  1. I ate there all the time in high school. Used to go there once a week for pancakes after track practice. I hadn't developed a taste for eggs Benedict at that point.
  2. Where? My parents live in GB and my dad is a total breakfast freak. I love eggs Benedict.
  3. I saw Geoff Jenkins and Jeff Cirillo at Chipotle in Brookfield a few years back. They were drinking Orange Julius at a table in the back of the restaurant. They were both dressed like teenagers...it was weird.
  4. "Oscar-worthy" catch was used because the clip first aired on Oscar Sunday. That's direct from the source.
  5. Yeah, he rarely makes any sense. Funny that he chose broadcasting. He fits right in with the rest of them.
  6. That's the best man in my wedding making the call. He's getting his moment of internet fame now. I am now internet famous by association!
  7. My suggestion is to get a good BBQ cookbook and go for the gusto. I grill as much as I can year round and I really enjoy trying out new recipes. I love yogurt marinated chicken. Drain plain yogurt in a lined strainer, mix in some garlic, lemon juice and oregano, marinate for a few hours, grill like any other piece of chicken. The yogurt makes a delicious crust and the acids in it make the chicken really moist and tender. You can also mix in curry or whatever. The sky's the limit.
  8. Speaking as someone who works in the paper business in the Madison area - It's a shame and not totally unexpected. The Cap. Times have been battling major circulation issues for years (most of it due to them being an afternoon paper). Since they're part of a partnership with the State Journal, they were weighing down the State Journal. Also, they are for lack of a better term, a niche newspaper. So few people read daily papers now, that you had to wonder how long a niche publication like that could keep going, even in a community that's geared towards that niche. I'm kind of saddened by it, I love how Madison supported two daily newspapers (unheard of for a small city nowadays). I also loved how you could read an editorial in the State Journal in the morning endorsing something, and then in the afternoon the Cap Times would endorse the opposite. The Editor, Dave Zweifel, is stepping down and he's lived that paper for the past 30-40 years. It's sad to see that happen.
  9. Let us know if you find it there...I was of the understanding they didn't sell it in Wisconsin. I usually pick it up when I visit relatives in Rockford.
  10. My wife still listens to it at work, for some reason they haven't canceled that.
  11. My wife and I had it for almost two years, but decided we weren't using it enough to justify the expense. If you do a lot of driving (long commutes, business travel) or have more obscure music tastes it can be really nice. I really like Americana/alt-country music, so XM was a god send for that sort of thing. But since we both only drive about 20 minutes to work and don't drive a lot of long distances we weren't using it a whole lot. Getting reception in the house was a pain, so I almost never used it outside of my car.
  12. I bought a keg of Guinness a few years ago and paid between $125-150 for it. On top of that was a rental fee (nominal) and a huge deposit for the nitro system to pour the keg. This was maybe 5 or six years ago.
  13. I'm a big fan of the "big beers" that a lot of Wisconsin microbreweries are doing right now. They take a style of beer (Stout, Pale Ale, Bock. etc.) and they blow it up and take it to extremes. Sprecher has their "Premium Reserve," Tyranena does "Brewers Gone Wild" and New Glarus does "Unplugged." I'm a hophead (meaning I love the hoppy, bitter beers like IPA, APA, Pale Ale) so I've been in heaven with some of the beers that have come out in these lines of beer. Tyranena did a stout that brewed with oatmeal and coffee beans that was probably the tastiest beer I've ever had. I probably sound like a beer snob, but I'm not really. I'm just adventurous in my tastes. I like the saying "Life is too short to drink cheap beer," but I always have some Miller Lite or Leinies Light (lawnmower beer) in the fridge for a change or for tailgating. If people want to drink all macrobrews that's fine. But there's so much good beer out there to try.
  14. I thought this was one of the best baseball books I've ever read. I could hardly put it down and I don't consider myself a big fan of either guy.
  15. This is really obscure. If anyone remembers the farce of a show, "Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire?", they'll remembers the millionaire, Rick Rockwell was kind of shady in real life and I think they got divorced right away. Anyway, he toured the country doing stand up after the show, trying to capitalize on his fame. He was in Green Bay and me and some friends sat in the booth next to him at Denny's. We were pretty rude, talking about him and stuff.
  16. It's the sport of poets. There's a beauty to the sport that I can't even begin to describe.
  17. I'll be right down on the field Saturday, cheering my butt off with a group of five.
  18. I picked up a 12-pack yesterday not sure what to think and I really enjoy it. I'm mostly a microbrew drinker because the big brewers make some pretty bad beer, but Miller got this right. The lime isn't overpowering and the salt is really subtle. I can see myself drinking it a lot on hot summer days.
