  1. I think some of us need to quit looking for extra stuff to worry about. I'll second this motion.
  2. So only two more games for the record? No problem. Let's go Ryan!!!
  3. Did anyone find the record for multiple home run games in a row? I don't seem to be typing the correct words into Google.
  4. All the Yost bashing threads are now on page two. At least for me they are no longer on the first page.
  5. Wasn't sure where to ask this so... Does anyone know the song they play right at the beginning of games? Not the one when they're introducing the lineups, that's Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People". The one they play just before the first pitch. It sounds like Jack White singing, but it's a little hard to hear from where I've been sitting. I'm pretty sure it's not the White Stripes, as (I believe) I've got all their CDs, but could be from his other band The Raconteurs. Anyone?
  6. I'm done defending our fans after Saturday. They booed Yost/Gagne for IBBing Pujols with runners on 2nd & 3rd with one out. Utter stupidity, I tell ya. I'm with you guys. Besides the Gagne boos, the booing of Bush after giving up ONE RUN, in the first freakin inning was ridiculous. I turned to my friend in about the 5th inning or so, while Bush was cruising, and said..."Bush sure shut them up. You don't hear any of those (expletive deleted)'s booing now do you." Besides the booing, there seems to be a lot more drunks stumbling around these days. I don't know maybe it's just where I sit, maybe I need to get better seats. Between the booing, the negativity of some "fans", and all the drunk idiots, it's getting almost "unfun" for me. But, I guess that's what you have to deal with when your team is good.
  7. How about some credit to Yost for a nicely managed game. 8 runs scored, he must have put the players in a position to succeed, right? Actually a nicely managed series. They took 3 of 4 from the Cards, had to have done something right in there somewhere. And he didn't let LaRussa get to him. LaRussa was actually the one to melt down this time. Well OK...it wasn't really a melt down, he was just trying to protect his player, but still, he did get run. Blame the manager when the players fail, how about a little credit back to the manager when the players do their job well.
  8. All right, so a few guys have made that jump from AA or less. It still has to be less than 1%. I can't see the Brewers doing that with these two kids. As many have said, they need to be in the minors right now, playing every day, and working on their defense.
  9. They will not promote Gamel or LaPorta straight from AA ball. Please move on people.
  10. Apparently it was Kendall who missed the sign. I have also heard some put blame on Sveum because he's supposed to wait for the hitter to acknowledge that he knows the squeeze is on. But at the same time, I've heard some say the hitter doesn't send a sign back to the third base coach, because then the defense knows something is up. IMO, any way you look at, Kendall missed the sign there. If some want to give partial blame to Sveum, fine.
  11. Thank you "olliegjw". Also, this being the "sample size" website that it is, take a look at his career numbers and tell me he's not a higher than average GIDP risk.
  12. No, I agree, it doesn't make much sense. If it's because they're concerned it would distract the pitcher, well I think that's pretty crazy. A pitcher should be concentrating on the catcher's mitt. If he let's himself be distracted by whatever bat the hitter is waving around, then he's already lost the "battle" and shouldn't be out there.
  13. "The Cardinals at least temporarily removed embattled Jason Isringhausen from the closer's role Saturday morning, barely 12 hours after the righthander suggested the move to preserve the bullpen's integrity as well as his own mental well-being." Link to Article from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch
  14. "LaRussa removed his closer" Actually Isringhausen went to LaRussa and asked to be removed from the closer role for now. So it isn't completely different at all, it is a very simular situation to Gagne/Yost.
  15. I hear a lot about why only play for one run in that squeeze play attempt yesterday. Go for a "big inning" or something like that. The way this offense is going right now, do you really have any confidence in them to score more than one run in that situation? How many times have they not scored and left the bases loaded in the past week? Seems like a lot. Two is too many. Heck it took the Cards walking in runs for them to even score earlier in the game.
  16. I seriously doubt the booing effects a veteran pitcher like Gagne. What do you do with him? Remove him from the closer role for now, and somehow he has to get that confidence back in himself. I believe it's up to Gagne to get his head straight, the coaching staff can't do that for him.
  17. I didn't mind the squeeze attempt. Kendall handles the bat well and has grounded into many double plays in his career.
  18. I was born and raised in Wisconsin and graduated from UWM. First come the Panthers with me. Once a Panther always a Panther. I will always be a Brewer fan, if they go 62-100, or 100-62. I will always be a Packer fan, if they go 0-16 or 16-0. The NBA I couldn't care less about, so sorry Bucks, just don't like your style of play. Give me college hoops any day of the week. And I'm already teaching my 2-year old daughter to like the Brewers, Packers, and Panthers.
  19. "I'm not completely sure of the rules on this, but is there any way to bring him up for a few interleague series and NOT start his arby clock?" I'm no expert on the subject either, but I would have to guess the Player's Association wouldn't let that happen.
  20. I really hope last night was a turning point for Rickie. This team needs him to be at least close to the Rickie we all saw last September.
  21. I believe they all do don't they? Well at least the younger outfielders probably do. Someone like Cameron probably doesn't need one anymore. I've seen Corey check his cheat sheet as well.
  22. This has seemed like a no-brainer to me for over a year now. Its just another example of Ned being stubborn and wanting his ideas to work, even if they never will. I do like Corey in the 5 spot thou over any other option. (Unless you put Corey leadoff, then move everyone else down one spot.) Too bad they don't have two Corey Hart's. One to bat leadoff and one to bat 5th.
  23. Ask me again at the end of the month.
  24. Man, this is just so painful to watch right now. When is the offense going to take their heads out of their behinds? Who cares what the pitching is doing, if you can't score more than two runs a game, you're not going to win too many games anyway. Right now I'm addicted to the MGMT song "Time to Pretend". Anyone know it? There is a line..."We were fated to pretend". I really hope that line doesn't end up describing this Brewer team.
