  1. Can someone on the producer mic tell Tony Romo to clear his throat please?
  2. I hope the Packers win, and ROdgers goes 9 of 45 for 12 yards with 4 INT's.
  3. Hopefully we never see Pablo Reyes again Pablo had some big moments last year, why the hate for him? I don't get it either. I don't want Reyes starting, or even getting significant playing time, but the fact that he's versatile, a good defender, and doesn't absolutely suck with the bat makes him a decent guy to have hanging around on the 40 man. People seem to think it's easy to just stash a bunch of .800 OPS dudes on the bottom of the roster, and it just doesn't work that way. Guys like Reyes are what you have when you get a bunch of injuries or just "need a guy", and he wasn't *that* bad, as long as you don't plan on him playing every day. Brosseau intrigues me. I'm not expecting him to change our fortunes but we got him for basically nothing. Here's hoping.
  4. not a good way to work up the depth chart
  5. Much less, it's Northwestern, we have pretty much split with them the last couple of decades I think. Pour it on. agreed. I was a wee bit nervous about this game coming in. run it up to 56-0 for all I care. I'm here for it.
  6. that is a boy amongst men.
  7. college and NFL rules are different on that
  8. there are 10 teams in the AFC with either 5 or 6 wins. the colts with 4 wins are still on the periphery of contention. the titans, even without derrick henry have to feel pretty good about where they're at. the Bengals were the #1 seed 2 weeks ago. I think as it stands right now, they're out.
  9. Maybe those stats knew a little more than it seemed? It's amazing how a few absolutely terrible plays in the 3 losses sabotaged the overall perception of the quality of the team as a whole. Turnovers are an incredibly erratic stat. Can kind of honestly say they "should have" won the Penn State game. They were (incredibly) beating Notre Dame in the fourth quarter before Notre Dame ripped off 31! straight points, largely due to turnovers and special teams miscues. They were somehow in the Michigan game (down only 3) halway through the third quarter, when the same thing happened. Turnovers, miscues, and ST mishaps sent the train careening out of control and off the tracks. Not saying they could have or should have won either of those games, but the final scores were uglier than the game itself. It is what it is. Three losses are three losses no matter how you slice it. Doesn't matter if you lose by 3 or 30, but they were in those games.
  10. alternatively, the Brewers could go year to year with Pina, because as a backup catcher in his mid-30's, he's not going to get prohibitively expensive. It's not like giving a long term deal to a mid 30's 700 OPS backup catcher is cornering some market inefficiency that no one else has thought of. It's not done because there's zero financial sense to do so.
  11. They're doing it again against the Knicks. Up 24 with 4 minutes left in the third, and the Knicks are within 1 with 3 minutes left in the game. Really struggling to close out games without Midds and Lopez.
  12. That seems really light. We should consider ourselves fortunate. Fire up the printer. The Packers need to sell 1,200 shares of stock to cover their fine. No, it seems exactly right. The NFL doesn't really care...glad the punishment reflected that. I'm sure they care in as much as it hurts the public perception and viewership and product sales. I'm sure they'd just as soon rather have not had this incident go down the way it did. there's always the perception that stars like Rodgers and Brady get preferential treatment and things like this don't help.
  13. We touched on this regarding other players in the past- I think that when you strongly take an opinion against a player based on your initial thoughts or his draft position or his impact on other players on the team, it's seemingly tough to move people off that position, even if it's to the detriment of the team your root for. I think you see it in all sports, but it does feel like Packer fans are especially entrenched in their opinions, both good and bad. Honestly, there was a similar situation with Rodgers initially due to Favre. It look a long time for those initial feelings to get lost along the way. I think that's silly. Example....... I hated the AJ Dillon pick, but I like AJ Dillon, the player. I like him, I think he's a good back, fits the system, I just personally didn't like using the pick there, at that time, in that round. It's whatever. I certainly ain't gonna root for the guy to fail so I can be "right".... that's just dumb. I thought the Jordan Love pick was stunningly stupid. But if he's the QB, whenever, I hope he succeeds.
  14. Basically where I’m at. Started poorly and looked full of nerves. Got better as the game went on, which is encouraging. If he does have to start next week, it matters if that in-game development continues into the Seattle game. If it does, it’s the mark of a still learning QB with potential. If not, it’s ultra concerning with a full week or prep. That’s the difference between a possible future starter and Brett Hundley, who never took steps forward. Just don't even ever say that name here again please.
  15. Maybe your expectations for backup QBs is too high? Heck, look across the field and Mahomes is an int away from having a worse stat line. What’s his excuse? To be fair, my expectation for a 1st round qb who's been preparing for 3 years is at least fairly high.
  16. Calling the Chiefs at the bottom of the NFC West is generous. What else are they? "Tied" for last place? Denver is less than two minutes away from beating the Cowboys, so technically, the Chiefs are in last place. Doesn't matter if it's "technically", that's right where they are halfway through the season. I'm pretty sure that's not where they figured on being at this point, and it's because of their really bad defense. Was there realignment? ya ya afc
  17. Calling the Chiefs defense so-so is being generous. They're pretty bad, and the reason that team is 4-4 and sitting at the bottom of the NFC West. They're bad and beatable. This was an imminently winnable game with Rodgers. I agree the strategy should be pound the ball and take the pressure off of Love. Calling the Chiefs at the bottom of the NFC West is generous. 18. Uuuuuuundoubtedly, which is why the investigation, though hypothetically reasonable and probably going to end up bad for the Packers, is a complete scapegoat situation for the league. They 100% knew about his status, and the league office probably watched him violate the rules week after week without doing anything because of who he is. Which is terrible. Really, almost as terrible as 'reporters' like Rapoport who CLEARLY knew Rodgers' situation staying completely silent on it until the situation hit the fan.... But, to your point, plenty of blame to go around. But it's the team that probably suffers, rightly or wrongly. I'm going to stretch this a bit here, but it could just be that the league was/is aware and is/has been in communication with the Packers regarding the situation and was waiting for them to either do something about it (given that it's in the agreement that it's each team's responsibility to enforce) or until there was an egregious breach of the agreement (eg: the Halloween party). I do wonder after that came out if the league wasn't going to step in anyways. We won't know now, but it's just something to wonder about.
  19. They could not put him directly in front of the press, which is what they've done for all other unvaccinated players. What if Rodgers doesn't comply and goes on his own as it seems was his preference? Are they going to physically restrain him? Despite appearances, Aaron Rodgers doesn't run the Packers.
  20. The NFL said in a statement Wednesday: "The primary responsibility for enforcement of the COVID protocols within club facilities rests with each club. Failure to properly enforce the protocols has resulted in discipline being assessed against individual clubs in the past. The league is aware of the current situation in Green Bay and will be reviewing the matter with the Packers." https://www.nfl.com/news/packers-aaron-rodgers-could-face-fines-but-no-suspension-if-covid-violations-are It's the team's responsibility to make sure players are compliant. If not, they don't have to hold him down and force him to wear a mask, but they could fine him (and not disclose that he's been fined) or just say he's not available for press conferences, or have him do the press conference remotely. There's a lot of ways to handle the situation other than just not follow the jointly-agreed rule that the NFL and NFLPA put in place.
  21. It's also dumb that Rodgers knew he wasn't vaccinated, and so did the team president and the GM, and they all decided that the rules agreed upon by the NFLPA didn't apply to Rodgers because he's a huge diva baby.

  23. nice grab by Pryor with a little teensy push off. they don't call that in college much.
  24. they were talking about Cruikshank from Rutgers being hurt and I was only half listening and I was like "no that's wrong he's on WI" took me a few minutes to remember he transferred.
