    Of course they can. But Shouse is a LOOGY that can go basically everyday and you have the oppositions best lefthanded hitter up late in a close game. There is no reason not to take advantage of that matchup.

    I haven't really said anything about them, perhaps you have me confused with some one else? But I won't be surprised at all if they struggle. As to the defense, which position are the Yankees above average? 2B maybe? They have a poor outfield, Jeter is Jeter and ARod is regressing.

    The contract for Oswalt is great. Its below market. 14, 15 and 16 with a 16 option or 2 buyout. Or you know, 1.5 million more that Suppan for the next two years. Oswalt maybe in decline, but he's still a top 10 right now.

    They would had to have given up LaPorta and Parra and 3 others. Arizona's offer was big. LaPorta really isn't that big of a deal, Parra is given teh Brewers really have no other ready starting prospects.

    Actually no, there is really no reason to believe that Hughes and Kennedy are going to be lights out this year. Maybe by the end of the year, but young pitchers usually struggle and add in a terrible defense and you can have some bad days.
