  1. At this point, Peralta might still be the odd man out. It's very clear with the way Nelson's rehab is going, that they absolutely intend to use him as a starter. Of the guys currently in the rotation, Peralta would be the one that seems to be not necessarily deserving of being demoted but the guy who is struggling somewhat, and could also easily slide into a bullpen role and immediately provide value in that role.
  2. Coach Cooper would have had steam coming out of his ears if they didn't cash in at least one of those runners.
  3. well, they're definitely stretching him out to start, so that muddles the picture up. We'll see how things shake out. Like you said, good situation to be in. I'd be happy if Jimmy comes back and is just effective. Not counting on "ace" Jimmy, just effective Jimmy would be nice.
  4. I'm sure fake injuries happen all the time. Holland is just upset he's being taken out of the rotation. Guys get taken out of rotations pretty often. Not sure how often they get asked (or told) to fake an injury to make it happen.
  5. Breathing in colder air inhibits athletic performance, for one thing. Mental handicap? How? You're literally just making stuff up now. Seriously.
  6. If Hiura is ready, and you think he can win games, then bring him up. If you think he's ready to help the team win games, then bring him up. Don't bring him up for one series and send him back down. If he comes up for one series and goes 1 for 12 or he goes 5 for 12 with a homer, leave him up here, if that's the decision that is made. Don't send him back down after 3 games, because that sample isn't enough to have learned anything. If you think he can help you win games, if you bring him up, bring him up to stay, unless he looks clearly and obviously overmatched.
  7. This is why you don't put guys on the IL with fake injuries when they aren't performing the way you want them to perform. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/26727778/holland-rips-giants-brass-says-faked-injury
  8. There's not a lot of data (9 games), and Giannis's numbers are skewed (obviously) by how much defensive pressure he's getting. But this is interesting none the less... https://www.instagram.com/p/BxHnETOh5Gj/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=embed_video_watch_again
  9. Hiura could come up and hit to a .550 OPS just like Shaw or Aguilar. There shouldn't just be an automatic assumption that he's going to come up and immediately rake off of major league pitching. Lewis Brinson has been up for a year and a half and hasn't cracked a .200 batting average yet. There's very very few guys who are "can't miss", and I'm not sure Hiura is in that category. I'm pretty sure he can't do worse than Shaw at this point, but there seems to be a lot of assumption that he's going to just jump in and start winning games. If he's brought up, I hope he plays every day and hits like 2007 Ryan Braun, I just don't know that that's the expectation we should have.
  10. I don't mind a throw to 1st base. Pitchers have to be able to hold runners. If they can't check or hold runners, runners would steal bases with impunity.
  11. Yep. Kind of annoying. Not hitting well and not even trying to make a play on that ball... Running full steam on wet grass toward a brick wall? ...or maybe he just thought it was either gone or would be played off the wall. I think it was the standing there with his hands on his hips that gives the appearance of the "giving up on the ball". I definitely don't want cain running into a brick wall (seriously, why is that still a thing in 2019???), but at least give the ball an honest play.
  12. I'm supposed to be staining cabinet doors this afternoon, and unfortunately I can't because this game is still going. Rooting my team on, win or lose.
  13. I thought you gave up when Albers came in? I distinctly remember your "Game over" post and you said you were turning it off. Yep. The game is available through other means. You probably still read box scores in the newspapers. Amazingly, the game is not over despite the Albers appearance, and no, I don't read newspapers.

  15. Chatwood giving Braun the stink-eye after almost hitting him in the coconut.
  16. I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch... but I want the Bucks to be the champs by beating the best team. I want them to beat the Warriors. I want them to beat the Warriors with Durant. I want a 7 game, best-of-all-time series. I want every game to be like 130-127. Don't get me wrong, if the Blazers or Nuggs come out of the west and the Bucks get past the 6'ers or Raps, and the Bucks beat the Blazers and are NBA champs, Ill whoop and scream and yell and be ecstatic, and buy "NBA champs" hats and flip cars and start things on fire (maybe not those last two things), but to me..... it just feels like beating the Warriors isn't quite "David vs. Goliath", but would have more meaningful, lasting SOMETHING to it if they could take that route. I don't know, maybe it doesn't matter, but that would be what I'm rooting for.
  17. Moose waited back on that grounder for just a split second, and I'm thinking "you don't have time to let that roll all the way to you buddy"
  18. Eh. Baez apologized as he stood up, and Moose appeared to have no problem with the play. Not sure what else needs to be said there.
