  1. Isn't it amazing that Tom Glavine has turned into an average pitcher now that he no longer gets the strike call on the pitch that's 6 inches outside? I feel the same way about Maddux.
  2. No, he was an original battler and gamer. That's a battling scar.
  3. Just go when you're ready. If the lot's not open, you can start the line.
  4. For a second there, I was wondering where Brian got a picture of me. Then I saw the girls and knew it wasn't me.
  5. I seem to remember fielding a few bunts in college and throwing them to the right fielder. I have no idea why it happened, but after it happened once, I started thinking about it every time. I think I was in a hurry and then would short-arm it.
  6. Putting my non-hipster status aside to play along......http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Dimeriella sacchari"The World's a Cage" http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2234/2563725036_a4e53d7e5c_m.jpg
  7. If I recall, someone around here has mentioned being an HVAC guy, so maybe they can help with this. Who was that now?
  8. That's what I was thinking, but without the blue font.
  9. From Closing Time over on Yahoo: On Wednesday, Coco Crisp went into second unnecessarily hard on a stolen base attempt, colliding with Akinori Iwamura. That displeased Rays' manager Joe Maddon, who later said, "I totally felt it was an intent to hurt our middle infielder." Maddon and Crisp exchanged words. Crisp described his side of the discussion this way:
  10. Seems like all opposing pitchers hit well against us. With Owings, I'll at least accept it because he can really hit.
  11. Gary Thorne is great, but I do like Mike Emrick just as much. I don't mind the way he sounds, he's just really into it. I can see where it could bother some though. I am also fired up for Game 6. As an added bonus, I believe the Brewers have an afternoon game on Wed. so I won't have to be flipping channels.
  12. I hope I wasn't the only one who watched that 3OT thriller last night. That arena was just buzzing--I can't believe Pittsburgh pulled one out of Detroit. I'd also like to mention that I think NBC's coverage has been very good with great announcing all around. I also love the commercial-free OT periods. Last night goes 3OT and it was still over by 11:30PM.
  13. A buddy of mine had his up to $27 last week, but he has dipped back into the $20 range now. I may have gotten around $10 once, but I tend to make risky (see:stupid) bets because it isn't costing me anything and I don't really ever see myself cashing anything out.
  14. I saw that too and mentioned it in a thread below where someone is selling one in advance.
  15. It seems these bobbles are delayed in customs and won't be given away at Sunday's game after all. Apparently the first 500 fans will get the equivalent of a rain check for future pick up. http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=3650033
  16. something that did not make me feel good about that ride at all, oh, and the, um, "man parts" issue with the harness. I love that ride. I think the trick is to squat down low before they lock the seat into position. The squat affords you a little extra room.
  17. These are Cubs fans, the shirts are probably flying off the rack.
  18. Sorry, I just don't get it. Luckily, the game starts in 10 minutes so this thread can get back on topic--tonight's game.
  19. Are these charts the hot new thing? Hopefully they're taking the place of those stupid cat pictures. At least these charts are somewhat funny.
  20. I've heard from friends that you can add Encore to that list.
  21. You may be thinking of his teammate, Vander Blue, who has already given UW a verbal commitment.
  22. Al, when you are at zero there should be a big picture of a penny on your page when you log in. Click on it.
  23. It really depends for this. If you attend a two year university, but then you decide to transfer to a private college, things can get messy. Also, Madison doesn't have the same credit requirements as other universities, so even though the credits will transfer, they may not be enough. All I remember is that when I was at MATC, you were able to tell if a course transferred to the UW system by looking at the course number (a certain numerical combination=transfer credit). Back then (yeah, the dark ages), they were transferable to all UW schools, but I'm sure some of that has changed.
  24. Have you considered a two year junior college to start out and then transfer to a big school after two years? It seems to me that the first two years of college are mostly basic credit courses that transfer rather readily to the larger schools. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyhow, I played baseball at MATC-Madison for two years and all of my college credits transferred to UW-Whitewater, so I was on par with all of the other juniors the day I got there. If you seriously want to play ball, try to take in a game and set up a meeting with the manager.
  25. I'm not looking to acquire him, just wondering what people think.
