  1. Bummed I missed this. When I got home last night, I checked Yahoo's game channel to see what was going on around MLB and they showed SD with 4 hits after 6 innings. I only noticed this because I always check the shutouts to see if a no-no is in progress. Thanks Yahoo for being out of sorts last night (they also had the Brewers still playing well over an hour after the game had ended). I'm going to start checking MLB.com instead at night. Congrats to Sanchez.
  2. According to the MSCR's program guide, you can buy tickets to Noah's Ark at their office on Regent St. at a discounted rate of $28, which saves you $9. http://www.mscr.org/my_files/CurrentProgramGuide.pdf It's on page 9 or 10.
  3. I know who he is, but may be off on specifics. If I recall: He goes to all the games, carries a duffel bag, wears a jersey with "Maniac" on the back and generally goes alone. We tried talking to him once and got a blank stare. He seems a bit out there. Along the same lines of hawing's interest in The Maniac, my friends and I are always wondering what happened to our favorite County Stadium beer vendors. We had nicknames for 5 or 6 of them and have really never seen them in Miller Park. That all changed a few weeks ago when I saw one of them...it was exciting.
  4. I still get a kick out of it to this day when I see the Weinermobile cruising around town.
  5. Must have done it right after last night's bad outing. From an Oakland website: Eveland was placed on optional waivers after the game, as the A's intend to return him to Sacramento. Because Eveland debuted in the majors more than three years ago, he has to be placed on optional waivers - where teams can claim him over a 48-hour period but are unlikely to do so - before being returned to the minors. He's still on the 40-man roster.
  6. I can't go golfing tomorrow because I'm missing a contact lense. I rarely wear them and found out yesterday that one is gone *poof*. I can't get replacements because I haven't had an eye exam in over a year (so said the eye guy I talked to yesterday), so now I can't golf. That bugs me. On a positive note, now I can get those disposable ones and not worry about this happening again.
  7. Latest report I just read says Nashville police are ruling out murder/suicide and are indicating both parties may have been dead longer than just this afternoon. "Aaron (police spokesperson) ruled out the possibility of a murder-suicide. He also said that the time of the deaths is uncertain and that they may not have occurred Saturday." Interesting as McNair's wife said she hadn't heard from him in a few days.
  8. Have can coolers/bottle coozies ever been mentioned? I don't like using them with my beer (that whole exchanging them every 5 minutes gets annoying), but it sure seems like a lot of people do.
  9. I read today that Dylan had been at the Barrymore in Madison rehearsing for the last 3 days before the Summerfest show. http://77square.com/music/features/story_456940
  10. I can't make this stuff up. They were plenty loud, so I know I heard it right. That is what they decided. I think one of them may have figured it out later (or was corrected by a seat neighbor).
  11. I'll be there, but I'm going to see Judas Priest at the Harley stage.
  12. the Tribe is in a position to let him work out the kinks at the major league level this year Not a good debut tonight as Perez gave up 4 ER in 2/3 IP.
  13. Considering Gomez and Sandoval have really done well against us, I'm thinking the Pfister ghosts may not like the Brewers.
  14. Heck of a pick up for STL. I hate DeRosa so much that I like him. Oh well, at least he's not back as a Cub.
  15. I see where they're coming from and they tried to save people some time, but calling them off so early is proving to be a mistake. They really couldn't win on this one.
  16. I can't speak for the Warner Park area, but over on the west side, we've had nothing but drizzle for 5 minutes and it appears on radar that the first wave has already passed.
  17. I'm not a tuber, but I believe the Sugar River (Albany, not far from Madison) is a popular tubing spot. http://www.badger-trail.com/SB-tubing.htm
  18. Hey all, my daughter is pushing 8 and using the computer a lot these days. I am looking for a good download/program (preferably free) that I can put on the computer just to keep things off the screen that she doesn't need to see. I've already set her google search to strict filtering as that is where she looks for most of her stuff. I looked on my Windows site and it seems their filter is for use in IE, which I don't use. I was looking around Firefox's links and stuff and didn't really see anything, maybe I missed it? Also, when I do find a program will I have to download it under my administrative account and apply it to hers? (She has her own login that I just created for her.) Hope that made sense. Anyhow, I have Windows XP and use Firefox if that helps with suggestions. Thanks in advance!
  19. So are you just looking for a phone? Is he tied into a plan already or are you looking for a phone/plan?
  20. If the weather hits Saturday night, think of all of the people attending Rhythm and Booms.
  21. They had to know what kind of comic Lange was when they booked him, right? I have no problem with Lange or dirty comedy, but I find him to be such an odd choice for any show's debut.
  22. Not only am I all over the A/C, I just bought a new stand fan that blows directly on my bed. These window fans are great. I have two of them (in storage) but I can't use them anymore because I now have crank windows that open out, not up. When I had the proper windows, those fans would drastically cool down a room.
  23. That was just a cover of The Cure's version. Really? I hate both bands, but I wouldn't have guessed that. I just looked up song title "love song" and 311 popped up.
  24. I can see where multiple bands may put out a song with a basic name such as "Love Song", but you're not gonna see many "I Kissed A Girl" titles. "Love Song" was also a title released by 311 in the '90s and by Sara Bareilles in 2007.
  25. Nope, don't think I saw you. I was far too hot and annoyed with the Brewers to really notice the people around me, aside from the guys behind me. We were on the aisle in 416, on the 415 side. Also bugging me: It was Ryan Braun tradeable fathead night for kids and despite getting inside the stadium at 6, my daughter didn't get one, nor did I see them anywhere. I hope they didn't exhaust their supply by giving them to all of the Little Leaguers walking the field pre-game. It's not a big deal, but it was her first game and I told her in advance about the giveaway. Oh well.
