  1. Someone please remind Jim Edmonds he's supposed to suck. Scubs lead SF 3-0.
  2. my entire body twitches and I wake up. This does happen to me, but there is no dream leading up to it. It's like a jolt.
  3. Mets have the lead over STL.
  4. Not even close to Steve "Human Rain Delay" Trachsel status.
  5. No cycle for Pedroia, he doubled this AB.
  6. I've watched a lot of their games this year, they are fun to watch. It's nice to see a perennial doormat keep winning and sit atop Boston and NYY in the standings. I don't want to be a bandwagon guy, but I'm on board rooting for them. Edit-As I type, Bartlett with a 2-RBI single, 7-4 Rays. Love it, fans breaking out the brooms! Edit2- Rays sweep. Not to mention a rip--don't the Red Sox play "sweet Caroline" at all of their games (7th inning stretch maybe)? As soon as the game ended, the public address went to that very song.
  7. Mets tied the Cards in the 4th. Edit- Ankiel just took Pedro yard. 5-4 Cards.
  8. Where was that? Poor control early= no call.
  9. I'm pretty confident in my baseball abilities and plan on trying out for the team if I go to La Crosse or Oshkosh. Or the club team at Marquette or Madison or Eau Claire. (anybody know anything about club teams) The UW club team has a website. Not sure how often it is updated, but it may help in some way. http://uwclubbaseball.rso.wisc.edu/
  10. Easley with a 2 RBI single, Mets are within one run. 4-3 Cards in the 3rd.
  11. How could Trenni ever look haggard? Hitting the beer tents at Summerfest all day?
  12. Per Yahoo, tests on his right shoulder "revealed bursitis and showed an internal rotational deficit". This may work out well for us as Pittsburgh is in town this weekend. This is a definite blow to their bullpen.
  13. Owings was scratched with "some kind of back problem" according to Tom Haudricort.
  14. Cards have already hung a 4 spot on Pedro in the 1st.
  15. I'm not a gamer at all, and there's no way I plan on having to (gasp) think while I play!
  16. Stevo, is that a 3-piece that dress as batteries on stage? Sorry, I'm sure that one's been used many times before. Have fun at Summerfest, fellas. I've got tickets, but there's just no one playing that is inspiring me to drive down from Madison. I could go for some people watching and grub, but that's a lot of gas money for lunch and looking at women.
  17. No Braun tonight. Perhaps he's spending the night creating fake email addresses to vote for himself...or just a night off because he's had a rough week. Lineups: Counsell Hardy Hart Fielder Branyan Kapler Cameron Kendall McClung Ojeda Drew Hudson Jackson Tracy Young Upton Montero Petit
  18. I was just at my parents last weekend and they had just ordered a box that included hot dogs and steaks. The hot dogs were huge. Pretty good stuff, depends on what you're looking for. The prices aren't bad, so it's worth a try once to see if you like it. I like the looks of that top sirloin package or the "overstock special" of 32 4 oz. (quarter pounders) burgers for $39 on their page. As an added bonus, they received a 6-piece knife set (which is now mine), that included a chef's knife (something I've been wanting). I can tell you this, they are definitely better than No Name Steaks--tried once, never again.
  19. Always David. Never a flavor, that's just wrong. When I was playing ball, we'd go through a ridiculous amount of those each game.
  20. Regarding Matt Young's effort, from wikipedia: On April 12, 1992, Young faced the Cleveland Indians in the first game of a doubleheader, allowing two runs, seven walks, and an error by shortstop Luis Rivera[2] en route to the fourth no-hitter by a losing pitcher.
