  1. I set up my weber charcoal grill for smoking and it makes outstanding ribs, pork butts, chickens, etc. I had a dedicated smoker, some cheap-o brand, but it never seemed to hold heat well and was a pain in the butt to clean. I get better results with my old charcoal grill.
  2. I love roundabouts. I'm serious. There's admittedly a learning curve, but they move traffic more efficiently than most other forms of control and are much safer. That said, I hate it when people don't use their turn signals when turning or changing lanes. It's a basic courtesy.
  3. In N' Out fries are better, but the Culvers Double Deluxe stacks up well against any fast food burger.
  4. Those kind of comments belong over at the Political board, not here. Just because he's a devout Christian who stays closed on Sundays, does not make him a "weird nut". There's more to it than that...at least from what I've read. Anyway, I love In N' Out. Burgerville looks really good too.
  5. Everything I've ever heard about Uecker leads me to believe he's a world class jerk. But man, he's great at his job, so I guess I don't care.
  6. Might be kind of an obvious one, but ET is my all time favorite film.
  7. My whole family loved Millions. The brit accents are a bit heavy, but it's a kids movie that the whole family should enjoy.
  8. I asked my in-laws for permission, only because they had told me they were upset with their son-in-law who didn't ask. I think it's outdated and lame, but whatever, they didn't and that's what matters. Anyway, ask them right away. I was going to wait until after we had ordered dinner, but my mother-in-law is blunt and such and asked right away why I was taking them out for dinner. She knew what was up. She also ordered the pork chop special, which was great because I couldn't really afford to take them out for dinner to begin with (which I think they also knew).
  9. After living in the twin cities market for five years I left with the impression that they were pretty much all fair weather fans. Except for with the Wild and Gopher hockey.
  10. I love country music! But Corey Hart has horrible, horrible taste in country.
  11. Chocolate/fudge and stout/porter. Made for each other. French fries dipped in chocolate shakes. Milk and almost anything...except sushi.
  12. I second the Kohler Design Center. It's pretty amazing if you appreciate toilets.
  13. The latest update on the Wisconsin State Journal was that 94 west bound will likely remain closed for quite some time since the water needs to recede far enough for the Rock and Crawfish bridges to be inspected before the highway can be reopened.
  14. My wife and I both got MOTOROKR's (looks like a Rizr but has a built in MP3 player or something) about two weeks ago. I hate mine. The sound is poor, battery seems to go dead very quickly. The other morning on my way to work it started beeping at me saying that the charge attempt failed even though it wasn't plugged into anything. My wife's won't hold a charge at all. I think when she returns from her business trip we're taking them back. We both had KRZR's and I loved mine, but my wife's speaker went all fuzzy after about a year and a half. I think I'm going to look at the new RAZR.
  15. Is anyone else really bothered by the Miller Lite commercial that refers to the Brewers as "The team that loves to win,"? That line bothers me every single time I hear it. It's so lame.
  16. I'm not giving the union a free pass. Like I said, it's been a hindrance - a big one - but people are relishing the fall of GM so they can damn the unions some more. It's like some people are taking glee in it (not referring to anyone here).
  17. I don't think it's fair to look at GM's collapse and cry "It's the union's fault!" The fish rots from the head down. You mean nobody at the top anticipated the rise of gas prices and the decline of the SUV? If GM would've been a bit more creative over the years at the top level, design, etc. they'd be competing just fine. Sure the union has been a hindrance, but I think laying the blame solely on the workers is just convenient for the anti-union crowd.
  18. I was sitting at a light on Cottage Grove Road the other morning and some jerk did that. I can't stand people who don't follow the rules of the road, doesn't matter what they're riding. Edit: I seem to recall a story from Madison a few years ago where a person on a bike collided with a car after blowing a stop light or sign and the police had a mess of people call or show up at the station saying they witnessed the accident and it was the bicyclists fault. People are fed up with the bad apples.
  19. No, I'm pretty sure he meant to type fastest. Article on sprint times from 07 camp I doubt Hardy lost all that speed in a year.
  20. Next time they call you - and they will call again and again - answer and tell them to stop calling you. Otherwise they will call 4-5 times a week to pressure you. My wife signed up for this last year. I finally answered the phone and told them to stop calling after a month of it.
  21. The Simpsons, at its peak, leaves Family Guy in the dust. Even when the Simpsons got lame in the last 6-8 years it's still better...I think that says a lot about how I feel about the quality of Family Guy.
  22. When I was like 4 until I was a teenager I had recurring dreams involving malicious Muppets. Not Muppets that were bad or mean Muppets on the Muppet Show, but nice Muppets like Kermit turning evil and wishing to do harm to me. It was really disturbing since I loved the Muppet Show and Sesame Street as a kid. It's probably why I was so enamored with the old Bert Is Evil website.
  23. I have a cheap-o norelco electric razor that works well on my face, but the results on my neck are awful. It doesn't get the hair and I end up with terrible razor burn. I'll have to try the hair conditioner thing.
  24. The screen was black, so I reset the box and now the HD screen is gray. I don't get a couple of other channels in HD, so I'm guessing I need a tech to come out. Thanks for the help.
  25. I have Directv and for some reason I didn't get the FSN HD feed Sunday, and it looks like I'm not getting it again tonight. Anyone else having this problem? Any explanation?
