  1. Mass Effect 2 isn't coming out until 2010. What is coming out in 2009 is Dragon Age which has been in development now for 6 or 7 years (it won Best of E3 back in like 2005).
  2. His current 753 is closer to 730 than 800. Yes he's been trending uo. His last 28 days: 0.348/0.387/0.482. The power is nice to see but his overall line is all due to a BABIP of .411. Something that just doesn't carry over as more than luck.
  3. No one's saying he's been rushed yet no matter what strawmen you wish to erect. He has a 730 OPS in AAA. That doesn't scream ready, it screams hanging on. He's young so its hardly terrible but he's not Gamel or Weeks or Fielder or even Hardy.
  4. Not sure what the huge rush is. He has neither plate discipline nor power at this point. His age 29 season will be much more valuable than his age 23 season anyway so why do people want to rush him?
  5. It would be a good return however it would make the Brewers worse right now.
  6. Its because Macha screwed up twice in his substitutions. The first was double switch of Hart which should have been Hall for Gamel since you knew Hall was going to come in anyway. So now the pitcher is 7th and Gerut is 9th. Now the big thing is instead of putting Hall in the pitcher's spot after Gamel made the last out and doing a double switch, he put Hall in as a straight sub for Gamel. So he was down to two RH bench bats for his pitcher and for Gerut. That said Kendall being Kendall should have been bunting.
  7. Yep I think people are attributing a bit too much to 17 innings by Hoffman. Coffey is having a career year, Villaneuva was terrible in spring and to start the year but came around, Stetter was recognized as being more than just a LOOGY, DeFelice was given a real chance. Hoffman's obviously been close to perfect but the rest of the pen is very good.
  8. Not sure how Aviles helps your discussion... Now Scutaro! Heether just looks to be a better bet than McGehee as this point if you expect that person to get 150 PAs at 2B going forward.
  9. The only thing surprising about this is that it came this quickly, I gave it one more season. Memphis could lose 38 wins from '07-08 Can we end this farce already and just pay the players like the minor leaguers they are? (Edit: Added clickability to link. Yuku's Convert URLs feature, which automatically makes URLs clickable, has only worked sporadically since February. It's supposed to be fixed with the next code push. We don't know when that push will be, but we've been told that it's not in the immediate future --1992)
  10. Well some are great. In general if Obi Wan shows up for more than 30 secs it'll be good.
  11. For those who don't know there is a certain OFer putting up over a 900 OPS this season and that is very OBP heavy: Juan Pierre--Super Star! .367/.431/.437 Now obviously this is a fluke (BABIP of .407) but its a reminder that luck is still a huge influence over stats at this point in the season and that there are always going to be some strange outliers.
  12. What makes you think they don't have a budget? Yes they spend a lot of money but it isn't limitless. And they aren't freeing up much money for next year with expiring contracts,
  13. Cameron's WAR 2.7. Dunn's WAR 0.4. That would have been a terrible move even before you get into the defensive drop off moving Hart and Braun brings. Dunn can't play the field really, he's subFielder at 1B. As to eating Ortiz's contract, they need a corner OFer. So while they might eat Ortiz's contract it doesn't mean they have $25m to spend next year on a starting corner OFer and a new DH.
  14. He really hasn't. A .265/.321/.327 line isn't very good and even more its right in line with his projections. Heether looks to be a significant upgrade. Counsell is going to stop hitting at some point and the Brewers need another decent option.
  15. The fly by Gamel should have been caught. McLouth is just not a CFer. He'll likely be in a corner next year.
  16. Heether up and McGehee down. There really is no reason to think McGehee will outperform Heether at this point and its not like McGehee is some young prospect.
  17. He hasn't been good sine 2002. He's only had even one decent year since 2005. His K/BB ration is 1.13 this year. He's a #6 at best.
  18. They already owe lots of money to Ortiz and Youkilis and want to bring back Bay. They have lots of money but another $12m next year for 1B/DH is still a hefty amount when they already are spending over $21m there. Sure the Sox have a lot of money but they aren't a black hole and they already have Lugo taking up $9m next season.
  19. At least with Bush it was obvious something was wrong, his velocity was way down early. Still can't believe he didn't a file a complaint agaisnt the Brewers and got sent down instead of going on the DL because obviously something was physically wrong even if it was just a dead arm. As for Parra, looking at his pitch data, it looks like they are making him a fastball changeup pitcher. All his off speed stuff is down except for change up which is way up. He has also lost some velocity of his fastball and 2 mph on his splitter
  20. If Mat Gamel was any other player everyone would be calling for him to sit.
  21. Escobar is sub Bill Hall vs RHP. Right now in AAA he's hitting 0.245/0.299/0.329 vs RHP. I have no clue why he has such a platoon split but its large and its consistent. For Escobar's career: .348/.390/.441 vs LHP .280/.310/.358 vs RHP He did better vs RHP last year so hopefully it omes around again.
  22. Dunn doesn't seem like a good fit for the Sox given his price tag for next year. Nick Johnson on the other hand does. As for Sanchez, everything sounds like the Pirates don't want him back next year and are fighting to keep his PAs down to keep his option from being automatic while looking like they are not trying to keep his PAs down. EDIT:Could have included Johnson among infielders but he really doesn't have a place in Milwaukee so I skipped him
  23. Huff has trouble at 1B, not sure how he fits in with the Brewers. As for other infielders: Beltre, Felipe Lopez, Freddy Sanchez, Branyan Edit:Atkins is available but not really wanted.
  24. Looper and Suppan are likely done after the Brewers and they shouldn't want Bush back given a normal market. That leaves the potential Lee and they likely couldn't afford him.
