  1. This won't show is if he's over throwing his fastball and hence losing control. IE to get to 92 Sheets has to throw harder and thus has less control. Another thing with Sheets though is he throws 2 different curves so he really isn't a 2 pitch pitcher (he has the really big breaking one and then the tight breaking one he tends to throw for strikes). Haven't watched him this year I don't know what exactly his issues are.
  2. I assumed they were being set up to switch off to keep them both fresh and matchup in innings 6 & 7. But nope.
  3. Blake thought he was beat, he never thought Gomez would start his slide two feet early
  4. I hate watching batters trying to bunt balls that are about to hit them
  5. Davis is only going to go 5 innings since he needs to get 5 outs an inning
  6. He's been lucky with home runs. His xFIP is 4.09 making him a solid starter but not a #1.
  7. Braun could have had it if he kept going forward. No dive needed. The single up the middle made me think, have the Brewers become so in love with Escobar's range that they no longer shift much?
  8. Obviously its to get Gomez as many PA as possible so he can steal a bunch of bases so he when Cain replaces him at the end of the year they can trade him to the White Sox for a much better player, say Alex Rios and $20m.
  9. Well sure it can be done but he's under market price for a closer so you'll have to pay a huge price in prospects and then risk him blowing up as a starter. Should he have been a starter? Probably but its likely too late now.
  10. He's already 29. So little reason to even try.
  11. Well yes Suppan vs Sheets is an easy call. But its Sheets vs Wolf.
  12. Greinke is arguably the best pitcher in MLB signed to a very good contract. You're not getting him for a catcher many think won't be able to hack it defensively, a bullpen guy in his 3rd year, a 3B who has been injured and may have to move to 1B and a top prospect. 3 top prospects would be what the Royals would demand. Something like Escobar, Lawrie and Lucroy. You might change one of those for 2 decent prospects but not 2 of them
  13. How would trading for a closer and paying the trade premium of a closer and then trying to make him a starter make any sense?
  14. I see no way this would happen without including Escobar or Lawrie and most likely both of them.
  15. McGehee has been terrible at 3B. Part of th reason the Brewers pitching looks so bad is that the team is bad defensively at 3B and LF.
  16. I'm sure Ray would love to come back to Milwaukee, and I would love to see him back, but I'm not sure he would fit on a Scott Skiles team. He just doesn't play defense well enough, and with Delfino and Redd already on the roster, it would be too many of the same type of player. If Redd and Delfino were not on the team, I think it would work.My guess is Redd's career is over.
  17. JDLR wasn't going to make the roster the following season. JDLR couldn't even keep a Royals roster spot.
