  1. Yeah if only the Brewers had the true ace like Capuano!
  2. I thought Blum is the guy you have to make beat you while avoiding Berkman? This is just so confusing....
  3. Kendall has no power because he can't elevate a ball, never could. It really is that simple, he found out his best chance to hit has always been to pound the ball on the ground. His speed used to help a lot but that's gone now.
  4. I'm not upset about the sheets non-bunt, Quintero has a great arm so getting a guy to 3B might have been tough. Sending Cameron on that ball by Sveum with only one out was just idiotic.
  5. Dale Sveum-showing why he was hated in Boston
  6. Houston's defense is terrible and that's without Carlos Lee! Durham should have been out and Hardy likely should have been an out
  7. No, Villaneauva logged a lot of innings. Riske, Shouse, Gange, and Mota have hardly pitched.
  8. Because the US team also hit two Chinese batters? They already took out one catcher before this. And if Schierholz did what he did in MLB he would be looking at at least a 5 game suspension. He basically lowered his shoulder and speared the catcher (yes he jumped into him) when the catcher wasn't really close to the plate. If the basketball team did somethggn similar the cants of thuggish NBA players would never die down.
  9. Unless the players are acting on behalf of the front office, no. And of course Houston has a decent chance to finish below .500 which means no 1st round pick.
  10. The reason why this was a stupid move was that there was no upside. What was the benefit of Sabathia pitching? A nice number on his baseball card? All there was was downside, Sabathia hitting for himself, tiring him out when his command was questionable, and putting even more rust on a bullpen that doesn't get enough innings as it is. As for Sabathia saying he was fine to go, Pedro Martinez told Grady Little he was fine too.
  11. yep, when hit to Ray Durham they become hits
  12. No he doesn't-Cy Youngs and MVPs only
  13. It makes absolutely no difference to Sabathia's salary
  14. Well he's got to face Berkman to keep him hitting right handed now!
  15. So who will Yost completely wear out first: Jason Kendall, Craig Counsell, or CC Sabathia?
  16. Hopefully Yost is just using CC to keep Berkman turnee around====yeah that's it!
  17. Yeah, as soon as Durham teaches Weeks how to make what should have been a DP ball into a hit we'll be all set!
  18. Yep Team USA was acting like thugs, Schierholz went out his way to wipe out the catcher up 4-0 despite having an easy slide to score. He launched himself at the catcher.
  19. The home away splits for Adams are identical. Adams always had talent and was rather good for two season with Milwaukee.
  20. If Cameron was capable of hitting for 25 more points and had a higher OBP it would be nice but meaningless because he wouldn't be in Milwaukee. BTW Cameron's career OBP is .340 while Lee's is .344.
  21. Dodgers start latter due to LA traffic.
  22. Down 3-2 with one out in the 9th and Kendall bats with Kapler and Weeks both available. There is just no sense to that.
  23. Brad Penny could be this guy that the Brewers could sign in the off season to a one year contract with an option for the next year. I don't think the Dodgers are going to pick up Penny's option. Penny is having a not so good year so far and I believe he still has a lot left in his tank. I believe Penny could turn it around next year. The Dodgers have a huge buyout on that option, so I see no way they decline it. Its for $8m with a $2m buyout, I can't see how any team can turn that down. Now they might trade Penny, but I don't see him as a free agent.
  24. Because swinging at what you know is going to be a fastball from Peavy , one of the best pitchers in the game, is better just guessing after 3-1
