  1. This is the problem though...ONLY two games out...but when you think about all the chances the last couple of weeks they have had the chance to get within 1 or heck even take the lead again, is what is so maddening. Don't disagree. Just in response to everyone that says "I can't quit/want to quit but can't/ or some variation. THey're still only 2 back so we hang on, because we're gluttons for punishment. Also, just because we hope they can get hot.
  2. We're all still in it because the Brewers are only 2 games out. We won't quit until it's over. And it's not over.
  3. Lots of toolsy guys never become anything more than bad baseball players.
  4. I'd love Rendon, but he's gonna be 30, and if he gets an offer for 5-6 years, I'd absolutely want no part of that. Paying a guy 25-30 million as he enters the later half of his 30's almost never works out.
  5. Got out of it. Not a great inning, but I'm not even mad about that homerun. Not a bad pitch and looked like a medium pop fly to left. Got the top of the order so let's get 2-3 back.
  6. Our position players already have the 3rd highest BB% in MLB at 9.6%, only HOU (9.7%) & LAD (9.9%) are higher. This doesn't make my comment any less true by the way. If they do both they will be a dangerous offense. I do appreciate the stats. I didn't know they were that high. By that token, ANY team that walks more will score more, yes, that can be considered to be true. But when a team is amongst the lead leaders in walks and PPA, I don't think that's the problem with the offense.
  7. Only the Dodgers walk more. But only the Padres strike out more. No one hits worse with RISP. No one has fewer sacrifice bunts. I really don't want the Brewers bunting more. As contact averse as the Brewers are, there's no way I want them purposely giving away outs just to gain one base.
  8. Our position players already have the 3rd highest BB% in MLB at 9.6%, only HOU (9.7%) & LAD (9.9%) are higher. Get outta here with your stats and facts.
  9. I find this injury pretty disappointing from not only a this season thing but also that Woody didn't finish off his good season. Now we will again be looking at his innings next season and I worry if he may be an injury prone guy. He missed few weeks after getting called up in 2017 as well. As much as I agree, I think at Woodruff's age, innings limits will stop being a thing going forward.
  10. Brewers lead the NL in pitches per PA, and are near the lead league in walks, so this is somewhat false.
  11. Been hearing that every offseason since '16-'17. He probably just is who he is. I see Arcia fairly often characterized as immature, or "needs to grow up" or things like this. Is it because he smiles and laughs a bit while he's playing? It would be one thing if people said "he needs to change his approach at the plate", because that's something I think we can all agree on. I don't get where this other stuff comes from.
  12. I can say as someone who's dealt with seizures for about 12 years, most of seizure treatment is trying combinations of drugs to see what works. When something doesn't work or stops working, they try something else. A lot of prescribing is guessing what works, and trying different dosing levels, and when something stops working, or doesn't work, it can be super frustrating. Marijuana is pretty effective for dealing with seizures, regardless of the legality of it. When you're dealing with health issues and doctors are literally just guessing, and you're getting frustrated, I can understand where the guy is coming from.
  13. I think it's that they haven't had a winning road trip? That could be it.
  14. At some point he's going to have to figure out that he can't live down in the zone. I mean... it's just not that hard to figure out.
  15. Lucroy isn't nearly even equal to Pina. Evan Gattis? Sometimes I think people want change just to change. Flop the roster around every few weeks just to see something happen.
  16. Someone in that dugout needs to slap some sense into him. His obsessive overuse of Guerra and Claudio would be comical if it wasn’t so asinine. Guerra has had a solid season despite less than impressive peripherals. He's been steady if unspectacular.
  17. Clint Hurdle is something baseball can moce on from, for all I care.
  18. I mean, in the 5 games since the Cubs series we have scored 30 runs ... not excusing today but still. 21 against the Pirates, 9 against the Rangers in 3 games. Fortunate to get two wins over the weekend with that kind of production. Will probably need more than 3 runs a game against teams like the Twins, Nats, Cardinals, Astros, and Cubs. Alternatively, the rangers were fortunate to get a win in a game they scored only one run in...
  19. I don't think Hader's multi-inning appearances should be scrapped. I think he needs to work on pitch selection and location. There are batters around the league that are seeing him multiple times now and they know what he has. It's not a matter of him having the stamina to throw 2 innings. That is not the issue at all. The issue is Hader firing a pretty straight-as-an-arrow 97 mph fastball in the heart of the strikezone and expecting guys not to catch up to it. When they do, they're hitting it a long ways.
