  1. it's 0-0 and neither team has a hit. Of course you are correct. But you can’t realistically tell me Burnes has looked the equal of Morton so far. I agree that results are all we need to care about here, but of the two, Morton is far and away executing better. Burnes had a shaky 1st.
  2. he sounded pretty adamant that he's not going to pitch multi inning saves. I wouldn't count on it happening.
  3. Since 2008 the Rays have 7 playoff appearances and eight 90 win seasons, with 2 WS appearances. In the Brewers 50 year history we have 7 playoff appearances and nine 90 win seasons.
  4. so... enforce it. 10 seconds... call a strike. I bet guys would stay in the box. step out more than 2 x in an ab, call a strike.
  5. saying that shortening the length of a game from 3:10 to 2:45 is simplifying the argument. watch an inning that suter pitches. it's paced, easy to follow, etc. watch a guy like greinke pitch. shaking off, doing.....whatever it is he does on the mound. Craig Kimbrel with his hawk stance. theres a lot of gamesmanship and stuff with all that. game within the game, disrupting timing, blah blah blah, but it's boring. ignoring the fact that baseball is boring for all but the most hardcore fans is a dangerous path to walk down. you can speed up the game by simply make the guys play, and not with all these dumb and silly rule changes that have accomplished nothing. watching Ryan Braun step out of the box after watching a ball low and outside, and pick up some dirt, take 3 practice swings, unstrap and strap his gloves, flex. take a deep breath, and adjust his jersey after EVERY. PITCH. was boring. it's not just taking 15 minutes off the game, it's telling the batter to stay in the box, pitchers to pitch and let's play some ball. If the game still takes 2 45, so be it.
  6. Shame on the Rays for somehow staying competitive in the same division as the Yankees and red Sox! 7 playoff appearances and 2 trips to the ws in 14 years. obviously payroll isn't hampering them too much. the stadium and the location sucks.... no getting around that. I don't know how anyone in baseball can grouse about how the rays spend their money.
  7. I don't see a problem with a one game playoff. Every series that goes to 7 games is a one game, winner takes all. Baseball is exciting and fun when you have those one game, one inning, one at bat, one pitch moments where everything hangs on the balance. Look back through B-R when there was 8 teams, and no playoffs. How many seasons did the Yankees with the AL with over a 10 game lead? That must have been incredibly boring for almost everyone. What was there to play for, or listen to the radio? Nothing. Making the series a best of three doesn't do much for me. Heck, we just dropped 2 to the Tigers. Tigers aren't better than the Brewers.
  8. he's in AZ to rehab to get ready for the ws. not for punishment.
  9. new England's commitment to refusing to run the ball was very mccarthyesque.
  10. Yes, it's enforced from the change of possession. It's why the officials throw the blue bean-bag on any C.O.P. I didn't go back but I thought I remembered him saying "from the end of the run" which would obviously be wrong . now we know, and knowing is half the battle.
  11. the thing that kinda sucks about this is we could have won 10 in a row to end the season and then lost in the 1st round. if we lose in the divisional Rd, it won't matter how or why, the narrative is going to be "CoUnSeLl ShOuLdNt HaVe ReStEd EvErYoNe!!!!" even after watching multiple key guys get hurt this week, Belt, Kershaw, Muncy..... that's going to be the narrative. CC's a good manager. dude knows what he's doing. widely regarded as one of the best in the game. feel like at this point he and his staff and the decisions they make have to have earned a little trust.
  12. Dang, I was pretty close. Got the spread right.
  13. defense looked ok today. I'm not gonna say they played great, because Big Ben played just ..... pretty bad. They did what they had to do and kept a bad offense from putting up points, and that's ok. Dillon looked really good today. Randall Cobb had a rennaissance day, but I wouldn't look for a whole lot of those. Take em when you can get em. O-line play looked pretty good today. Running the ball looked authoritative.
  14. Anyone else pick up Romo referring to the Packers as "we" and "us" a few times here and there during the broadcast? The WI homer is showing through a little bit....
  15. Cobb out there playing free safety. Yeesh.
  16. Needed to float that out there just a little bit more A-Rodg
  17. Dude signalling first down and they're 3 yards shy of the marker. Lol no guy.
  18. Just really apparent from watching this game, and not just looking at the stats, that Big Ben is just a shadow of his former self. Really take for granted the high level that Rodgers is still playing at at his age.
  19. Why all of a sudden is "intent" important in deciding whether or not something is a penalty? If you trip someone, you tripped them, whether you meant to or not. If you hold someone, it's holding, whether you meant to or not. If you block someone in the back, it's BITB, whether you meant to or not. Why the last two weeks is the discussion centered around intent all of a sudden?
