  1. Was DFA by LA Dodgers. With Melvin about to sign Tavarez because he's a veteran arm, does Loaiza interest him as well (or to some degree)?
  2. Someone here just recently talked about a similar free trip, but I don't recall who it was. Edit-Search function reveals: http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=12632
  3. I saw the bratfest was this weekend, but figured the boy would be bored quickly. Now that they've added lots of kid-friendly activities, he may not get bored as quickly as you'd think. I know they have a carnival like midway with games and rides, plus there is a rock wall and kayaking for kids to try. I've never been there, so I only speak of what I've read and heard from others. http://www.bratfest.com/highlights.php
  4. I'm just a little curious about the likes of Willy Porter, Gomez (?) and Mickey Hart playing a stage sponsored by WJJO. I think we've discussed stage sponsorship in the past and how it doesn't mean they decide on who plays, but these are 3 acts that no one who listens to JJO would ever even contemplate going to see. Odd selections to me, that's all. It does seem to me that there aren't as many big names headlining the free stages as years gone by though. I'm sure I'll still go down one day, but more than likely it will be just to do some "sightseeing".
  5. I agree with Clue. I'm glad Owen came in and did something he did not have to do. Edit-Speaking of traffic and publicity, this thread is linked over on ESPN 1070's website on Heller&Murphy's page.
  6. He was working with the program director Tim Scott yesterday. If Scott was involved, I'm surprised they didn't just re-run some three hour nascar show. Brian, I'm sure grocery baggers take offense to that statement. They're far more informed about baseball than a talking head.
  7. I got the play on words, but have no clue about the actual show.
  8. I just saw this over on Sports Bubbler. That guy will never hear the end of this.
  9. Mine is my signature.
  10. Interesting dreams. I'm odd in that I don't remember my dreams. I know I have them sometimes, but I have no idea what they're about.
  11. I'd been waiting the entire playoffs for one of these all-nighters and finally got it!
  12. Pens got a nice bounce on that game winner landing right on Hossa's stick. I'm not sure how NYR stuck with them that long, they just looked so tentative in their defensive zone. It seemed they couldn't cleanly clear the zone at any time. Good for Pittsburgh. I look forward to this next series.
  13. Why am I watching an edited version of Major League on Bravo when the real version sits 5 feet away on the shelf?
  14. it happened two or three years ago to a horse who was vying for the triple crown (can't remember the name, but they did some surgeries but the horse died a month or so later anyway). I think that was Barbaro.
  15. Philly and Pittsburgh would be a fun series to watch. In the past, the East has been the more defense-minded conference, but these two have defied that in these playoffs.
  16. I see this thread is slipping... Wow, did Montreal let one get away tonight. Up 3-1 at home and lose 6-4 to get eliminated. Their young goalie, Price, really fell apart in this series.
  17. Yeah, there's always that disheartening angle to horse racing. I hate seeing that too. It is really sad.
  18. Looks like my longshot will pay well (not for me since I chose Pyro instead) but with a tragic ending.
  19. Nothing fancy for me, Pyro (#9), across the board, with upset consideration given to Eight Belles, who as a filly is not being considered a concern by oddsmakers. Good luck, docduany!
  20. Ha! That was Fox tonight? I just figured it was the other bullpen torch, Wuertz.
  21. That was an exciting game. Follow it up with an OT game and that makes for a fine night of hockey viewing.
  22. Way to take advantage of that situation, 2 on with the heart of the order up and a pop-up is our best AB.
  23. Hate to waste the first two getting on base....
  24. One of Kapler's few poor ABs this year....
