  1. Good god that was funny but should throw disclaimer in there....... NSFL. (not safe for life) if you can't handle seeing someone puking.

  3. Jerry just said "Yashmani Garndel" Is he seriously drinking a half barrel during the game?
  4. Wow, Odor swings at ball 4, and the Rangers run into an out. What a bail out.
  5. payano has gotten 7 outs and it's taken him almost 70 pitches to do it. Thought last night was ugly? We're doing the same thing tonight.
  6. "You have the sense that he is due" Thanks BA, the dude hasn't hit a homer in over a month....
  7. Well, they had a .500 June, a 12-13 July, and are 4-4 in August, and July has been their only losing month on the season, a month in which they were exactly one game below .500. I think "bad" has become synonymous with "not meeting expectations", and that's fair, but over their last 60 games the Brewers are playing .500 ball, and while not lighting the world on fire, I really feel like people are letting their expectations of what this club really was supposed to be color the facts. "Bad" is definitely subjective, so for my part, I'll say I think a club playing above .500 ball is not "bad", and let it drop.
  8. I get people being frustrated that we've sputtered to a 61-56 record based on expectations, but when people say a team that's 5 games over is "really bad", I look at the Orioles and Tigers and Marlins, and I wonder what THOSE teams are, if the Brewers are "really bad". Watching the Marlins, Mariners, Giants, and Padres pound on the Brewers might give someone the impression that the Brewers are really bad. In a 162 game season, bad teams beat good teams pretty often. Tigers are 2-1 vs. the Yankees so far. Are the Yankees "really bad?" No. The randomness of baseball dictates that even bad teams will win 60-ish games, and probably some of those 60 games will come at the expense of good teams. The Brewers are 61-56, and have the 5th best record in the NL. Characterizing them as "really bad" is just false. Frustrating, sure. Underperforming expectations, absolutely, but really bad, is something I think almost everyone would reserve for just the bottom dregs of the league, which the Brewers are not.

  10. That is exactly what I meant in my previous post about the aesthetic value of baseball not being up to par in the current iteration of the game. Last night's game was an absolute abomination to watch.
  11. Everybody's pen sucks this year. The Cubs pen sucks. The Nationals pen is an absolute abomination. The Braves pen has 1-2 good pitchers. Even the Dodgers pen has been pretty average. We can blame Chris Hook, or everyone sucking, or whatever, but the juiced ball and MLB's desire to have more dingers..... just look around the league. Everyone is saying the same thing "Our pen sucks". Not saying it doesn't suck to have to hang on by a thread every night and chew your nails off hoping some terrible reliever can somehow get outs, but the entire league is dealing with it.
  12. That's what I was wondering. They played him to hit it right there, and that's what he did. He dropped it in the one spot they weren't. Wow.
  13. The Rangers walk them all the way around and Moose proceeds to chase three straight pitches. Oof.
  14. I feel like the Braun to 3B thing at this point is just a fun troll/joke thing. Erceg is hitting .220 at San Antonio, with a .307 OBP. He's repeating AAA unless/until he gets Grisham level hot for an extended period of time.
  15. He's really struggling with control the last two years. I don't think it's the HR and juiced ball that's giving him trouble this year. His BB/9 is atrocious again, and over the last 4 appearances where his ERA started to balloon he's given up 5 hits and 4 walks in 2 2/3 innings. I guess I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on the guy, but whatever he used to be, he just isn't it anymore.
  16. Wahl, Williams, and Black have pitched a *combined* 40 major league innings. There's no way, absolutely no way a bullpen that's spearheaded by those 3 guys and a guy who's not yet back from TJ surgery should be described as "Should be one of the best in baseball."
  17. I have to say ... between what Williams has done this season, and Grisham's success, it's really nice to see a few of these former high round picks paying off. Perhaps things just clicked for Williams this year. So far so good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the last few months for both of these guys are trends and not just hot streaks. I don't have a problem with the Brewers trying something different at this point, but I also get that the Brewers promotional philosophy is pretty much slow and steady.
  18. Keep in mind, Williams missed all of 2017, and was pretty bad in 2018, and has always struggled with control. Even though he's got good looking stuff this is a guy who has yet to throw 400 innings in his minor league career.
  19. It took Junior 41 pitches to get through 2 innings but he did it, and didn't give up any runs. I guess that's not the best case scenario, as he won't be available for a few days...... Hey wait, that IS the best case scenario.
  20. I'm mildly pleased that Braun has put up an .800 OPS and hit for power still this year. If he can do that next year and play in 100 to 120 games, I'll be happy with that. That's not what he's getting paid to do, but if he continues to hit .270 with power and not be a complete butcher in the field and play 4-5 days a week, then he has use, and I'm happy to have him.
