Of course Al knows Milwaukee's terrible plight by living 500 miles away. The fact that Milwaukee houses the world headquarters to three insanely profitable firms in Northwestern Mutual, Harley Davidson, and Manpower must mean nothing.
Consistent now means good. REally Bill was on the radio saying Syuppan needs to get more consistant. No Bill Suppan has been consistant, he been consitantly bad for 6 weeks. He needs to pitch better not at the same level.
Where did the idea of Gross being slow come from? He isn't. Now eer did have Fielder and Estrada back to back for a long time which was a GIDP waiting to happen.
It does always amaze me that people take the QB rating on faith when its really just a made up thing but can't believe that there is more beyond batting average.
Its not attendance--attendance isn't a major force anyway. Its signage and other ads. Its selling broadcast rights in Japan. Didn't people notice that there were Japanese ads in PNC when the Brewers were facing an over the hill Japanese relief pitcher? Now imagine what happens when you have the biggest Japanese star on the planet.
DRays will not make that trade. Besides Crawford doesn't want to be a CFer and as such really isn't that special unless he really takes off. Neither he nor Hall really have the bat to play a corner OF position.
Can't blame Balvasi for this one. Nintendo no doubt wants a large Mariner fanbase in Japan. And Nintendo has more money than they can spend right now anyway.
My guess is that for Cordero they'll want a similar return that they got last year for worse relief pitchers. IE a cheap major league starter plus. That deal might ruin their trades going forward like the Kazmir deal ruined the DRays trades.
Don't blame the internet. Blame everything. Remember the FSU student who went to the game in a half shirt and cutoffs, got camera time and then was hunted down to do modeling work?
