  1. Hey how else can you get all your left handed bats in order?
  2. Not sure why you think Cameron is not worth $10m. Any free agent you sign will be at least as much and for multiple years. You could trade for a CFer but that means giving up talent with likely no improvement in production. Now if the Brewers don't think Brantley has a chance they might look more long term, but Cameron at a year for $10m at this point is hard to pass up. EDIT:They can afford Cameron and Sheets, especially if Suppan can pitch well for two months and they can flip his contract.
  3. Hart last 7 days: .348 .370 .696 last 14 days: .348 .346 .587 No doubt Hart struggled much of July, but he's been on fire lately.
  4. Wow Hardy has been terrible for the last month
  5. My favorite right nwo is how Rock talks about how Prince doesn't try to hit homeruns---Fielder has oen of the most exaggerated upperdut swings I've ever seen when he tries to hit the long ball. Now he doesn't always swing that way, but if he expects soemthing inside its an uberviolent uppercut
  6. Using individual splits on RH hitters even with a fulls seasons worth of ABs isn't useful. League wide splits always predict future performance better than a given individual splits.
  7. 1, A lineup change that is set to cost the Brewers a full win over the next two months isn't minor. Again losing Braun for the season would have less of an impact. But unless the team plane crashes in the Andes no one should worry? Why even come here if some minor things aren't worth discussing? 2. You keep up building that stawman no matter that it was never the case. Hart was healthjy to start the year. Despite that Yost still played Mench over him. Even Brian Anderson is aware of that fact..
  8. The point was not to give Fielder a day off but injury replacement or being able to pinch run for Fielder down in the 9th inning. Though Fielder could hit a one out double with the Brewers down one in the 9th and likely wouldn't be lifted.
  9. That would mean using the backup catcher and we all know that one would rather lose a game than suffer the humiliation of running out of catchers!
  10. The thing with calling up Nix is that with Branyan out there is no 1B backup on the roster. Kapler I guess? Which is why Nelson not coming up is a small surprise.
  11. I thought PTBNLs could not have played in the same league at any point during the season?
  12. I didn't realize we use Chinese philosophy here on bf.net. I'm not sure, is this a joke?
  13. He isn't making those plays. An since Counsell has an error at 3B I'm not sure how much to trust your memory.
  14. Yes Counsell can get to those balls but he doesn't have the arm strength to do anything with them anymore.
  15. Braun would need to be out for the season to even contemplate this.
  16. Yes. Counsell's arm has fallen off from where it was even last year and his range isn't that important at 3B. Hall is the best of the three mostly because he can not only charge balls quickly but get off a strong throw, not always accurate of course. All of them have enough range to dive on balls up the line or near the hole. The defense difference just isn't there at 3B. Yes Counsell is a better SS but thats because his range becomes more important. Add to all of this is Counsell's 37, even great players fall off quickly at 37 if they play everyday. Counsell has never been a great player and hasn't been an everday player since 2005. Of all the players likely to get worn out he would top the list.
  17. Not at all better and most likely worse.
  18. Hardy well on his way to another hitless streak
  19. Now using Mota might be good because that means he wouldn't go tomorrow....
  20. Riske might not get the 9th now, he's at 22 pitches. McClung time?
  21. Weeks batting to stay in the game....
  22. Why Hall and not Durham when a pitching change is very likely?
  23. Harris misplay that or just drop it?
  24. Did Kapler really hit a ground ball double?
