    Before the season, I started a poll here on Brewerfan. WHAT WILL SHEETS DO?!? 1.) Will he continue to be the mid 4 ERA guy he has been up til now, a solid # 3-4 type pitcher? 2.) Will he regress and pitch worse than he ever has? 3.) Will he step up and become the ace we've all hoped he could be? Is the question answered now?

    Yeah, it's not like our pen isn't rested, and can't be counted on to hold a 4 run lead. Ben's done his work for tonight, I'd say. Give it to Viz and Kolb.

    Heck, it's nice to know that Lyle gave McKeon some tough choices. Personally, I'm glad Ben is going to see an inning in the game. Blah blah blah, injury risk, blah blah blah, rotation setup after the break, blah blah blah. It's a big honor for the guy, and he should enjoy it, and get a chance to play an inning.

    I'm getting pretty sick of seeing Sosa, Griffey, and all the usual suspects dog it out of the box when they *think* they got one. I mean, I don't care when they play us, but it's just sickening to watch as a BASEBALL fan.

    Why do people insist on continuing to bring up 2001? This isn't 2001. It's now. We're getting swept. It happens to everyone. Yes, we're getting swept by the Pirates again. Yes, that's what hpapened before the great Tailspin of 2001. They are, however, 2 completely different teams. I'm not telling people to not be negative about the team. I'm saying that at least use arguments relative to THIS team to say why you feel they can't cut it. Don't tell me that because they went in the crapper in 2001, they'll do it again this year, because that's nothing but a bunch of hooey.

    holy crap, we lost a double header immediately after a 5 game winning streak and the rats are diving off the sinking ship faster than you can blink an eye. I was one of the most critical fans in the early going, and have even been labelled a pessimist by many, concerning our Brewers. I thought this was a 70 win team at best coming into the season, and still think they're going to fight to get to 75-80. HOWEVER, I just can't understand all the doom and gloom here! (Did I just say that?) They're still 5 games over. They're still in 3rd place. So they got their asses whooped. It happens, and it's gonna happen a fair number of times over 162. To everybody. We know the Pirates are tough on the Crew. Let's hope this is an abberation, and let's not assume that this is 2001 all over again and that it's the preface to a tailspin into oblivion.

    I was glad when I finally made it to "regular". Let me tell ya, being "not" regular is no fun! Seriously though! This is one of the sites that I don't see TOO many people make a big deal about post counts. I like that.

    To add to ja002h's comment, the Brewers longest losing streak this year is 3, that's right, THREE games. The ability to avoid the long losing skeins has (obviously) been huge.

    When the Crew is playing well, I don't mind the "we hustled, played hard, etc. etc. etc" lines. It's after games like this that those lines ring of so much bullcrap. Call me two-faced, but I don't care how much you hustle when you get blanked by a crappy pitching staff to the tune of 8 runs in a 3 game series. We can't buy a hit with men in RISP, and our manager compounds it with decisions like the one he made today. Say all you want about RISP being random and say what you want about small samples. This team is NOT getting it done with RISP. How many times can you get men on 1st and 2nd with none out and not score a single run? My guess is we're going to find out first-hand if things don't change.

    Clancy, HONESTLY do you think they were throwing at guys in a tie game with the bases loaded? That's just plain silly, and retaliation would be CHILDISH to say the very least.
