  1. Right now, everything is a good deal. There are a lot of generic shirts with their own label. That's why I looked at the tag before grabbing anything.
  2. Bringing this thread back.... Just got back from S&B at West Towne in Madison and they are definitely going out of business. Everything is for sale including the display TVs. I think everything in the store is 50-80% off. Anyway, I got out of there with 10 items of clothing for $30. I bought two pairs of Starbury basketball shorts (kind of look like Knicks jersey shorts) after discount for $1.89/pair. I also bought 7 college logo tees (good quality, not S&B label) for $3.99/each or less. Just thought I'd post this in case anyone was interested in checking it out.
  3. I also must give it a positive review. I have the unlimited 2-at-a-time plan and I probably get 15-20 movies a month, which is quite a steal at somewhere around $15/month. We basically always have one going back or coming in. It's real nice because my daughter (who is 7) can always get a different kids movie and her mother can get whatever she wants to see, so they're both happy. For me it's nice because I may watch 5 movies a year (yep, I never watch movies), but when I decide I want one, I can get it. Also, there is very quick turnaround in Madison. They must have a local distribution site because all of my envelopes go to a local PO Box and I get an email withing 12 hours stating they have received my latest return and shipping of my next movie is arriving the next day.
  4. I'm no forecaster RoCo, but it sounds like the big snow is starting Thursday night and going right into Friday morning. Everything I'm reading indicates up to a foot of snow throughout Dane County. The worst part is I was just reading that there is potential for 2-4" on both Saturday and Sunday as well. We're well on our way to making last year look like nothing. Quick Grinch rant....I know it's Christmas, but I don't want to hear about having a white Christmas. I'd rather freeze my rear off with a brown/gray/green Christmas than have a flake of snow on the ground. Phew, I feel better now.
  5. I'm guessing the game you saw was #4 Montana vs. #1 James Madison? A few years ago, college football went to the labels of FBS and FCS. FBS=Football Bowl Subdivision FCS=Football Championship Subdivision FBS are the big boys in their bowl games. FCS is what FBS needs to do: college playoffs.
  6. Dion Phaneuf (the new boyfriend) is a solid defenseman for the Flames, but not much of a goon. Unfortunately for Phaneuf, Brashear plays for the Capitals and Calgary's top enforcer is out with a broken jaw. So, I guess Phaneuf would've had to step up and take care of his own business. However, Avery is a decent fighter, so he'd have his work cut out.
  7. I totally feel the same way. I've always wondered about the small milk boxes that are sold right by the juice boxes non-refrigerated.
  8. Watch it. Understand it. Love it. As indicated earlier, the Commish was almost looking for a reason to suspend Avery for his past transgressions.
  9. I thought it was funny. I'm a huge hockey fan, and like Avery's game. He's got decent offensive skills and is as tough as anyone. The thing I really like is that if anyone wants to take issue with Avery over this, he won't back down from anyone and will drop the gloves in a second to fight his own battle. I'm sure Bettman saw this as an opportunity to ball all of his infractions into one and send Avery a little message about his behavior.
  10. Despite their tuning down, I still live less than 5 miles away from the station. I assume their transmitter is there by the station as well.... As for WTMJ, I can get it just fine in my car. At home, it's good some times, shaky others.
  11. Yeah, it was chilly this morning but at least there was no wind.
  12. The program director (Tim Scott) is still at 1070 which means he'll still be airing car racing on the weekend, right?! Oh, goodie. He's the biggest reason I got satellite: so I could get sports updates and coverage on the weekend instead of vroom, vroom. On my radio at home, I'll listen to 100.5.
  13. Actually, there are some companies that offer egg nog year-round, but most retailers know they won't move much of it in the warmer months. There is always a short stint of Easter egg nog available in the spring too. For the real diehards, Borden makes a shelf stable (non-refrigerated), egg nog that I've seen on the shelf all year. http://onlinestore.smucker.com/images/catalog/prodimages/eggnog285.jpg
  14. Sounds like the marketing pitch used for the Segway. I saw a guy riding one of those in the grocery store last week. There are parking spots for cars and a bike rack for bikes, but where does one park his Segway? You don't....you ride it thru the aisles.
  15. In the past, we'd all be surprised if Madison closed schools, but with a new Superintendent in place we may be seeing some new views on things. Rainwater was set in his ways about closing things down and Nerad brings a new outlook. A MMSD spokesman said they were concerned about all of the children who walk to school (he said 50% of kids walk to school in Madison). The concern was bad road conditions and icy sidewalks combining to be a dangerous situation for kids. Either way, it's leading to some scrambling to find a place to send my daughter this afternoon.
  16. For me, I really like spicy food.... -Subway $5 subs. You can really load 'em up with veggies. I get lettuce, cukes, green peppers, onions and hot peppers on mine. -Quizno's Ranchero prime rib with chipotle peppers. Unfortunately, it's not available right now. -The only Wendy's I like is the seasonal jalapeno melt burgers. -In the non-spicy category, I love Arby's chicken salad sandwich. It's got chicken, apples, grapes and nuts on wheat bread.
  17. It would be nice if they'd make some of the remaining t-shirts/merch available in their online store on brewers.com for those of us who couldn't make it down to the sale.
  18. Props to FTJ for really taking one for the team that night.
  19. I was seriously thinking about converting to a religion that didn't worship Christmas trees at one point. Festivus. It's for the rest of us.
  20. For those in Madison, former Brewers pitcher Brad Woodall is opening an indoor baseball/softball facility in Middleton. http://www.madison.com/tct/sports//315043
  21. If a guy hipsters think is lame likes it, I like it.
  22. A. Goes without saying B. Who would I celebrate it with? C. What if she turned out to be not so dreamy, though I doubt that would happen. D. Seinfeld is in reruns, no chance to appear for 6 new shows. E. Not gonna happen. Always gonna be some crazies out there. Give me A.
  23. First off, I am getting it. I've got the entire GnR catalog, so this is a must. I'm really interested to see the numbers this album moves. I can't decide if anticipation is so great that it will be a huge mover or if apathy set in years ago waiting for this album and no one other than the diehards grab it. Based on the Best Buy promotion, I'm guessing they're anticipating decent sales. Also, remember to go to Dr. Pepper's website on the date of the album release to get your coupon for a free 20 oz. bottle of Dr. Pepper. I'm sure many of you know the story, but some bigwig at Dr. Pepper made an announcement earlier this year that if Chinese Democracy were released in 2008, he'd give everyone free Dr. Pepper.
  24. I defrost packaged steaks on the counter top all day before cooking them for dinner. I'm starting to wonder about food disease and stuff after I watched Anthony Bourdain eating raw pork in China. But raw pork is supposed to kill you or something, right?
