  1. Curtains could be made using Remetee T-Shirt material.
  2. Peavy's next start is tomorrow for the Padres. It'll be interesting to see if he pitches or not.
  3. I'd think it's safe to say that Aaron Cook will not be traded to the Brewers today.
  4. I once ate at a Denny's in Cleveland for Thanksgiving. I wouldn't recommend it.
  5. He probably has servants. His life is like that of Eddie Murphy in "Coming To America" before he actually came to America.
  6. Turnbow was once an All Star. He sucked shortly after.
  7. My parents were from the U.P. (Iron Mountain area). They seemed to be Tiger fans back in the day. My dad always tells me the story of when his parents took him to a Tigers game in 1968 during the middle of the Detroit riots. My father's parents and grandparents were originally from Minnesota and I can remember my great grandmother being a big Twins fan.
  8. Weather must have been a bit better in MKE. But up here in the Fox Valley, it has been terrible for a while now. Rainy and in the low 50s is not my idea of summertime fun. I can't even count how many T-Rats games I have skipped out on due to crummy/cold weather. I'm tempted to buy up the rest of the Hummers on Mr. Bergstrom's lot and put a brick on the gas pedal on all of them in hopes of speeding up the global warming.
  9. I've got the thermostat set at 58? in my house and my furnace has been kicking on for the last 4 days. This is getting insane. It's enough to deal with 5+ months of winter every year. All I ask out of my home state is to give me three months of summer. It's the middle of June and the temp is still flirting with the 60? mark. I love you Wisconsin but I think I may have to be done with you.
  10. If Bill Hall did not suck, then I think we would see less "I hate Bill Hall" posts. Seriously, he has been a black hole going on over two years now. I don't doubt his desire to succeed and he seems to be an excellent teammate. But he has been hurting this team when he is at the plate. 3B is a typically a position for one of your better hitters. But he is so bad that it'd be tough to hide him at 2B or SS. I used to like Bill Hall, but I really think a lot of fans turned on him like me when he started with the "I wanna be traded." comments after being benched. That's when the serious Booing started.
  11. Is Pedro still out of a job? Maybe Selig can create a Senior League for the MLB.
  12. Looks like those Hypercolor shirts from 1990 with some added airbrushing from the local county fair. I'll never understand what many Californians consider good fashion.
  13. This takes me back to the Aquino game. I'm not completely furious that Macha gave Julio a shot in that inning. What makes me scratch my head is that he had no Plan B ready when Julio tanked. Macha has always seemed to have a fairly quick hook when a reliever obviously doesn't have it. Tonight brought me back to the old time Yostings where the bullpen phone wouldn't ring until the game was out of reach. Lets hope lessons have been learned. Anyone notice Julio's reaction when he walked off the mound after being yanked? Looks like he had some strong words or word for Kendall. Wish I could see a replay of it.
  14. Why did we even call up Gamel if he we're gonna throw Hall out there against righties? I'd rather Gamel get regular ABs in AAA than ride the bench.
  15. Study Russian Brides web sites.
  16. It's only the greatest song known to mankind.
  17. Word on the street is that he's running out to the Ultimate Warrior's theme song. This is the most brilliant idea ever.
  18. The thing is that we can't even get Hall out of the lineup even though we want to. Damn you DH!
  19. We haven't taken any pitches this entire series. Two of the games were against scrub pitchers. I don't know if it's the dome or what, but the team is completely out of it's element at the plate.
  20. Jesus, we ran straight into a buzzsaw this weekend. Gotta get it together for the homestand. Can we put in Julio to plunk the ump?
  21. Even though I think I'd rather have someone else besides Peavy, the Brewers do have an advantage in getting him to revoke the no-trade clause if we can reach a deal with the Padres. And that is having Cameron, Hoffman & Gerut on the team. They've all played with Peavy and it seems that at least Cam and Hoff really enjoy playing here in MKE. Gerut will probably enjoy his time here as well. Cam helped recruit Hoffman here. I think that both of them will do the same with Peavy if the Brewer are seriously thinking about making a move on him.
  22. If the Padres absolutely want to unload Peavy's contract, I'm really thinking they are screwed and will end up having to settle for a weaker package than what the White Sox offered. Based on Peavy's demands (Wants to play for a playoff contender, stay in the NL, stay out west or the midwest) and the fact that I doubt the Padres would trade Peavy within their division, the only teams that would work are the Cubs, Brewers, Cardinals, Reds and maybe the Braves (just because he's an southern boy). Do any of these teams have the pitching that the Padres are after? I know the Braves have a good farm system, but they are no way gonna give up Hanson. Do they have any other pieces to part with? And the bigger question is do they even want Peavy? I don't think the Reds have anything to offer and I seriously doubt they would or can take on that much salary. I know nothing about the Cardinals prospects. But to me the Cardinals could really use him. How interested are they? It's no secret the Cubs want him bad, but they have nothing to offer. The Brewers don't have the pitching prospects, but they do have a good number of positional prospects. Last time I checked, the Padres lineup is terrible except for 1B. They need everything. I think we can put together a fair package for Peavy that wouldn't sell the farm yet would still beat what any other team offers. It seems that Peavy is gonna end up someplace. And it's probably gonna be in our division. Personally, I'd be a bit scared as to how well he'd pitch outside of Petco and shy away. But I really think we will have to make a move if he goes to the Cubs or Cardinals. Looks like Toronto won't be moving Halladay. If I were Melvin, I'd be talking to the D-Backs feeling them out about Dan Haren. He's the guy I really want us to go after. I just don't feel comfortable with the rotation to get us to the promised land. We need another stud. I'm not expecting another Sabathia, but at least another solid #1 or #2. Who might be available? I'm thinking Haren, Webb, Lee, Cook. Anyone else?
