  1. Wow. Jabari and Giannis scored 32 points on 42 shots.
  2. What does Tony Snell actually DO??? He's played 16 minutes tonight, has zero points, zero assists, one rebound, zero steals, zero blocks, and one foul. I mean, the guy does NOTHING on the floor. He scores like 8 points per 36 minutes, doesn't rebound, doesn't distribute the ball, plays awful defense...... WHY is he getting minutes? Also, the Bucks are about to lose to another team that is actively tanking.
  3. If the question is actually what former or current Brewer players have a legitimate shot of ever getting into the Hall of Fame? That list is probably Ted Simmons CC Sabathia and Zack Greinke. I think we're fooling ourselves if we think Ryan Braun ever has a chance of cracking bat list. Until the baseball writers fundamentally change the way they think about the hall Ryan Braun is not getting in. Also there is no veterans committee or anything else that's going to put him in because he wasn't good enough for long enough. It's certainly fun to debate a guy like Yelich, but he definitely has to jump up and have a couple of dominant seasons and crack that top 5 MVP voting at least a few times, or get into some of the rarefied air of 3000 hits or something like that. And just the fact that khris Davis was mentioned in a thread talking about the Hall of Fame makes my brain hurt.
  4. I like that Dozier has doubled down on this instead of shutting up or admitting hes a big baby. Hopefully the orioles employ another unwritten rule the next time they play snd put one right in his ribs.
  5. The braun homerun ueck initially thought he swung and missed. Then he thought it was a foul tip. Braun had turned around and looked at/near the catcher, so that could have played a role in ueck's confusion thinking it was a foul tip or swing and miss.
  6. Listening Saturday night, when Villar ripped the single down the left field line, they mentioned how he didn't run immediately, and had looked toward right field. Levering said "it looked like he wasn't sure where the ball was, like he didn't know it was a fair ball". Bob chuckled a bit and said "watch it there, you're leading me into dangerous territory here!" (paraphrasing). Got a laugh out of that. Like many others, I grew up with Ueck. It'll suck when he's no longer calling games. I'm not at all saying he shouldnt be behind the mic.... just that there's a noticeable drop off in his game calling. I'd love it if he was color man for all or most of the game, instead of trying to carry the action. That's just me. I don't want the guy off the radio, but I don't think it's unfair to say that he's not the most attentive game caller.
  7. Somehow, beyond all reason or comprehension, the Bucks blew a 16 point lead with 5 minutes to play tonight and are headed to OT against the Nuggets.
  8. Arm injury or not, Ozuna didn't exactly look pleased that Pham ran a 3K to cut in front of him to make that catch and then throw the ball 25 feet up the third base line.
  9. I'd argue that player safety is always part of an official's job.
  10. I've seen about 2 guys ever get busted for steroids or "performance enhancers" and just say "yeah, I did it. Sorry, my bad"
  11. Also, I'm all aboard on new managers bringing some new lines of thinking into the game, but Kapler is taking this thing to crazy town. Going through the lineup only 2 times with starters is something that's been discussed quite a bit here. I'd be interested to see something like that done, to see if it could be done, but Kapler has to be able to make the easy moves. Also, it's easy to criticize pulling Nola after 68 pitches, but man.... you HAVE to believe your bullpen can hold a 5 run lead with less than 4 innings to go.
  12. I would hope there's some sort of punishment for the umps. I understand their reasoning and I can't really fault them for doing it but they chose not enforce a rule and you can't just pick and chose what rules you want to enforce. I don't think you can punish the Phillies for anything. It's not their fault the umps chose to let them circumvent a rule. IMO, that's 100% on the Phillies. The ump did the right thing to protect a pitcher from going into the game cold (and Layne said as much to the pool reporters after the game), and also said he would be submitting a report to MLB regarding the Phillies lack of readiness to have a pitcher ready.
  13. Has to be Trout and Votto Yup got them both Votto looks like a good bet to retire in the club, .313/.428/.540 Miggy was a good guess but he has a .395 career OBP right now I was flip flopping on Miggy and Votta and Trout, but Miggy had a terrible year last year. I figured that might have dropped him below a .400 OBP. I knew for sure Votto was in. He's been a machine.
  14. Man... his last 3 seasons he was still somewhat productive, but he gave up on taking walks. 1640 pa's, and 71 walks.
  15. Without looking it up, I'm going to guess that Vlad didn't walk NEARLY enough to even sniff a .400 OBP. Ok, he had a career .379 OBP, high water mark of 84 walks in one season. That actually surprised me.
  16. Without looking it up, I'm going to guess that Vlad didn't walk NEARLY enough to even sniff a .400 OBP.
  17. Frank Thomas Edgar Martinez ManRam Bagwell? Not sure on the fifth
  18. Who could have imagine not having a .290 OBP guy hitting leadoff would boost the offense like this??
  19. Apparently neither was stearns.
  20. Maybe that's the point of the joke. Nobody would expect an April Fool's Joke on the day before. But then its not an april fools joke!
  21. He does do it on a near daily basis, which is why it's so painful. Nobody is saying to get rid of him, and it's not as bad as when Harry Caray wasn't even cognizant of the fact he was at a baseball game, or referring to Ryne Sandberg as Ron Santo, but he's definitely missing a lot of the action, and leaving radio listeners in the dark a fair amount of the time. I mean Ueck is an old dude. It happens. It sucks. Nobody is saying put him out to pasture, but it would probably suit him better to be a color guy at this stage. He'd still get to wax nostalgic, tell all his old stories, drop baseball anecdotes into the flow of the game broadcast and etc, etc, etc, but someone else who's more into the actual current game that's taking place today can give us the minute to minute pitch-by-pitch rundown.
  22. I really wish ueck would move to more of a color guy role.i dont want him to retire but he's really gotten bad at calling in-game action.
  23. I didn't hear the radio call, but if Uecker truly thought that was either a swing and a miss or a foul tip.......yikes.
