  1. Big inning. What is it about the 7th lately? Let's get Dougy a win.
  2. Bases loaded for jenks GIT-R-DONE!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. As per usual, we're making a pitcher with a 6+ E.R.A. look like an ace.
  4. Is Matt Kinney numb? Kolb just hit him with about half a dozen seeds, and Kinney reacted not-at-all. I wish I had that kind of job.
  5. OK, Serious part of post: In all honesty, I'd hope that a group of intelligent, reasonable people would KNOW that talking or typing or writing about an event happening is not going to stop it from happening, based on superstitious beliefs. Fun part of post: I too enjoy the superstitions of baseball, and agree that they liven up the game and add some fun. I hope I've been very clear about the intent of this post, and that it won't be misconstrued as an attempt to suck the fun out of the game.
  6. I know it was in fun. It was just a general comment about the level of "superstitiousness-ess" that's been running rampant lately. That's all.
  7. "I find your lack of faith disturbing Best Star Wars Line Ever
  8. I'm PRETTY sure that WASN'T because of the comment made on an internet message board that the Rockies scored. PROBABLY.......
  9. Is it just me, or have people gone completely-over-the-top superstitious lately?
  10. JUST a bit outside........ wow, what a terrible call.
  11. I think it's time to begin the Ben Grieve countdown. This is ********, to say the least.
  12. If we still had Wayne Franklin, we'd be sweeping these series.
  13. Driving home tonight from Wynona, MN, I listened to the whole game on the highway. I almost aced the entire family TWICE, once when Pods went yard, and again when Jenks left the park. Too excitable I guess. Kept me awake though!
  14. Thank you Bill! Problem solved.
  15. I've noticed the last few days there's certain words in the forums ("jobs", "insurance", "movies" to name a few) that are underlined in green, and if I click on them, it does a google search with that word as the keyword. Is this just me that's getting this, or is it a new thing for the site? I'm not complaining, I'm more or less just trying to find out if something got changed on my computer, settings-wise. I'm also getting a butt-load of pop-ups when I sign on as well.
  16. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The worst thing that Pods can do is hit a couple homeruns. It's nice that he's got some pop. But it's apparently getting into his head whenever he DOES hit a homer that he should be doing it more often, and it REALLY shows in his approach at the plate lately. Give Brady a series out in center, and let Pods get his head out his beeehind and figure out what he was doing right last year. It's not like Brady will be any worse than what Pods did in this series. Just don't let him steal is all.
  17. Did someone sneak a hose into Clancy's house and turn on the Nitrous Oxide?
  18. I think it's funny how baseball more than any other thing in America can turn a group of intelligent, sane, thoughtful people into superstitious ninnies in a hearbeat. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif I hope no one takes offense!
  19. This is cool. The entire Brewers nation is getting jacked up because we're 4 games over .500 on June 16th. Doug Davis is ok. Bill Hall can hit.
  20. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I can't see criticizing the kid for taking advantage of an opportunity like he had last night. The chance that he ever actually makes it to the bigs and sticks is somewhat low, and I'm sure he's aware of that. In the real world where people have, ya know, feelings and emotions, something like a lowly HS championship game can mean an awful lot.
  21. Ok, 69! He still get's a senility break as far as I'm concerned!
  22. That's why I like Jim and Bob. Jim is almost ALWAYS on the ball, and Bob, when he makes mistakes, usually catches them and corrects himself. And the guy is over 70, so he's gonna get some leeway from me!
  23. Well, that's an opinion, and I respect it. PERSONALLY, I've reached the point I can't even stomach them anymore, especially when Darron says 3 things a night that are statistically, factually untrue.
  24. Today I made the conscious decision to NOT watch on tv, and put Darron and Bill behind me. We threw some ribs on the grill, took a radio out onto the deck, had some beers, and REALLY had a nice time listening to Bob and Jim, and not listening to Darron and Bill prattle on and on and on about everything BUT the game, and see stupid segments with that tool Brainless Bob asking fans about things that have nothing to do with baseball. Great win by the Crew, and despite my massive pessimistic side, I'm starting to believe there's more to this bunch than I gave them credit for at the beginning of the year.
  25. I always get mixed feelings when Scott hits a homer. Now he's gonna try and pull everything for the next week again. Oh well, I'll take this one!
