  1. Shouse facing Burrell has to be the most idiotic thing you could do. Shouse is LOOGY and always will be
  2. Chance that Kendall catches both halves of the DH? 80? 90?
  3. People keep forgetting that DiFelice is in the pen
  4. 9 million does not buy a star player, for 9 million you hope to get a solid starter. Cameron is much better than that.
  5. Yes he will. Established players in their primes almost never move. Hall moving off shortstop is not the norm. If he is moved other teams will see that Brewers, the team that sees him everyday, don't think of him as a shortstop. Hardy complained about hitting 7th, moving off SS would be a firestorm.
  6. Fans boo when a player strikes out in the 4th inning with a man at 1B.
  7. Its not forgone, but his power has slipped and his defense has always been dreadful Add to that he'll be 36 in two years. I could see the Yankees trying to move him to 3B or CF but I can't see him staying at SS.
  8. Its widely known that Milwaukee fans boo at anything. Other teams have mentioned it. But thats ok, I'm sure it will have absolutely no effect on keeping players.
  9. Actually Hardy will make more money by switching to 3B. Reason number 1 he moves from an over crowded elite SS area defensively into a very small list of great defensive 3B. Hardy would probably be in the top 3 defensive 3B in the NL if he moves over to 3B. Wright, Hardy, Zimmerman would be your top 3 defensive 3B in the NL. When looking at the NL SS position Hardy will be near the middle of the pack defensively in the NL for SS. Top 3 NL SS are Tulowitzki, Reyes, Rollins with Ramirez at a close 4th best behind those 3 and don't forget about Yunel Escobar either he is becoming a top SS in the NL also. Hardy has no shot at a gold glove at 3B ,Wright will win them now until the end of his career. And of course of the shortstops you listed only Tulo is really a top notch defender. And you ignore the fact that Hardy's bat just isn't exceptional at 3B and that the Yankees will be looking SS, not 3B in 2 years. Hardy will gain money because he will be a contender year after year at 3B compared to his chances of winning that at SS. Awards like the Gold Glove award go a long ways in determining a players worth to a team. This is why Hardy could get more money as a 3B than as a SS.
  10. Because in two years he is the top free agent short stop, at 2B, he's another guy. In two years Derek Jeter's deal with the Yankees will expire. If you're Hardy's agent, you have to know your client is the top SS FA and the Yankees will be shopping. You're looking at at least 8 years/$110m in today's terms.
  11. I'd trade 200 tirades for pinch hitting for Kendall when down in the 9th.
  12. The SD feed of FSNWI stinks, if you can't tell the difference between the HD feed and the SD feed something is wrong.
  13. If by numbers you mean August, yeah he was incredible for one month while being pedestrian for the rest of the season with bad defense.
  14. The most likely scenario is that flotsam is traded to Texas for Blaylock to platoon with Hall at 3B to give Gamel another year or Blaylock is signed to a one year deal if Texas declines the option. Hall moves to 3b platoon/utility infielder. Upgrading at 2B would be really hard to do. If the Yankees cut bait on Cano you might get a discount there. But his 2nd half has been decent and the Brewers really don't match up well. Actually the problem is that after the CC trade they don't have much left to bring in top line talent without hitting them hard for at least next year. After some of the current draft picks get some time in that may change. As for FA-Orlando Hudson is the only one interesting and the Mets have a 2B situation that makes Milwaukee look great. 1B-Sure of the Dodgers give up a cheap 1B who put up a .900 OPS last year and a top reliever you seriously think about it, but why do the Dodgers do that? They only do that if they think Loney is't that good which means you should be careful because they should have better info than you do. SS-Escobar's bat isn't ready. His BABIP in AA was .375, teh cahnce that he matches that in thr majors is close to nil, and so his BA will fall quickly and he has no power yet (ISO of .106 in AA is boderline at best). So unless blown away you keep Hardy for another year and then pawn him off in a year before he signs a humungous deal to replace Jeter in New York.
  15. JJ GIDP twice already today! What do mean the rest of the team can't hit weak grounders to 2B? Or does TGJ get special commendation for GIDP with no outs?
  16. Game on the line, Hart on the bench..going with Gwynn. I really don't know what to say, its like he wants to lose.
  17. Weeks since the All Star Break: .257 .369 .412 Can we get off the season long slump already? Oh, by the way, Corey Hart since the All Star Break: .264 .293 .446
  18. Because the only other option is Counsell who isn't as good defensively and can't hit better. Yes Lamb is now here, but there is no reason to believe he can finally regain any form and he is a butcher in the field.
  19. This is why you don't use Stetter for one batter.
  20. Can someone tell Yost Shouse is the Loogy not Stetter
  21. The Cubs don't have an MVP caliber hitter either. The Dodgers didn't until Manny went there. The DBacks didn't until Dunn showed up. The Angels didn't get one until Texeria went there (Vlad of course is very good, but not MVP quality this season). The Rays don't have one.
  22. BP has been projecting between 92-94 wins for the NL Wild Card for a while now.
  23. Rankings are based upon the last two seasons and he missed half of 2007 with injury. Usually to overcome that you have to have a really big season.
