  1. You won't hear announcers talk about it or beat writers mention it in their columns, but I think your observation is closer to the truth than any. It's all there for them on the road, nightlife, wine and of course, women. That alone wouldn't explain why the Brewers are the best home team in baseball, and one of the worst road teams.
  2. It's clear to me that there are people arguing 2 separate things here. Performance, and Results. In a nutshell, most of the advanced metrics seem to indicate that Greinke has 'performed' better than Wolf, but obviously, his results have been clearly worse. There, argument solved.
  3. We've had a lot of questions like "if you had to keep one of Greinke/Marcum, who would it be?" I don't think there's anyone that would argue that Marcum's got better physical tools or 'stuff', but in watching him this year, and watching Greinke, it just seems that Marcum is a much more cerebral pitcher.........he just 'knows how to pitch'. Marcum just doesn't seem to get rattled by situations.
  4. Why would you get doubled off with nobody out? So you only get to third if it makes it over his head. There's nobody out. Stupid.
  5. Hardy's OPS is .907.Hardy doesn´t have enough ABs to qualify for the batting title, etc. Which is why I didn´t include him. Not to mention the fact that Reyes is far more likely to continue to put up an .875-ish OPS than Hardy is a 900 ops.
  6. Right or wrong, if 2 guys have similar stats and one is playing on a division winner, and the other guy is on a 4th place team, the MVP voting between them probably won't be close. Baseball writers are a different breed. And trading Prince? Won't happen. Unless the Brewers go on a 20 game skid and just completely fall out of it, there's absolutely no way it happens.
  7. Morgan didn't look like he had a good read on that one at first either. And it almost dropped behind his head.
  8. He has an OPS over 2.000 for this series, DFA Morgan and start Gomez I don't like Gomez, and I sure don't like his bat, but I can definitely appreciate what he does with the glove. Morgan's a good CF, Gomez is fantastic.
  9. Carroll's 28, and frankly, his Major league numbers have sucked. If they're going to bring up a guy like Carroll, they might as well just bring Boggs back. We know that he'll at least provide some power, if nothing else.
  10. Ortiz seems more likeable/approachable. Also, Ortiz doesn't condemn others for the way they play. Big difference between the 2.
  11. To me, this looks like something that would make a good documentary style show, on like ESPN or MLB network, but i honestly don't see a lot of people paying money to go see this on the big screen.
  12. I said that as well, and then he hit a HR in his first at bat.
  13. He's not exactly what one would call a slick fielder.
  14. When I had TJ surgery on my right elbow, I found immediately that there were such simple things that I wished I had learned how to do left handed. Even eating a bowl of cereal at first was an adventure. When the rehab didn't go well and I had a setback, it was about 18 months before I regained any real use out of my right arm/hand, and by that time I could at least write legibly with my left hand, if not neatly.
  15. That's what I was thinking. Lean into it, be a man, and get on base.
  16. Gomez has a more or less terrible approach at the plate, and a guy like Wakefield is the type of pitcher that it seems could really push his buttons. I'd almost rather see Kotsay out there today.
  17. Alright, alright! Like I said, get a few back, and start chipping away!
  18. This might be perception more than anything, but Betencourt sure seems to hit a high percentage of weak infield/shallow OF pop ups.
  19. Casey hit that about as far as you can hit one of those 37 mph knucklers. Be nice to just get a few runs back here and chip away a little bit.
  20. Someone needs to tell Prince that a solo homer doesn't get them back in the game quite yet.
  21. Ugh....... Well for one, Yo is certainly not getting the same strikezone that Wakefield got in his half, but that doesn't account for his terrible location so far. He's got to know that with Marcum only going an inning Friday night that he might be stuck eating a few innings here no matter what. EDIT: and I see Mitre up in the pen. Always a good sign in the first inning.
  22. I wouldn't say that yet. Brewers have come back a handful of times this year when down 3-4. It's not like Wakefield's a shut down ace type. It sure ain't looking good though, I'll give ya that.
