  1. BOOO!!! Though I am happy to report that my "Holidays are Over In ____ Days" calendar at work is under 60 days.
  2. When the 2nd PDQ was opened, there wasn't much development that far down Mineral Point Road. Target and all of Junction Road were only a developer's dream at that point. If I recall, there was nothing but a bar on that corner and you were on your way out of the city, so it shouldn't have been a very big deal at that time to cross traffic because there wasn't much coming into Madison. Either way, it's quite convenient nowadays.
  3. There's a similar situation in Madison on Mineral Point Road. There is a PDQ on either side of the road about 1/2 block apart. I thought I heard that they built the second location because a competitor was looking at the site.
  4. The bat allegedly survived so now Manu has to get rabies shots.
  5. Back door is perfect for all of those smoke breaks! (I kid)
  6. Family website and all, but brewcrewman17 left out the ending to the story....
  7. Pitch, I carved mine last week and the cool weather has kept them in fine condition. Mine don't burn super bright, I put a few tea candles in them each night. My only enemy is the squirrels who like to nibble them.
  8. At least it's not bad recordings of glorified worldly bands...give the kids effort for trying, as bad as it may seem...
  9. Co-ops rule! They keep the hippies away from me! My issue with the hippies is they complain when they go into the "normal" store and expect me to carry every single free-range, organic, gluten free, unbleached, soy, bulk, all-natural whatever they're looking for... Their desire is admirable, but unfortunately, as segregated as it sounds, there is a place for the things they desire and it's not your local warehouse store. Don't expect the world...and appreciate the items we do carry.
  10. My pumpkins are never anything special. I'm all about cooking/eating the seeds.
  11. If I heard U2 in my yard, it would be a deal breaker. I can deal with drunks and loud-mouths, but U2? No chance. I need a smiley face here. I really hate U2, but I'm playing. I'd only move if they played Dave Matthews or the Dead.
  12. I love Trader Joe's and Whole Foods....it gives certain people a place to shop where they can find their hippie, free-range, organic, gluten free, unbleached, soy, bulk, all-natural whatever they're looking for....all while not trying to sell me on the "you'd sell sooooo much of it if you carried it" line....
  13. I'd have to move if I heard U2. (Seriously? U2 is the tunnel music?) I'm OK with the swearing though. I'm most offended by the Badgers inability to beat quality opponents.
  14. Holiday (Columbus Day) for government workers. Hawing, I don't think my post will start the slacker perception...we all know how many days off state/gov. workers get.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. Half-day today for Madison schools. Every Monday is a short day as it is for Madison elementary schools. My daughter got out at the usual 1:45 Monday release time today. I just checked the MMSD website and it appears high school and middle school had early release for "staff development" and elementary had their usual Monday. Hawing, yes, a few of us commented on the amount of kids in there today. It was definitely a bit busy overall for a Monday today--it was expected though knowing that state workers had the day off.
  16. Let's leave the downtown crowd out of this....http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif But yeah, I saw the snowflakes as well. Surely, the city will be in panic mode and everyone's going shopping to stock up!
  17. 35% off at Sentry brings their prices down to a competitive level with other stores.
  18. Oh no, not yet. I saw Christmas trees in a department store already. Too early. I hate the holidays, except for the joy they bring my daughter.
  19. Even so, I'd like to think that the added significance of this game might encourage ESPN (or someone) to broadcast it. I'm sure my friend and I weren't the only random baseball fans looking to tune in to this game when we couldn't be home to watch it on TV. If they can regularly broadcast Sunday Night Baseball across the radio networks, I think they could get this one on as well. I guess I could've sat in my car while on my breaks at work and tuned it in on XM...oh well.
  20. Oh, that sounds so good. I would probably burst from trying so many different varieties.
  21. As far as I know, the Tigers/Twins playoff game was not on 100.5. A friend and I both saw the TV/radio listings in the paper with no radio link provided. The problem with 100.5, as it always has been, is the signal is not that great in Madison to the point that I can't pick it up on the radio in my house.
  22. Didn't he just sign a huge contract along the lines of DiPietro's in NY? Something like 15 years?
  23. Nothing better than "Hockey Night in Canada". Those Saturday night matchups always feel like the playoffs. For the most part, teams from Canada play each other on Saturday night.
  24. trwi7--I'm down with this being a total hockey thread. I just wanted to get the discount angle out there.....
  25. Thanks Hawing!
