  1. Yes those Brewer scouts and management that said Braun would be fine at 3B and that Weeks is good at 2B now.
  2. If Gwynn is such a contact hitter why does he strike out so much?
  3. You forgot that before Hart gets to hit, Hall has to. Though is Hart's hand now hot enough that he bats 5th?
  4. See I think Gwynn is perfect for Phitting because you can you his big skill of hitting for average and choose where to deploy it. Which is why I'd love Gwynn as bench palyer. But I don't want to deal with the fact that already his father was letting it be know that TGJ deserves more playing time last season.
  5. Yep, I thought there should have been a play on Fukudome's double since it was hit to dead center. The last pop up by Lee might have fallen for another CFer but its hard to say.
  6. LaPorta really won't be rushed though. He's an old college player. He's already 23. He really only has this season and possibly next before his prospect status goes away.
  7. Wow, yesterday changed my mind. So everybody using it as proof that Gwynn is great also should be calling for Craig Counsell to start over Hardy. After all Counsell had the biggest hit of the game! So Free Craig Counsell!
  8. Brain Anderson was able to make FJM! Link
  9. Nope. You need a digital box
  10. Yeah but they really couldn't keep going without risking serious injury. They just should have postponed it to begin with.
  11. Don't worry, McClung likely will only go 2 before giving up 3 runs
  12. Someone in Dodgerland woke up and realized that Ethier is good and Pierre is bad. Curse them! Link
  13. But if he used Dillion that would mean using 2 players (since Hart can no longer play CF) and if the game goes 12 innings he could run out of position players!
  14. Of course when he takes Gwynn out it would be for Kapler so I'm not sure it would really be worth it anyway. Prince is going to have to deal with LOOGYs, no reason to make Gwynn do so as well.
  15. I really hope they just call the game or delay it right away. I don't want to see Sheets pitch two innings and then have to sit for 2 hours. And then see McClung come on out.
  16. I really thought Yost wouldn't be foolish enough to bat his only two LHers back to back. I really never thought I'd overestimate Yost.
  17. Not really that small. Pitchers in the NL with a higher VORP in 2007 than Zambrano: Peavy 77.0 Webb 66.1 Penny 61.2 Oswalt 59.8 Hudson 59.7 Smoltz 56.7 Harang 53.8 Hamels 48.8 Cain 47.6 Lilly 46.7 Young 45.8 Zambrano 43.5 Now add Santana to that list. You can say some of those might fall of due to age (Smoltz), lack of run support so won't get enough wins for BBWA voters (Cain) or career year (Penny). But Zambrano has a huge hill to climb to be considered.
  18. 4people at ESPN picked Zambrano for teh CyYoung, he was second to Santana. I really don't get that.
  19. So YESPN will be airing highlights of historic moments in Yankee stadium all season long.
  20. Joe Morgan praising Hanley Rameriz's defense....
  21. Here they are: PECOTA Standings I still have trouble with the Cubs' offense being 100 runs better
  22. Braun can't even sniff free agency, his is 6 years away. He won't get arbitration until 2010 at the earliest. There just isn't any need to move right now.
  23. Ask Pat Listash. Now Braun is different from most ROYs, sure. But there is absolutely no need at this time. Braun is at least another full season away from arbitration even. At the end of the season, maybe. But just two months ago everyone though the Rockies were foolish for the Tulo contract and now the Brewers seem headed down the same road.
  24. Thats like giving credit to the guy who puts his entire savings in lottery tickets and manages to win.
  25. Some people believe that a 4.50 ERA pitcher is worth $11 million a year, so Bush alone is huge win for Obveraby. If Davis was on the Brewers last year, the Brewers would have been better and they would have had 2 draft picks after he left. Instead the Brewers were worse and really have only Mota to show for it which was really a salary dump. That doesn't even consider Eveland.
