly where they wanted.
  8. And walk under on their own power. Let's not try to read too much into the timing of the announcement. When I was a wee lad of 14 I broke my kneecap into 5 pieces and walked on it.
  9. Well that was over 2 hours ago. I don't know where the closest hospital from Marlins park is, and I don't know how backed up they are (and a lot of modern parks do have X-Ray machines, FWIW) but 2 hours to get xrays and results isn't that outrageous.
  10. I guarantee there is no MRI machine in the clubhouse. If the kneecap is broken they'd just need an xray.
  11. If you're a home team announcer, it's NOT THAT MUCH TO ASK to have the guy pronounce guys names right. It's so crazy that Jerry works with this team every day and doesn't know how to pronounce guy's names.... Pet peeve....
  12. I feel like Peralta is going back to the "Bad" section of the bullpen now.
  13. I wonder what Greg Maddux thinks of all these games where guys are getting into the 70's and 80's pitch counts in the 3rd and 4th innings?
  14. I could be mistaken, but judging by the audio, Yelich was not happy with his popup just now....
  15. Cooper really knocked the crap outta that one......
  16. Why take that big of a lead with a man on third? Wait til the pitch is delivered to get your secondary lead. THere's 2 outs, you can go on contact.
